Parula slipped into the tall, yellow savannah grass, blending in with the background as she witnessed several lionesses walking around suspiciously. Their tails were up high like a flag and their ears rotated in every direction, searching for prey probably. As they advanced towards a waterhole, where a small herd of African buffalo were resting, one of the lionesses leaped over the river separating them and the buffalo. The rest of the others sprang up from the ground and began following the first as they targeted an elderly female buffalo. It wailed in distress and grunted heavily, gasping for air as a lioness pounce onto its back and dug her canines into its throat. Three of the others clung onto its sides and the last grabbed its rear end. The buffalo kicked its hoofs at the last lioness, smashing its hoof against her chest. The lioness fell down and stopped in exhaust. While the others brought down the buffalo, a successful catch.

After the four began to drag the dead buffalo carcass, one of the lioness began to approach the direction of Parula. She hesitated to run as quick as she could, but that would give her away. Instead, she tried her best to cower down and stayed as close as she could to the ground as possible. She slightly squinted her eyes, trying not to make the lioness see the brightness of her amber eyes. The lioness eyed the area around Parula suspiciously with concern, then left swiftly, following the hunters and their freshly killed buffalo.
