So Lioden has dwarves, right? Why not gigantism?

(Gigantism is an extremely lethal disease in which the sufferer is abnormally large, and in a lion's case, abnormally fluffy.
The lion would only live during its cub stage, and quickly die afterward, as only the exterior of the organism is affected-- meaning the circulatory system is tiny.

Of course, there could be an alternative where Gigantism lions have a small chance of living; say about 5-10%. This would make them even more rare; and as adults, they would have sort of an overly fluffy body, with big and buff stature.)

EDIT:
Howler's suggestion IS A GOOD IDEA:

Gigantism is a non lethal disease that appears at birth. Just like dwarfism, this mutation is rare and only has a 3-9% chance of affecting a cub or cubs in a litter. Any lioness can give birth to a cub affected with gigantism but 'very low' fertile lionesses that are at least close to 1% fertility seem to have a better chance, doubled if cotton bark or any mutation increase rate items. The appearance of a cub with gigantism is when they are huge and buff with muscles. Gigantism affects your game-play as well and the lioness has a huge chance of taking down prey but has a huge bad chance of not being able to catch up with the prey. So they have like a 50-50% chance of successful hunting.

They also would have a lower speed stat but higher strength and stamina.

We have already have overgrown fur mutation which is already so very very fluffy see my lioness "Fluffy" for an example, so I'd no support this idea for now. I might change this into support though it if you can think of a better idea that I could support. Sorry! :/

What I think Gigantism should be like: Gigantism is a non lethal disease that appears at birth. The appearance of a cub with gigantism is when they are huge and buff with muscles, they seem to be the size of a tiger, they can appear in any color but the most likely color would be mongoose. Gigantism affects your game-play as well and the lioness has a huge chance of taking down prey but has a huge bad chance of not being able to catch up with the prey. So they have like a 50-50% chance of successful hunting.

Support, but only if it's like Howler's idea.

If the mutated lion has buffed muscles, why not give a small increase to the strength stat? Just an idea, since some mutations affect stats. Not sure how Gigantism affects physical strength, but worth putting out there?

Supporting though. I kinda like having mutations have a random shot of survivability.

I personally like Howler's suggestion, though without the mongoose base (why would that be a thing?). And the increased strength stats sound reasonable, but maybe followed by a drop in the speed stat (can't be easy to run when you are a giant) and also being as rare as dwarves (breed wise).
I'm kinda iffy on the lethal possibility though. If 2 versions of the mutation were made, with a lethal and non lethal one, with different cub lineart, I'd be fine. Otherwise it would be horrendous to not freeze a cub in the hopes it has the non lethal version and then it dies, leaving you with nothing.

This sounds really good! I like your idea a little better than Howlers but both are very good!

I like Howler's suggestion, although I have a few additional suggestions:

1. Gigantism increases the likelihood of an early death and I think it would be more realistic if the affected lion/ess had a chance to die around ten years.
2. Gigantism also affects the size of the hands so why not paws? 'Cause come on, who wouldn't want giant lions with paws that could smash an antelope?
