She tried to search her memory, but nothing was coming up.
"No, I don't remember you," Margo said as she shook her head. "Should I?" James had moved to stand in between her and the guy.

"You should, but I figured you wouldn't." He shrugged, looking Margo over, "You know, I was told you looked a lot like me, but I think you look more like your mother than me." He smiled.

What did my mom have anything to do with this? And why would she look like him? She tried lookimg at him again, and something small was itching at her. But she couldn't grasp at it. Margo crossed her arms in concentration, and it all of a sudden came to her. She gasped and took another step back.
"You're my..." She couldn't say it. This was the guy who left her and her mom when she was three years old.

"Your father? Yeah, that would be me." He smiled, "Wanna give your dad a hug? Or anything that shows love?" James rolled his eyes at the mans words, but he made sure he couldn't see it.

Margo looked up to the man who was standing in front of her.
"Why would I do that? You leave when I am 3 years old, don't send a word. Then you pay people to kidnap me? How does that warrant a hug, or anything that shows love?" She turns on her foot, and stalks toward the back of the room. Anger was welling in her stomach, and she couldn't understand why this was all happening.

"Well, I wanted to see you, and I figured your mother would tell you some bullshit lies about me to get you to not come see me. So this is what I had to do." He shrugged as he watched her, "You'd think that would warrant a hug, doing what I had to, to see you."

"No, I don't think it warrants a hug. And I guess even if what she said to get me to stay away, it was good that she did. Anyone who would kidnap their daughter and leaver her for days in the hands of strangers doesn't deserve to be a father." She was furious, and couldn't look at him. Why would he even think that she would want to hug someone that had kidnapped her, even if she was his daughter?

James stepped in front of her father as he went to walk closer to her, "How about you let her calm down for a little while, alright?" He suggested and soon the man nodded and walked out. "We didn't know that was your dad." He said lowly after the man left.

Margo ground her teeth together before turning to face James.
"What difference would it have made if you did know? Not in the job description to care who you have to take from their lives, I take it? You couldn't, or wouldn't have done anything differently. " She sat down on the edge of the mattress, digging her fingernails into her arms to keep from screaming.

"I don't know about the other guys, but I would've." He paused as he watched her, "I can't stand a man who can't stick around to support his family." He thought about his own past for a second before looking over to her. He took a deep breath before going to sit beside her, but not too close.

James scooted closer to her, but she just looked at the wall.
"What could you have done differently without breaking your rules?"
Tears were fighting to escape, but she felt too angry.

"Well, I didn't say I wouldn't have broken rules." He shrugged and looked to the ground. "But if I would've known before, I probably would've just turned down the whole job. I would've skipped out on a lot of money, but I would've been fine."

"So now it bothers you what happened to the victims of your job? What about all the others? Whose lives you tore up." She got up and walked away from James. A tear escaped her eyes and she wiped it away with her sleeve. "Why don't you go tell my father to go screw himself."

"Trust me, I will." He chuckled before standing up, "Know why I'm barely in those pictures?" He raised a brow as he walked over to the pictures in question.

Margo turned her head just an inch to look at James, who was now standing in front of the pictures on tbe wall.
"Why," she asked, with full force of the anger still in her words.
