Howlers of the Hollow is an RP for several members who enthusiastically wish to explore the true menacing nature of our chosen species. Werewolves are not some glorified, sexualized, furry human figures that have some wolf-like characteristics! These creatures will -prey- upon humans! Those pests.. Nothing but a bony food source, just to make them shut up. We don't identify with those beings. Not even a past memory is retained in our minds anymore. The only thing that remains is the left over genetic DNA that allows the advancements to our canine figure.


Such advancements, other than obviously being able to walk upright, are the ability to think more logically and "outside the box", some can manage a rather guttural speech of words that have been remembered (usually just commands and simplistic words, no capability of conversation), use of modified hands that are in combination with paw features, and the best traits of all could be their brute strength due to their stature, but some still very agile if not too bulky in build. So while the species -could- technically create their own civilization and probably overtake the world in domination, they're still far too primitive to set such goals. It's a balance that the rest of the living organisms should probably be very thankful of.


That being said, while a good portion of the planet will go untouched by these creatures due to their aggressive territoriality of their own established land, they can and will still clearly wreak havoc wherever they are located. Werewolves have the similar pack functionality that lupines do, however, they're referred to as clans. Clans because it's more of a group formed by truce with the will to work together in toleration to survive. And that's as far as their loyalty goes. It's still not a "family", and it's certainly not swayed to be open to outsiders. So there's no such thing as "friendly neighbors". In fact, mini wars can break out if a neighboring clan were to venture too far into another territory.


Such a powerful sub generation of immortality can really only be brought down by the use of silver infecting their bloodstream or by the hand of their own. So death is not common and thus neither is reproduction. In fact, reproduction is limited to the point where there is one season of ovulation and further regulated by the "alpha" female. Since all female werewolves within a clan mate with the alpha male, the sole purpose of having a designated female alpha is to be the "queen" to pass on higher prized traits to continue on the success of the species. Some might refer to her as the "Queen Bitch" though, since she's also the one who makes sure it Is -only- her pups that make it on to maturity.. At least with female pups. Dad is the one who can't stand competition and will either drive out males or simply kill them. Likewise, the fight that occurs between an alpha trio when a male cub is involved can get rather intense.


So how does the overly aggressive animal stay afloat as the apex predator if they're even fighting each other? Well. They really only kill when there's a need. Fighting's just kind of a sport. Once enough of the tension is released through exertion of energy, they kinda just forget about their issues and move on. It's not so much forgiveness as it is actually forgetfulness.. Who has time to hold a grudge anyway? It's not so much "kill or be killed" but, "don't mess with these fuckers, because they Can (and probably will)." And I'd politely refuse a dinner invite.. They can pack quite an appetite. The big bad wolf -Ate- Granny, man. Then had Red Riding Hood's baked goods for dessert. She was too small to bother with. Possibly saved to turn later on in life ;D
