When in Explore I noticed how the animals will "Exhausted and close to death, the opponent uses their last ounce of strength to flee the battle, leaving you victorious!" I saw a thread about someone suggesting hooved animals dropping food and that's kinda what I'm suggesting but not quite, so please read before rejecting c:

When you encounter a Buffalo, for example, you go into battle, at the end of the battle if you win it gives you two options; kill or let live. Killing gives you bad karma, letting is survive good karma. Now when you kill it there is still a chance that it will flee, this could depend on how much health you have left at the end of the battle or just be by chance. If you do successfully kill the animal you will get a carcass c:

and well if you let it go not much happens, you just get a tiny bit of karma.

The only thing I don't really like about this is that being evil gets you more than being good. Another thread brought this point up already. Not sure what letting it survive could do...maybe decreased energy loss from the fight, because you don't use more energy to kill it? Dunno really. I just want there to be some benefit for good lions for being even.

I do like this idea, though!

I think this is a good idea! I myself have always wondered why we weren't given the opportunity to catch prey in explore through battling, especially since we have other opportunities to do so (e.g. warthog encounters, gazelle encounters, the stolen leopard meal.) However, I agree with Nelly on balancing it out, so the good lions get something out of it, too. Maybe something like:

Being the merciful beast you are, you let your victim escape. Wounded, the animal trots away with a limp in its step, heading back in the direction of its herd. Once it passes, you discover the remains of another creature looking for an easy meal, whom met its grisly end instead.

+1 Hyena Skull
+1 Medium-Sized Meat Chunk

Of course, this is susceptible to change; I just typed up a quick example. I assume it would be fair to keep it small, since (with this example) the good lions would be getting a skull and a piece of meat. As another suggestion, the skull type and portion of meat could be randomized, so as to keep the results more unpredictable.
