Happy with the decent pace they were going at, Kuroko gave occasional glances back at Ayumi, who though air-headed seemed like an incredibly sweet girl. Of course, that peculiar scent wafted from her every once in awhile. The scent of death. She was either a ghoul or a murderer. Either way, she peaked his interest.

When they arrived in his home ward, he gave a quiet sigh. The 07th Ward really had the best character of all the others. It was reasonably calm, as calm as a city could be, and was filled to the brim with small, home-owned businesses like his own. It was quite the charming place.

"Ah." He was brought from his small, nostalgic trance by the girl's question. "Just over here, not far at all. My sincerest apologies for making you walk all this way. Though it's interesting - you don't seem tired in the least."

He flashed a brief smile before continuing on his way, soon approaching a small shop tucked between two larger apartment buildings. He pulled a key from a corner behind the small sign that labeled it Karasu Antiques, unlocking the door easily and stepping aside. "Ladies first."

Smiling as Ayumi entered the shop with that lovely smile gracing her features, Kuroko moved to follow her inside, setting her luggage gently on the table. He watched her twirl around for a moment, chuckling softly. He'd always had people enter his shop and be put off by the old scent, but she seemed all the more delighted by it.

"Thank you," he said with a nod, feeling as though her joy was a complement to himself. It was nice, knowing someone enjoyed his little business, and her excitement was certain to bring in more customers. A selfish thought, perhaps, but he was a businessman at heart, and this little shop was something his entire life depended on.

"Ah, shall I show you your room? It's just upstairs. I apologize for it not being entirely prepared, though. I don't have guests incredibly often." That was a lie, but he wasn't going to say outright that in his free time he brought humans and ghouls alike into his home and ate them. He didn't want her to get the wrong idea. After all, he had a reputation to keep up, and he wasn't taking any chances to spoil it.

Moving to lead the way upstairs, though stopping briefly to give Ayumi a chance to look over the shop she seemed to have so much interest in, Kuroko walked carefully up the rather steep, carpeted spiral staircase tucked behind a room hidden by a patterned curtain.

When they arrived upstairs, it had a similar layout to the shop beneath, save for the walls dividing each room, which were pasted with a sheen of crimson wallpaper. He enjoyed the color (obviously), but it was also to protect the apartment from any blood splatters that were destined to happen during his little 'hunts'.

He made his through the open living room, finally approaching a room tucked away from the others. It had originally been a storage space, but being the social person he was, he had thought ahead enough and realized that, at some point in his life, he would likely end up having a guest or two eventually.

"Here we are," he said, opening the door gracefully and revealing a room with a much brighter appearance than the rest. This one was a coral blue (he hadn't the money for more wallpaper), with downy bed sheets to match and a heavily pillowed bed at the center. It had a flood of natural light, which he found charming, despite the less-than-par color scheme.

Kuroko was, needless to say, taken aback by the girl's utter excitement at the room. Well, at least she enjoyed it? He wasn't at all used to women putting themselves out like this. Then again, he usually had them wrapped around his finger by now. She seemed less so than most. "I'm glad yo--" He almost finished, only to be nearly tackled to the ground in a thankful hug. She was surprisingly strong for her size.

"I'm glad you like it," he finished, flashing a charming smile. He was glad things were going so well. Disregarding his difficult financial situation, this was actually turning out to be a decent day. "Ah - would you like something to eat? I don't have much, but if nothing else I can give you coffee."

Staring the investigator down as best he could with his smaller height, Murasaki finally folded the paper nearly and slid it into his pocket, about to return the phone when a thought came to him. Perhaps he could use it for even the smallest amount of reassurance? He still didn't entirely trust Junko, not that she seemed the type to lie outright.

He finally handed the phone over, albeit reluctantly, and gave the pair one last look. "If it takes longer than two hours, I want some payment for wasting my time," he said. "Also," he added, handing her the clipboard he had kept tucked under one arm until now, "you've gotta do my job for me, since I'm doing yours."

With a nod, Kuroko decided he might as well let her make the drink herself. She would have to get used to the house eventually, after all, and this was certainly a start. Of course, her energetic personality would take a bit of getting used to, considering how calm and adequate he tended to keep his lifestyle. "Slow down, little rabbit," he mused, following after her at a much more normal pace. "Wait for the old man to catch up."

He wasn't at all old, of course. In fact, he was still ripe with young age, but he thought it a funny way of describing himself. A nice little oxymoron, if you would. He made his way down the stairs along with her, heading toward the small, old-looking coffee brewer tucked back behind the shop counter.
