So I was looking at the new genetics chart, and whilst Cairngorm has joined Ashen in the Black Light Solid Special breeding since originally posting this suggestion, it looks more like a countershaded base than a solid. Therefore, I am suggesting a new solid base to further encourage breeding in the Black Light Solid Group, because since lilac left the group, it has been lacking its own weird desirable base.  And without lines:  It is a very light shade of blue to pair with Ashen in the Black Light Solid Special Group. Maybe it could be a hard to pass base similar to lilac? Or, following on from the recent news post as of 15th of September (2017) maybe it could be a combo base resulting from one of the December bases and a light base (e.g Buttermilk, Buff, Sunshine and Ashen)? Edit: Due to the next December event base confirmed to be called glacial, I've changed the name of the base to Frost. Feel free to suggest other options :3 Edit 2: I now think that this would be a base best suited to being a rare base - a light blue version of ebony. I'm sorry but I can't support with it being as difficult to pass as lilac. Lilac is nearly impossible, specifically because it's a medium special. People don't even try to breed for medium specials as often because they know it's a nearly impossible chance. And that's why bases like lilac and pearl are nearly impossible to find. Now if it were hard to breed like bases like fiery and such, I could definitely support. Just like the more regular harder to pass light/dark specials. But a light base with the passing chance of a medium special like lilac.....i just literally would not have interest because i know my chances of ever breeding one would be slim to none :c I'm not trying to sound mean, because i love the base itself! I think you did a great job! But I am still sore about how messed up medium special passing rates are, and to do that to a base that isnt even medium seems like a bad idea.  0 players like this post! The frost base was made before the genetic update had fully settled and the medium genetic issues became apparent. When I say 'similar to lilac', I mean how lilac was when it was in the light black solid special group. Besides, since Frost would be in the light genetic group, it would not be affected by the current passing rate that plagues the medium specials. Lilac has kept the same pass rate, it's just that the chance to breed a medium base (with medium parents) is less than a light/dark. I simply put lilac because the only other hard to pass bases in the black group are either the astral bases or applicable ones, and none of them are solid. 0 players like this post! Like? |

hnnng no support. I really am not a fan of blue/green/etc. bases. This is why I don't like glacial, I know at least one other person who has the same problem as well. The mock-up is really nice and clean though! 0 players like this post! Like? |

While the color does look nice I really am not a fan of the blue bases either, to me they were just too unrealistic. You could counter argue that most of the bases aren't exactly "realistic" and I would agree with you on that, but in my opinion blue just crosses a line. I feel like we have so many possibilities for blue bases, and in my opinion it just sort of looks like a toned-down glacial. Sorry, no support! I am hoping for the next December base to be perhaps a more gradient feel, instead of bold generic markings. :c 0 players like this post! Like? |

No worries ^-^ I know my base suggestion won't appeal to everyone. Although next December base was decided at the same time as glacial for last year, it is called arctic and you can see it slightly here, in the medium special black genetics:http://liodenwiki.wikidot.com/genetics If I am remembering correctly, it has even less of a gradient than glacial :( 0 players like this post!
