This is a 1x1 Rp, please don't cut in or comment/reply to it!

1940s AU:
The Witches, Vampires, and Werewolves all live in a large city that's about as modern as you can get. Every week there's a meeting for all the species at different clubs for peaceful negotiations.
The Witches are considered the "Peace Keepers" of the city and usually host these meetings. There are many covens, but there's still a leader among these; the Mortems.
There are multiple packs of Werewolves, with the primary being Roscoe's Pack. There are also multiple clans of Vampires, but the primary ones are the Daniels and the Morticais.

In this world Witches tend to be the most open and modernized; although most assume they get their money from using their powers for humans. Humans are welcome with open arms, but very few make it into their ranks.
Vampires come from old money and are less open than the witches, but are more likely to allow humans among them as an open feeding source. They are also from families most associate with the Mafia.
Werewolves worked themselves up to their positions of power on their own, and are the most closed off group of the creatures. Humans are hardly welcomed, and the other species aren't usually trusted to get past the front gate.

Raine

It was one of those nights where the covens supervised the creatures and their contracts. Raine tagged along for the music and unlimited possibility of dance partners. Sure the werewolves weren't too fun, but she could easily nab a vampire or even a human for a few songs. The groups were all separated, but the dance floor was a concoction of every species in the city. Here, no one really cared as long as your body moved. And Raine did move.

The witch drifted between the moving masses in the crowd, her grey hair allowing many to locate her. What might caught more eyes was she wore a less modest dress than many of the women there, choosing a low cut off-shoulder deep red swing dress. There were the usual undergarments to keep men from seeing anything revealing should she spin, but that wasn't the issue. Raine openly bared her shoulders and most her collarbone. Her dress held snug against her just above her cleavage, something most considered scandalous. It attracted a few eyes, primarily those of a vampire who admired her boldness.

The trumpets and drums within the band made the beat carry, it made Raine hum to herself. The music filled her and gave her energy she usually only felt with magic. It was her passion. The current song started out like a classic swing song, and she happily took the hand her partner offered. The witch had many favorite songs, but this one had a twist many of the time didn't. The vampire who spun and moved in beat with her was a bit shocked then the classical up-beat music took another turn and sped up when the female singer called out 'Ready set go' to the crowd. Raine kept in beat, speeding herself up and beginning to lead the vampire. The pace kept going throughout the next few moments, calming down for a short while. That short while was the key for the vampire to slid his hand down Raine's body. It wasn't welcomed, no matter the type of song.

Raine shifted her foot, her black heel darting out to catch the vampire's ankle. He tripped and went down just as the song picked up its beat again. The witch furrowed her brow, looking confused as she leaned down to grab his hand.
"Oh! I'm so sorry. If I had known there was going to be so much trash on the dance floor I would've watched my feet better." Her sincere smile gave the phrase a different meaning, one which the vampire was a little slow on the uptake. Just as the poor sod reached for her hand, Raine disappeared into the mass of moving bodies and moved towards the opposite side of the room. This side just so happened to house a majority, if the the entirety, of the werewolves in attendance.

The song droned on for a moment longer before the singer took a small break. Off the dance floor, the witch was in plain view of anyone who dared to look at her, which quite a few might. Her attire wasn't nearly as modest as it should be, and the werewolves and vampires were old-school. It either flustered them or gave them the wrong mindset. Raine sighed, pushing her wavy hair over her shoulder. It had been pin-curled by another witch in her coven, and was quite annoying. The waves looked beautiful, but she preferred her hair straight to braid it. As the moments moved along, Raine realized the music had picked back up. The witch snapped herself into the present, realizing she'd been standing at the edge of the dance crowd for a good 5 minutes or more. It was time to move, and she only needed a partner. One who was fit enough to spin and drop her without grabbing for the rest of her.
Raine's eyes moved along the werewolves, and she smiled to herself as she walked through the crowd. Her smile fell somewhat as she noticed all the youngsters, ones who probably wouldn't be able to control their strength or themselves. Then it was if the goddess had dropped a werewolf at her feet, Raine spotted a rather handsome male who was by a large pack. The packs never scared Raine, and she was wanting a partner so bad she wouldn't mind snagging one. Raine walked up to the male, gently grabbing his elbow. She didn't miss the intimidating, taller, and nastier looking male across from him.
"Excuse me... Would you like to dance? I seem to be missing a partner, and you look like you're missing one too~" The witch put on a small smile, as if she was shy and it had taken all her courage to grab the male. It might pity him into dancing, where he'd find out she wasn't so shy.

Whilst it could be assumed that the presence of a lone female would go by practically unnoticed in such a crowded, music-filled room, the reality of the situation was quite different. The moment the young witch sidled her way through the throngs of dancers and into the area which the werewolves claimed as their territory, every eye, every ear and every nose was on her. Witches were peace-keepers and as such it was not unusual for a member of the species to roam through the various packs to ensure everything remained peaceful between them, but that did not mean that the Alphas welcomes the intrusion. Especially one Alpha in particular.

The moment the familiar scent reached Roscoe, a low growl began to build up in the Alpha's throat. His pack were situated close by, surrounding a number of tables as they either played cards of chatted amongst themselves whilst watching the dancers, but never participating. Roscoe was sitting at one of the card-playing tables, but as Raine's scent drew closer he slammed his hand of cards onto the table in irritation, before lifting his gaze towards the scarlet clad female. What business did a witch like her have amongst his pack?
Roscoe's question was answered all too quickly as Raine singled out Ty, the subordinate male sitting across from the Alpha. Whilst Roscoe was all things harsh demanding, Ty's nature was much sweeter. In fact, his attention had kept straying from the card game the moment the music had started up. He liked to dance, but Roscoe got uptight about interspecies mingling and all of the werewolves in his pack were male.

The gentle touch against his elbow caused Ty to glance up, he'd been trying hard to focus on his hand of cards and had therefore been one of the only wolves who hadn't noticed Raine's approach. However, despite the fact that the woman in front of him was a well known witch, Ty couldn't help but smile as she asked him to dance. Usually females were too intimated by the hostile aura the pack (read: Roscoe) sent out, but not Raine, clearly.
"I've never been one to deny a pretty woman of my company." Ty replied, his words drifting out easily despite the increasing amount of agitation he could feel around him from both his pack and Alpha. Pushing back his chair, Ty let his cards fall onto the table before standing up and offering his hand to Raine. "I'd love to."

"No." Roscoe was out of his chair and next to the pair within second, causing Ty to instinctively drop his outstretched hand and take a step backwards as the larger, angrier male stepped between them. "He wouldn't. Go find another partner, witch." The Alpha demanded as he glared down at the smaller female.
The scene had caused all of the werewolves, even those not in Roscoe's pack, to freeze, the sudden stillness of the wolf side of the room contrasting greatly to both the upbeat music and dancers who filled the rest of the hall.

Raine

The eyes on her did little to deter Raine, she knew her place and wouldn't be afraid to assert it verbally. She also knew there was little chance of her getting attacked due to the peace agreements. Although she knew her species was a key to slipping through the cracks in the other species' defenses, she tried to keep herself out of trouble as often as possible. Not that it really helped, she got into a lot of trouble just by being Raine.

Whatever growl Raine detected wasn't considered a threat to her, even if it came from across the table. The slam that accompanied it shortly after did little to frighten her as well. She was used to many becoming annoyed in her presence, it was a true gift. The werewolf who was annoyed with her was obviously the alpha, or else he wouldn't be so bold around the others she assumed were his pack. Most of them were younger, not that she could really judge. They all looked to be around her age or a bit older. And wouldn't you know, they were all male. The alpha must have a bad bark and bite to keep them all under control.

As soon as she Ty's attention and he flashed those pearly whites, Raine beamed. The werewolf seemed nice enough personality wise, and physically he was rather handsome. Oh and look, he had a silver tongue. Raine hummed softly in tune with the music, happily taking Ty's hand when he offered it. Most men wouldn't pay attention to her hands, but if they did they'd notice they weren't exactly smooth and dainty like most. Raine's hands weren't calloused from years and years of work, but they were rough as if she put in some work. Something most women didn't truly have to do.
Roscoe's interruption rubbed her the wrong way, and Raine tensed as she glanced over at him. He was close enough in a short span of time that her instincts to defend kicked in. She had to play it off and avoid fighting. She was supposed to be a "peacekeeper" after all. Smiling softly, Raine leaned towards Roscoe and folded her hands in front of her. "Oh come on, it's a club! Dance a little bit, you all sit over here brooding over cards like you're gambling away your fortunes. The least you could do is give a woman a dance or two." Raine cooed, tilting her head and moving a step towards Roscoe. It was a sign she wasn't going to obey his orders, a defiance to his status.
"Besides... What am I supposed to do. Dance alone? I'll keep him for one or two and return him good as new. Well, maybe with a hair or two out of place." The witch stated, placing a hand on her hip as she did so. She needed to keep her hands busy to avoid grabbing a weapon to defend herself. She was a witch, but werewolves weren't the only ones who had instincts to keep in check. "Or maybe you will step in as my dance partner?" Raine teased, smirking as she stared up at the alpha.

The moment Raine took a step closer to Roscoe, the air in the room sparked with tension. Not only had the little witch attempted to steal away a pack member for her own enjoyment, but now she was publicly defying the Alpha's orders for her to leave them be. Witches had the ability to demobilise werewolves quite easily, if the chose to do so, but riling up an already grumpy Alpha male was definitely not recommended.

Clearly unamused by Raine's reasoning, Roscoe mimicked the younger females body language by folding his own arms across his broad chest, although the strain which this caused on the sleeves of his jacket was quite apparent as the fabric creased into the folds of his biceps. "I'm sure your vampire friend would gladly offer his services." He replied, his stony glare drifting towards the dance floor as he spoke, alluding to the fact that he had clearly noticed the interaction between them earlier. However, the moment Raine questioned if Roscoe would escort her, the Alpha's gaze zeroed in on her once more, this time his expression full of utter disbelief. Did she really just say that?
"It's okay, Roscoe. I'll dance with her, I'd like to." Ty offered, he recognised the expression on Roscoe's face and more often than not it was not a sign of good things to come. "Where's the harm in it?" He was trying to defused the situation, something he'd clearly done many times before.
"Quiet, Ty." Roscoe snapped, his voice edging on a growl as he spoke. Turning back to Raine, he added, to the surprise of every intently listening wolf. "One dance, that's it. Don't get any ideas."
Before Ty could question who exactly Roscoe had just offered up as a partner, the question was answered for him whenever Roscoe took a small step back so that he was no longer between Ty and Raine. They were free to dance.

But Roscoe was clearly unhappy about it, at least, if the glare he was sending towards Raine was any indication. It was a type of prejudice that Ty could never quite understand, but who was he to question his Alpha? Many of the younger werewolves were so much worse, their biases dug deeply into them from their original packs.
Although, at that moment in time, the younger wolves had clearly decided that Roscoe permitting Ty to dance with the witch gave them leave to break out of the tense spell they had been under join their Alpha in low grumblings about 'interspecies mingling'.

Raine

She was young, but Raine knew what she was doing. Werewolves wouldn't really acknowledge her if she just backed down like a 'pup' to them. Although her tactics might lead to her getting herself killed one day when the club walls disappeared. While she was surely a witch, Raine would rather take the wolf down with her own physical abilities if the time came to it. That wasn't allowed, however, due to her coven's restriction on showing others just how trained she was. Better they underestimate her as a woman than give away her strengths. How else could she possibly slip through defenses so easily?

Raine's smiled tilted up at the edges, forming a real grin instead of her smirk. Roscoe mimicking her was funnier than he probably thought. At least the movement showed off more than his attitude as the witch risked a quick glance at his body. Oh, he would've been a nice dance partner either way. The witch then mentally kicked herself for admiring a mutt, furrowing her brow as she met his eyes. "That poor chump is my friend about as much as you are." Raine replied back, her grin fading back to the smirk she'd originally worn.
When the alpha looked at her like that, Raine couldn't help but let out a snicker or two and chuckle to herself. It was rude to laugh at others in public to their faces, but she had little in the manner category anyways. She quieted herself and bit her lip as she heard Ty speak. It seemed someone was more than happy to let go of their species, and possibly a few moments of their time. Roscoe's snappy interruption just made her mood sour a fit further than it already was.

"Thank you for your kindness, Alpha sir." Raine playfully dipped into a curtsy, but refused to lower her head or do more than a quick bob. She was toying with him, playing at a respectful motion without using any respect at all. After a few seconds, she focused on Ty and extended her hand to grab his without hesitation. "I hope you dance better than that silver tongue." Raine stated, flicking a wavy lock of hair away from her face.

This was going to be fun. Especially with her favorite song coming on. A male singer had taken over the stage, and a the instant he started singing a few witches clapped their hands and hooted. It was an inside joke, especially in Raine's coven. Her favorite song was indeed her job; it also described the city. The rats, dogs, and cats.
Oow. A cool. Cat. In town... Play it cats...

A cool cat in town started playing in earnest and Raine's grin grew. Her hips were already moving to the beat. "Keep up, Ty. The name's Raine." She asked, spinning the face the wolf she'd managed to nab from the pack. She'd heard the name the Alpha, apparently named Roscoe, had called her partner. Ty was an obvious contrast, if not a polar opposite, to his superior. As were their names.
Pulling Ty closer than what Roscoe would probably prefer, the Witch spun to face him and instantly stepped into the first part of the dance without missing a beat. While she loved dancing, Raine had been taught it was an easy way to get close to targets as well. That was the only reason why her lessons had continued well past other things that the witches had ruled out. Raine didn't need to know how to cook extravagant meals, sew dresses, or clean a house. She needed another skill set, one to snuff out the light of life in another being.

Raine's feet moved in beat with the music, but she relaxed enough to allow Ty to take the lead whenever he wanted. When it was apparent that Ty wasn't going to drop her, step on her toes, or do otherwise, Raine would relax into a rhythm. During a few steps she did go out of her way to perform a spin or two as well as a dip to keep Ty on his toes. If he failed to grab her, which she highly doubted he would, her wind would be there to catch her. A few times, Raine glanced over to Ty's pack, specifically signalling Roscoe out. During a spin she didn't hesitate to stick her tongue out in his direction, not expecting the alpha to spot her. He'd probably be focusing on Ty, at least she hoped so. If not... Well, this was a good 5 minute song, and definitely one of the longer songs the clubs played. She had quite a while to avoid him.

Roscoe & Ty

After following Raine onto the dance floor, Ty quickly found that the pair were well matched partners. The red-clad witch had an amazing sense of rhythm and she wasn't afraid to bust out a few less conservative dance moves when the beat requested it, two traits which only increased the male's enjoyment of her presence. Effortlessly keeping up with every spin, every dip, Ty ensured that Raine remained in the safety of his arms, rather than in a crumpled heap on the floor like many other couples who were clearly trying out moves beyond their skill set.
"Oh, I know who you are, Miss Mortem." Ty replied with an easy smile, his words expressing that not only did he know Raine's name, he also knew what coven she belonged to. "I'd be surprised if there was anyone who didn't." He added with a playful wink. "You're kind of hard to ignore."
Typically, the man would lead the woman when dancing, but Ty was perfectly fine with simply following Raine's motions and complimenting them with his own. It wasn't as if he got much opportunity to dance, after all! Despite how much he liked it.

Contrasting to Ty's absolute pleasure towards Raine's company, as he watched the pair dancing Roscoe felt quite different about the entire fiasco. In fact, he was pretty pissed off, a feeling which had begun the moment the little witch had attempted to steal the subordinate away and only increased since. Especially when that damn cat song came on. As the music continued, Roscoe remained standing, his grey eyed gaze stead as it watched the dancers... meaning that whenever a certain witch glanced towards the pack during less than favourable moments of the song, or whenever she decided to stick her tongue out at him, the Alpha noticed. Oh, he noticed... and he was going to grab her the moment the music ended.

So did Ty.
"Ah, don't worry about him." Ty commented as he noticed his Alpha's murderous expression. "Roscoe's not so bad, really, he's just..." Trailing off, the subordinate tried to put Roscoe's personality into words. "...not much of a people person. He's even like that to other wolves, so it's not personal." Well, not completely personal, but Ty decided not to add that bit aloud, after all, the witches were valuable allies against the other species.

Raine

While most werewolves were fabulous dance partners for their natural abilities and gifts, it was usually harder to get them to soften up and go with the flow. There was the rare one who was good at controlling their gifts, but not their hands or where they went... It seemed Ty could do both, and Raine was thankful for that. Her clothing always caused questions because of her boldness. Not that she truly cared about the opinions of others, at least not where they could see.
The trumpets took over and Raine's smile was sincere as she kept pace, mostly setting it, with Ty. His movements and soft hands easily won her trust dance-wise, and it showed since she relaxed into his grip. Her hands weren't as tense as before either, smoothing out to simply cup whatever part of Ty's arm or shoulder she held. While music and dancing were her drug, she wasn't lost enough to ignore her name. The witch looked straight at Ty, slipping into the classic Swing movements of pulling herself under his arm and counting her footsteps to the beat. She repeated it, simply keeping the pattern going for as long as they spoke.

"I see my reputation exceeds my own expectations. I'm hoping you mean my fashion sense or my dancing, since there's not much else I'm known for attracting attention with." She replied, her smile fading slightly. There were plenty of rumors about Raine and her "extracurricular activities", although most if not all were untrue. A few of the witches, vampires, and werewolves who had gotten on her bad side were happy to throw a female witch under the bus. Especially one that so many disapproved of behind closed doors. As she ended her talk, she resumed her usual dance routine, but kept it simple since she knew a conversation was up and coming for this number. Not that she minded, Ty had unknowingly just committed himself to a dance relationship.

The auras in the room were easy to ignore with the music and her partner, but Raine could feel the snapping against her heels. It was insistent and disliked being ignored, which meant a certain werewolf was staring long and hard. If only she could guess which one. Oh, would you look at that! Raine laughed softly to herself as she investigated Roscoe's aura, finding his anger flaring like a bonfire in the middle of a forest in drought. He was so easy to anger, she wondered why on earth he'd consented Ty permission to dance with her. As her great gran always said 'Never look a gift horse in the mouth'. Especially one so nice looking with a silver tongue and a way with music.

"I'm not worried about him, just curious. He's a rather angry ball of fur if you ask me, not that you'd need to. A blind human would know to steer clear of him." Raine chuckled, easing back into the conversation. "Well, I wouldn't take it personal. I don't even think his own kind know what to do with all that anger bottled up; his aura is like a time bomb waiting to be set off."

Roscoe & Ty

Although Raine had insisted otherwise, Ty had not learned of her existence through any of her suggested means, although they were both very valid options. The truth was that, as the closest subordinate member of the pack to Roscoe, Ty had helped his Alpha in many dealings with other species. Sometimes the deals included money, truces or skills, but mostly... it was information. Knowing thine enemy was something which Roscoe took very seriously and philosophy extended to even the peacekeepers of the town. What did this mean? Well, it meant that although the pack could not name all of Raine's childhood hobbies, they knew the basics of her professional life including: Name, age, coven, rank and a few sketchy rumours associated with her behaviour.
But of course, Raine had no way of knowing this. Which was why instead of the truth, Ty replied. "You're underselling yourself, Miss Mortem. I think you've many attention worthy qualities." The subordinate had no personal issues with the witches, nor the vampires for that matter, but he couldn't exactly defy his Alpha, could he? "I mean, you didn't even mention your beauty once!" He lifted one hand from Raine's waist as they danced so that he could press it against his heart in mock offence, before moving it back just as the song ended.

With the music slowing to a stop, Ty let out a gentle sigh to show his disappointment. "I wonder if I could persuade Roscoe to let me stay a little longer?" He mused out loud. Dancing with Raine had been the most fun he'd had all night, it was clear he didn't want it to end.
But, as a taller shadow loomed over the younger male's shoulder, it was clear that Roscoe had no such intention.

"Song's over. Mind if I cut in." Although those words would normally have been phrased as a question, with Roscoe, it was clearly a statement, a demand. The Alpha's grey eyes were churning with resentment as they focused on the witch's hazel ones, alluding to the fact that he had no intention of 'cutting in' just to dance. Oh no, Roscoe was going to give Raine a piece of his mind.
Opening his mouth to protest, Ty soon shut it once he heard a low growl begin in his Alpha's throat, so with an apologetic smile towards Raine the lower ranked wolf slunk back towards the pack.

"Do you think this is some form of game, witch?" Roscoe demanded, his deep voice no more than a low growl as he clearly tried to keep the conversation from being overheard by the name eavesdroppers nearby. "What do you want, really?" As someone whose sole business was creating deals and acting on 'favours', the male found it hard to believe that Raine simply wanted to dance. Had the vampires sent her? Were the witches trying to gain information? "You may be a peace keeper, but that doesn't mean my pack wants anything to do with your kind."

Raine

The witch kept her expression neutral as she listened to Ty, spinning herself closer to hear him over the music. It was also an excuse to lure more of Roscoe's anger you. She knew it was a horrible idea, but it seemed the closer she was to Ty the anger the alpha got, and irking people are her only enjoyment at these events when dancing didn't distract her. However, she stared at Ty as if in shock when he mentioned her 'attention worthy qualities'. As if... Although she wasn't one to fish for compliments, she accepted them easily. Her line of a mouth shifted into a soft smile and she spun herself back out.
"Well, you flatter me truly. Call me Raine, Miss Mortem is what they call my mother. My beauty isn't one of my attention worthy qualities, especially with grey hair at the ripe age of 19. Please don't take offense, I don't look anything like in the magazines." Her age shocked quite a few people, which never made sense to Raine. Did they assume some 25 or 30 year old looked like her? ((Read: They assumed some 15 or 16 year old looked like her. ))

As the music ended, Raine frowned and simply spun herself into a last dip. It was her final moment to get a good move in without a reliable dance partner. It might also irk Roscoe. When she came back up she'd pat Ty's arm. "If he would I'd request a faster song, you're a great dancer." The 'would' was an answer; a big fat no. There was obviously no way the alpha would allow her to pull Ty into another dance. Especially after the tension she pulled taunt the entire time she had danced.

As Roscoe cut in, Raine smiled and placed her hands directly on his shoulders. It was a bit of a reach, but a slow song was starting and she hated drawing attention to herself on the dance floor in a negative lighting. If Roscoe refused to move, she'd simply stare at him until he did. Maybe she'd snap a comment about remaining inconspicuous to him in order to urge him into a slow shuffle, if that would even work.

"A game? Excuse you, but dancing is one of my favorite past times. In fact, it's the only reason I come to your boring as hell peace nights. I'm not after anything but a damn good time and a bloody good dance partner. If you think there's something else involved you've spent too much time reading mystery novels, you bluenosed mutt." Raine kept her voice low, but snapped out at him. Her language was far for lady-like in the process, since she knew normal language wouldn't catch his attention. Most words in there are so foul a sailor would use them, not that Raine cared if it got this alpha off her tail end.

The light weight of Raine's hands on his shoulders caused Roscoe to stiffen involuntarily, his grey eyed gaze immediately darting towards the source of his discomfort, before travelling back towards the little witch with a mix of confusion and annoyance etched across his features.
"What the hell are you-" He began to hiss, until the soft tones of the new song caught his attention, alongside a few questioning glances from the slow dancing couples who were gliding much too close to not be attempting to eavesdrop. Damn it. As much as the werewolves were feared by the other creatures, the witch's commanded far too much respect to ignore, meaning that if Roscoe wanted to continue their little altercation he'd have to at least pretend to be civil. The outburst earlier in front of the other packs had been risky enough.
Which was why, with both great reluctance and a growl sounding in his throat, Roscoe slowly moved his hands over Raine's waist, letting them rest there as he pulled the female just close enough to his body to make their 'dancing' appear somewhat credible.

"Then find a blood sucker or another witch to indulge you." Roscoe snapped back as he began to lead Raine in a few simple slow dancing steps. "My wolves have more important duties on peace nights. We come here to strike deals, not to dance." He muttered, clearly missing the ironic nature of his statement considering... well, considering he was dancing at that very moment. Opening his mouth to continue his argument, the Alpha soon snapped his jaw shut again as the slew of insults spouted from Raine's mouth. Never had Roscoe heard a female say such things! He didn't know whether to be suitably impressed by the witch's ballsy attitude, or simply disgusted that a women would dare act in such an unladylike manner.
"You kiss your mother with that mouth, witch?" Roscoe demanded, his eyebrows raised in shock. However, the shock soon ebbed away, only to be quickly replaced with anger as the insults began to sink in. Almost instantly, Roscoe's nails began to form into claws as his wolf responded to Raine's words, taking them as threats against its master. "Remember who you are speaking to, girl." He growled, the words came out at a lower frequency than normal as his Alpha powers automatically began to seep out, warning Raine of his impending shift.

Luckily though, werewolves who were in a pack developed a sixth sense for whenever on of their members was on the verge of shifting, which was why merely moments later Ty reappeared at the couple's side, a tight smile plastered on his face. "Hey, guys!" He greeted both Roscoe and Raine cheerily, his voice a direct contrast to the stony expressions the pair wore on their faces. "Everything going okay over here?"
"Fine." Roscoe snapped, although the appearance of his razor sharp canine teeth told a very different story indeed.
"Okay, well, I think we should maybe go. The night is almost over and..."
"Come back when the song's over." Roscoe shot back, his eyes glowing dark red in the dimly lit room. "We're not finished here."

Raine

Tense or not, Raine was going to nab a dance from Roscoe. At least it was slow, she wouldn't trust him with her carbon dioxide let alone a dip or a spin. Besides, his expression alone said 'kill me' as soon as the song came on. Raine could never trust anyone who hated music or dance, it was like they had no happiness or joy in life. She'd seen some pretty horrible things, but she could always shake it off and go to the dance floor to get her mind off of the issues at hand. It seemed all Roscoe had was a punching bag and his bad attitude...
When she felt the hands on her hips, Raine let a small smile creep over her painted lips and chuckled softly. We was going to play the part of a dancing partner to the bare minimum at least. "You look like you're swallowing poison sweet pea." The witch remarked, making a small pout with her lips.

"And why should I? Ty has amazing hands, and he's very capable of catching my dips and keeping up with my spins. Why would I give up a dance partner like that because you told me to? Besides, if you let him dance with me it'd keep me out of your hair. If I don't have a dance partner, it's within my right to sit at whatever table I want if I feel like your temper is a threat to peace." Raine stated, tilting her head and raising her eyebrows to give him a look that said she wasn't joking. She was just begging him to say no, to dare her. It was a stupid movie, especially with his hands her sides; he could crush her torso like a grape if they weren't in a club for a truce. It took her a few moments to register the look on Roscoe's face, and she furrowed her brow and bit her lip to keep form snickering. Of course the next phrase from the alpha's mouth confirmed her language was not preferred around men, even if they said the words themselves now and again.
"No, but I sure as hell learned it from her. I can't say damn but you can? Oh lord, you're one of those wolves." Raine grumble,d wrinkling her nose as if Roscoe was a skunk or smelled like week old trash. If she had a bad opinion of the wolf before, it was almost double now. Her expression simply went from annoyed to anger. Her hair sparked a small flash in her curled bangs and she tightened her grip on the wolf's shoulders. "Put those claws away or you're going to know what it feels like to get struck by lightning my dear." The witch muttered through gritted teeth, trying not to alert those around her to his physical threat. She had slung verbal ones, and a physical one from him as a retaliation would only lead to bad news on the wolves' part.

Raine saw Ty appear, and took a moment to look at him with a pause. It was like he had materialized out of thin air. So much for being on guard. As soon as the werewolf insisted they separate, the witch began to nod. Only for the infernal pain in her arse to reject the offer.
"Actually, I think we're done here." Raine stated, moving her arms down Roscoe's shoulders to shove his elbows down. "I don't need to get claw gouges in my dress, and you don't need to be banned from truce nights or be hunted down by the covens for ignoring the truce. So let me go, and go peddle on home."

As reluctant a dance partner as Roscoe was, the Alpha knew that sometimes unfortunate situations were an inescapable means to an end, and in this case, the end was Raine leaving his pack the hell alone. Besides, he had to begrudgingly admit that he'd faired through much worse during negotiations than... well, slow dancing. Not that Roscoe allowed this fact to soften his demeanour towards the female. Hell no. In fact, the Alpha was ensuring that he paid as little attention as possible to how small and fragile Raine's body felt underneath his claws. After all, the powers a witch possessed more than made up for their garish state of mortality. Dangerous. Manipulative. Roscoe would not let himself be fooled by Raine's physical appearance, unlike his much softer Subordinate, who seemed all too happy to simply see the witch as nothing more than an attractive little female. A fact which only further enraged the Alpha, especially whenever Ty insisted on getting in the middle of things.

"Seriously, Roscoe." Raine hadn't been the only one to notice that the Alpha had yet to let go. "Let's go. The pups are tired anyway, we should go before they get edgy." Reaching out towards Raine, Ty gently placed his hands on her shoulders, before carefully guiding her back one step with a touch as gentle as Roscoe's had been guarded. Physical interaction did not phase the younger werewolf at all, in fact, he welcomes it as much as his Alpha avoided it.
The moment there was enough space between the pair, Ty stepped between them in a movement which forced Roscoe to finally drop his grip from Raine's waist and take a step backwards with a grim expression. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Raine." Ty's smile was apologetic as he raised one of Raine's hands to his lips. The subordinate was under no disillusion as to how difficult his Alpha was to deal with, after all.

"Let's go, Ty." Despite the fact that merely moments before Roscoe had been fighting to stay, the second Ty began to steal Raine's attention, his opinion changed, the growl in his throat making it clear to everyone involved that he was not at all happy about what he was witnessing. "Now."
"Fine, fine." Ty relented with a roll of his eyes as he let Raine's hand drop once more. "Until next time." He winked.

Raine

As powerful as she was power-wise, Raine wasn't always able to use them. Those darn witches who took sides usually fought her tooth and nail, and even used dirty tricks. Sometimes vampires or werewolves even paid witches to give them a spell of protective of their homes, which snuffed her magic out if they were powerful enough or she couldn't snuff the spell itself out. Humming to the tune of the song as it played, Raine didn't let the werewolf phase her as her brain slowly classified this memory as unimportant and unneeded. She had said her peace happily, and there was no reason to verbally retaliate with how anger she'd already made this wolf. It was quite the uncommon thought, but the only reason it was even considered was due to the beta at their side. While she was powerful, her physical form wasn't exactly werewolf proof.

While Raine hadn't welcomed Roscoe touch, she leaned back with Ty and allowed him to escort her a few feet from the one he called alpha. It just showed how much more respect she had, or it was just a move to make Roscoe even angrier now that she was out of his clutches and Ty was talking. She'd let his silver tongue do the work and appear innocent. The witch glanced back at her "savior", smiling softly. While Raine had moved back with Ty, she placed her feet squarely in the floor to state she wasn't moving any further. It was yet another sign to Roscoe she wasn't truly standing down to him. Raine's cape coat was hanging off the chair by a small group her coven's younger witches had claimed. While it was what usually kept her warm, the witch didn't need it for the time being. Even after they'd been separated, the warmth from Roscoe's hand as seeped through the silk-like material of Raine's dress. Ty's hands were adding to the heat of her skin, and she was coming to think she should've asked him to dance sooner.

The witch chuckled, curtsying low in a formal manner that was obviously stolen from the older and more formal female vampires in the area. "Why thank you, Ty. It has truly been a pleasure. I hope to see you next week as well." She hummed in return, leaning forward to smirk at him in a playful manner. She was close enough to be off-putting to Roscoe, but Raine assumed Ty didn't really mind. As he pulled away, she allowed her hand to slowly drop to her waist, humming the last song under her breath again. Her hand was still warm from his touch, and she savored it. It wasn't necessarily Ty that she savored, simply the fact she was given the heat she adored by a simply farewell kiss, and an angry alpha gripping her waist. What was it like to hug or press against them? She'd been so lost in their dance earlier she couldn't tell if her body moving or Ty's heat was what made her heat up. Perhaps both?

The moment all contact ended between his subordinate and the witch, Roscoe wasted no time in hustling the smaller wolf off the dance floor and back towards the restlessly waiting pack members. The tension in the room had clearly caused the younger wolves some agitation, for as tough as werewolves liked to make themselves out to be, part of their inherited canine abilities included hypersensitivity to the emotions of others. Therefore, just as many feral dogs could tell whenever their owners were upset, these particular wolves had been forced to follow every emotional twist and turn in the confrontation between their Alpha and the witch who so easily boiled his blood. It was exhausting.
"We're leaving." Roscoe announced the moment he re-entered the pack-filled corner of the hall. Although many of the pups seemed curious about what had happened on the dance floor, the moment Roscoe's gruff, borderline-hostile tone reached them, they decided to think better of it. Besides, they could always ask Ty whenever Roscoe left for bed, right?

And so, with a clatter of chairs and a hum of low grumbled, the pack of wolves left the hall in order to retreat back to the Pack House, which was located conveniently nearby. A convince which had been a mere coincidence since Roscoe would have loved an excuse not to attend any form of social gathering, period. But, as it was late and the skies had decided to open up and drench anyone who dared leave the sanctity of their homes, the closeness of the house was a blessing that night. Well, sort of. The appeal was kind of lost on Roscoe, who was still inwardly growling about that bloody red-draped witch.

- One week later -

The week passed like it always did, in a blur of scattered fights between the growing pups and loosely veiled contempt as the pack mingled with the other local packs on either social of business occasions. Whether or not they were of the same species, a level of hostility continued to exist between the packs simply because of their inherit desire to protect both themselves and their territory, something which was increasingly difficult in a city where Alphas had to live so close to their rivals and one which was only overcome whenever a female married into another pack, or an Alpha retired and agreed to join forced to ensure the survival of its' pack members.

It was due to this high threat level that even on the streets and in areas known as 'werewolf territory' that witches were crucial peacekeepers, to the extent that often a coven had to exist practically next door to the Pack Houses. Not that many of the wolves, especially Roscoe, would ever dare thank the witches for such precautions. In fact, Roscoe's irritation towards the magic welders had only heightened over the week following his less than satisfying interaction with Raine, the red dressed Mortem witch. In the days which had passed, the Alpha's wolf had struggled to settle inside him, making Roscoe much more irritable than usual, even towards his own pack. But, his faithful subordinate had a plan.
Ty had decided that the only way to break Roscoe out of his bad mood would be if he saw that Raine wasn't so bad, or else forced them both to bury the hatchet. The latter was much more believable, but that didn't mean that Ty had any clue how to make it happen. Oh well, he was just excited at the prospect of dancing again!

"Ty, hurry up." Roscoe sighed with exasperation as he turned to find the younger male preening himself in front of one of the few mirrors in the all-mall household again. "I don't know what you're expecting to happen in front of that mirror, but it's not going to, so let's go. The vampires won't wait forever."
"Vampires, huh?" Ty turned towards his Alpha with a playful smirk. "You sure that's the species you're so focused on?"
Roscoe regarded Ty's question with a blank, unreadable stare, before stating bluntly. "Get your ass outside before I shove my foot up it."

Raine

Pain. That was all she felt. It was curling down her spine in waves from her scalp. The witch grumbled as one of the coven members a year or so younger than her resumed pulling the pins that held her curls in. They snagged on baby hairs and pulled some of it out since she'd wrapped them in so tightly overnight. It was a medieval torture device made real, Raine was sure of that. As Kasey, the girl currently torturing her, finished she began to use her hands to pin Raine's bangs into a small wave that looked more like it was defying gravity as it coasted over her forehead. While the common saying stated "Beauty was Pain", Raine suddenly understood what they truly meant. Looking pretty wasn't pain, the process of getting their way. After a few more moments of Kasey fiddling with her hair, she had twisted to large curls to the top of her head; it looked like a mash between the popular Victory curls on top and the gravity hating Pin curls that fell in waves.
"Okay! We're done! Just get me to the club, you're going to de-scalp me." Raine announced with her hands going up in defense to guard what was left of her scalp, swatting the young witch away in a playful manner. After a few moments to look at herself, Raine titled her head and raised an eyebrow. Well, this is a statement... Seemed to be all her mind came up with, as it was definitely the truth.

Fitting young women, especially teenage witches, into one car was easier said than done. Raine declared the front seat her own, which left a few of her squished companions to fight over who got stuck in the middle of the back. While the witches were of their own wealth, even the luxurious black Cadillac had its limitation when it came to teenage witches with dresses and egos as large as their curls. After a few issues with shoes, hair, and dresses the group of witches sorted themselves out and were off. Albeit to a rather slow and eventful start.
Once at the club, Raine bailed as soon as the door was open, smiling as she heard the music from the street. That meant it was already a good night, especially with such a spunky pianist and silver tongued singer. Humming softly and swaying, a calm settled onto the young woman's shoulders as she made her way inside. The dimmed lights did little to divert attention from Raine as soon as she and her little gathering of witches appeared. They were later than most of the adults and other species, but being fashionably late was quite fun!

As the steps quickened on the dance floor, Raine inched her way towards it without a second thought. She just wanted to dance, although her.... attire of choice had attracted a bit too much gandering. What else would happen to someone wearing something so revealing? In her classic blood red, a dress that looked like a cross between the rockabilly fashions arising and what most would considered a social suicide. Raine's entire expanse of shoulders and arms were revealed, but the main hitter was the fact her dress had a dip so low in the front it was a wonder you couldn't see her undergarments. In fact, it appeared Raine was in fact not wearing a brassiere at all! A few females in her immediate area wrinkled their noses, others looked too shocked to speak, but a few smiled and continued dancing. Males were a different story, the deep dip almost hitting the belt she had fastened around her upper waist and tucked the dress enough to give her the appearance of curves. The only fabric holding her dress skyward seemed to be the two lengths attached to the top of the dress and tying around her neck in a neat bow. That or magic was having some part in it. Raine's pale hair quickly covered the bow, her curled waves twisting with her head. She was looking for someone. A specific someone.

The music was great tonight, and the fact it was actually a favorite singer of Raine's made it all that much better. The woman didn't hit too many high notes, keeping her voice low. Her male partner only slipped in minimally or if it called for male sung song. Raine's hazel eyes were peeling through the crowd of werewolves, carefully picking through them as she tried to find Ty. A smirk hit her lips as the song changed to a quick step number that took the backup singers to the main spot. It was a fantastic song for dancing at least, often leading to interesting steps and often too many spins to count. Even without a partner, Raine's hips and body moved with the music as she walked through the mass of bodies guarding the dance floor from any inexperienced feet. Where was that wolf at?
