The ARKChat Sign Ups Current EventsThere have been sightings of Giganotosaurs increasing in numbers and starting to spread to lowlands. They are terrifying foes, and will need to be dealt with. Rule Reminders- You can tame most of the creatures here! The exceptions being invertebrates like trilobites or nautiluses. - Please try to be around others if you find your char has nobody to interact with. - Local fauna and growable plants and berries - LD's rules apply! - You can form tribes of people! RP-wise, there is a limit to how many dinosaurs you can manage by yourself, having more people means more hands for more dinos. - ARK's main point of frustration is that danger comes out suddenly and usually with no warning, decimating everything within a few minutes. Image taken from arkpedia, which also has a handy page with this image AND descriptions of the zones listed here! Current TribesNone! Why not convince other survivors to team up? Amaryllis//Female//17 Place: The Southern Islets Companions: Kobe -------------------------------------- Amaryllis roamed The Southern Islets. She was looking for something that she thought was a fulling meal. Kobe let out a growl and his head led into the direction of a parasaurus. "Looks like we found lunch boy. Quiet." hushed Amaryllis softly while crouching down. Kobe followed her command and crouched down on his haunches and began to move closely to the para. The Parasaur was munching on azulberries and was very unaware of the two slowly stalking it. Amaryllis held her spear in her hand ready to stab the beast with it. The two were very close to their target and stopped. Amaryllis took a deep breath and then threw the spears at the dinosaur. It shrieked from the pain and began to sprint away quickly. Amaryllis knew that she wouldn't be able to catch up to it, so she commanded Kobe to chase it and he obediently did. Kobe bolted as fast as he could after the para, he was extremely fast and was able to catch up to it quickly. He began to nip violently at it's hind legs and then lunged and held on to it. The parasaur tripped on a log and fell on the ground. Kobe ended it's life with a deadly bite to it's neck and then it was out. Amaryllis managed to catch up with him and looked at Kobe's kill. "Good job boy." she praised him and began to cut the meat off the creature. Kobe stayed alert while she harvested. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Jac|female|14 Location: The Southern Shore Interacting with: Jac extinguished her small fire with her 'bottle' of water. She'd been on the Ark for only two days and was already learning how things were. If she didn't completely put out the fire, it would turn into a giant blaze that she would end up running from. And she couldn't risk that happening again. With a sigh, she sat back, her feet folded underneath her. Everything was all so strange here, and that wasn't even counting the dinosaurs. She'd screamed when she saw her first one, a tiny compy. It had seemed equally as surprised to see her. Memories of Jurrassic Park in her head, she'd wasted no time killing the thing before it -- and its buddies -- killed her. Turns out, compy meat wasn't that bad. Of course, grilling it over a fire her first night had had... unintended consequences. Firstly, there was the minor forest fire that she may or may not have caused. Secondly, there was that roar from the jungle in the morning. Whatever that thing was, she didn't want to meet it. Thirdly, another presence in the jungle that she still felt. She'd seen nothing but a flash of silver every once in a while, but she could feel eyes watching her everywhere she went. It had also eaten what was left of the grilled compy while her back was turned, and she was not happy about it. She was just about to grumble that it had better not steal her fruit when it, whatever it was, knocked her over from behind. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Lin|female|19 Location: The Southern Islets Companions: Troodon Pack Interacting with: Amaryillis ______________________________ Lin stood up and stretched. Didi was sleeping not far from her. Jill and the others had clearly been hunting last night, as there was a carcass of a dyrosaurus beside her. The pack had finished eating, but there was still some meat left. She cut it from the body of the dyro, and proceeded to start a small fire. Lin slowly grilled the meat, using a spoke to make sure it was evenly cooked. As she ate, she tossed bits and pieces of the meat to the pack as a reward for hunting. She doused the fire with what was left of her water supply. Lin picked up the woven basket, lined with large leaves to hold water, and started walking towards the nearby stream she had been refilling it in for the past few days. As she knelt down, she heard an agonized roar to her left. She called the pack with a whistle, and ran in the direction of the sound she had heard. It didn't take long for the troodons to catch up, and she came to a stop as she saw a girl bending over a dinosaur carcass. There was a direwolf standing next to her. The girl had a bloody spear in her hand- probably what she had used to wound the dinosaur while the wolf took it down. 0 players like this post! Like? Amaryllis//Female//17 Place: The Southern Islets Companions: Kobe Interacting with: Lin --------------------------------- Amaryllis wiped the sweat from her brow while cutting the thick meat from the animal. Kobe smelt the scent of nearby animals, possibly humans and troodons, Kobe let out an warning growl but Amaryllis didn't hear it. He stood up and began to sniff out the animal, and when he turned around, he saw what the creature or creatures was. He was right, there was a pack of troodons and also a human. He let out a harsh snarl at them, hoping it'll scare them all away. Amaryllis heard the snarl and turned around to see the bunch, her eyes widened with caution. She slowly packed the meat into her bag and settled it on her back. "..Who are you?" she inquired a bit harshly while planning to make a getaway. She held a whistle like object in her hand. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Alex | Male | 20 Place: Southern Shore Interacting with: Alex sat on the beach quietly listening. As he sat, the boy continued to sharpen a stick that was about as long as he was tall, which was about 6'2. He sat with his back against the water, watching the forest. He he man hadn't been here all that long, but he knew that death came from the forest. Leaves rustled, keeping his alert and his muscled bunched in order to attack. He heard the growls and howls of wolves and the moaning of other beasts. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Nick | Male | 25 Location: The Footpaw Interacting With: N/A Nick let out a relaxed sigh as he laid on the beach of The Footpaw island. Lucky for him, there were only around 10 dodos near him, which was perfect because today felt like the perfect lazy day. What makes a lazy day even more perfect? Throwing tiny rocks at dodos, of course. He hadn't laughed so hard in a long time, watching the birds run around frantically and make honks of distress. His megalocerus, Bo, just stared at Nick with what seemed to be a disappointed frown. "What? Don't judge me." Nick said, looking back at Bo. "I'm having fun. It's not like I'm killing the little bastards." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Lin|female|19 Location: The Southern Islets Companions: Troodon Pack Interacting with: Amaryillis _________________________________ Lin heard the girl's question, but chose not to answer. Her troodons advanced in front of her. They were growing restless, snarling at the dire wolf, who they were not remotely frightened of. She signaled them to quiet, and they obeyed. Lin observed the other girl closely, noticing a small object in her hand. A whistle. So she had other animals. It might not be the best choice to attack her if she didn't know what she was up against. She was careful not to let this fact show, as it was always best to look like you had the upper hand in a situation. 0 players like this post! Like? Varis || Male || 17 Location: The Maw Companions: Adami Interacting with: N/A Varis let out a huge yawn as he patted the large Spinosaurus's leg, a smile left on his facial as he watched the nearby river and the life that thrived along it, carefully observing the young dinos that were about. He looked up towards Adami, seeing that he was distracted by a Pteranodon off in the distance, chuckling softly as his hues rolled to keep track of where the flying creature went. Until moments later, where the creature went out of sight. Adami looked down towards Varis, his eyes clearly showing he wanted to leave to go somewhere else for the day, instead of staying near the camp. Varis silently climbed aboard the Spinosaurus, almost slipping off the giant carnivore as he got on, heading off towards the Eastern Forest, wondering if it was time to tame a new dinosaur after gathering many narcotics and food. (Usually my first post's are off, It's been a very long time since I've rped dino's so forgive me if I make a mistake, I'm like this with all my roleplays) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Kaeris | Female | 27 Location: The Maw Companions: Flower, Thunder and Lighting Interacting with: Varris (implied) Kaeris let out a long sigh, today was another drawn out day as her shack creaked and swayed with every step Flower took. She'd only set out from their anchor on the Northern Shore three weeks ago, and it already felt like an eternity. Kaeris made a meek living traveling an established trade route, servicing other survivors with metal, narcotics and pelts from the north in exchange for the chitin (sometimes finished cementing paste) She needed to maintain her home on her beloved bronto's back. A recent spino attack had damaged several of the straps that held the platform secure onto Flowers back. That had set back her schedule a month and she was having to cut corners by taking an unfamiliar route to make up for lost time. The large creature came to the stop and let out a low moan as her head swiped from one side to the next, normally Flower could make their route without Kaeris to guide but she was understandable weary of the interior of the island. Kaeris sighed looking up from her mortar and pestle, she'd been in the middle of making another run of narcotics when they'd stopped. She groaned and slowly got up and headed out the 'front door' towards a platform where a pai of oversized reigns rested. " Do you smell something girl?" She asked Flower and leaned on the railings looking around and spotted what had caused her mobile base to stop, fresh spino tracks... " That's not good..." She frowned and looke back at the door. There, Thunder trotted out behind her and chirped as he surveyed for danger, Lightning simply leaned her head out with a quiet look of wonder... wonder if she'd get to go on a hunt. " Come on Lightning, we need to go scout..." She said and began to drive Flower over to a cliff that closely matched the level of the platform. "Stay here Flower..." Kaeris said before going inside and carefully lowered a wall that doubled as a boarding plank. Lightning was quick to walk the plank and appeared quite happy to be on solid ground. Kaeris crossed and took the time to raised the wall again before she mounted the large bird and took off fallowing the tracks, she needed to know how far off that spino was, and if it was directly in her path... 0 players like this post! Isaac | Male | 23 Location: The Footpaw Companions: Fox Mentions: Nick (Indirectly) ------------------------------------------- Isaac planted the last sharpened stake into the ground, sinking it in about six inches, before steppin back to survey the area. In a line before him stretches several stakes making a sort of 'fence' for his land. It was less to keep people out and more to let them know there was shelter nearby, however. And hopefully a slight deterrent to predators that might cause him trouble. Maybe. He whistled sharply, calling Fox to him; he was about to head back, and although he knew the little Dilo would follow, he liked to keep an eye on her. Almost immediatly a response chirp came to him, followed by another, slightly farther. Isaac frowned, brushing a hand through his dark hair. "What is it?" He started towards the last noise, spotting a glimpse of her tail before it vanished in front of him. So a game of follow, I guess... Fox continued forward, occasionally chirping back to Isaac. She had found something, another human and a dinosaur in fact. And, curious as she was, she wanted to see. And she wanted Isaac to see. Pausing a moment on the edge of the brush, the scent of dodos again came to her nose, and the Dilo licked her lips before hopping out of the bush to stare curiously at the human with her vivid eyes. Isaac followed, stepping out just behind her and squinting in the sudden brightness. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Fume | Female | 23 Location: Southern Shores Companions: Michi / Ringo Mentions: Alex xxx Morning was a welcome for Fume. She could hear Ringo already calling out over the waves, likely trying to catch himself a coel, and as her vision slowly improved as she rubbed the blurriness of sleep from her eyes, she could see the misshapen dark form of Michi in the sand, mouth open as she warmed up. Fume shifted in the small hammock she usually slept in, untying various dinosaur pelts sewn together with plant fibers that she used as either blankets or rain flies. By the time she was done with that, Ringo crashed into the underbrush, a half-chewed on coel in his beak. How thoughtful, Fume thought as she slipped down the tree, taking the fish from Ringo and patting the ptero's crest. With a small, rattling cry, Ringo took to wing again, and Fume whistled to Michi, telling the large sarco she was nearby, to not surprise her, before throwing the fish into the crocodile's mouth. Michi's mouth snapped around the fish, and she sluggishly followed Fume back to the tree she rested in. staying just out of the shade so she could continue sunning and waiting for if another fish would come into her mouth. It didn't take long for Fume to break down her camp and for Ringo to bring back another offering, which was promptly given to Michi, who was now actively nosing and following Fume for more. Fume gave a few whistle calls to Ringo to prevent him from escaping off to the ocean to hunt. She was going to need him, and she jumped up into the saddle built for him, checking the straps that held it before taking off into a slow flight above the waters, Michi following behind, almost making a game of trying to keep up or outpace the slower movement of the pteranodon. Michi wasn't kept entertained like that for long, though. As Fume traveled down the southern shores, she decided to take her eyes off the ground to eat a breakfast of dried meat and some tintoberries. When she looked back after wolfing down a few berries and starting to chew on her jerky, she couldn't see Michi. She jerked on Ringo's reigns, making him go back around, trying to see where the Sarco was. Michi, though, had slid up out of the water, finding someone new to see if they had fish. With a powerful thrust, the Sarco shot out of the water, sliding onto the sand to gently nose the new human in the back. While not the one she was familiar with, Michi recognized the shape meant fish, which she quite liked. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Alex | Male | 20 Place: Southern Shore Interacting with: Fume Alex was contently sharpening his wooden spear, every now and then, checking to make sure nothing had come out of the forest. He seemed pretty safe. A growl erupted from his stomach as he sat on the beach, making him groan. He wasn't one for berries, but he hadn't made any tools that could kill the devils. Hopefully this spear would do him some good. Suddenly, he felt something gentle nudge his back. Adrenaline and fear course through his veins. With a cry, he jumped up and pointed his spear in the direction of the enormous beast. Heart pumping and eyes wide open, he watched it carefully. It didn't seem to really want to hurt him. It looked like it was expecting something from him. But why would a devil like this want something from him? Alex gripped his spear until his knuckles grew white. He didn't want to die! Not yet anyway! He still had to figure out what he was doing here, and what this diamond thing was. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Lin|female|19 Location: The Southern Islets/Near Southern Shores Companions: Troodon Pack Interacting with: None yet - can't magically travel to where Fume and Alex are. Lin decided it was best to ignore the girl, and climbed onto Flynn's back. The troodon turned tail, no longer interested in the other animal or person, and started to run, the rest of the pack following not far behind her. She traveled like this for a while, stopping to dismount about every 15 minutes or so to switch to another dino and give the one she had been riding a break. She was now relatively near to the Southern Shores. (I don't really know how big the island is, so please let me know if it's too far to travel in such a short time. (Troodons usually run at 10- 20mph, if that helps{One mile every 3-6 minutes} but can only keep this up for a short time, like 15-20 minutes.) 0 players like this post! Like? Amaryllis//Female//17 Place: The Southern Islets - The Eastern Plains Companions: Kobe & Andromeda Interacting with: N/A ----------------------------------------------- Amaryllis watched as the other girl jump on one of the dilo's back and run off, she was glad that the left so she wouldn't have to fight them. A screech of a whistle rumbled across the island, if you gazed up you could see an argentavis hovering over. Amaryllis whistled with her finger and the argent came and landed peacefully. "Hello Andromeda!" greeted Amaryllis while going over to her and petting her. The argent chirped happily meaning 'hello'. "Come on, time to go back to The Eastern Plains." she said and hopped on Andromeda's back. The argent began to take off, Kobe looked up and waited for them. Andromeda swooped down and picked him up in her claws. The three began to fly back to where base was. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Lin|female|19 Location: The Southern Shores Companions: Troodon Pack Interacting with: Alex, Fume __________________________________ Lin dismounted Ryan and shook herself a few times to get her blood circulating. She noticed the quiet gurgling of a stream, and refilled her water bottle. Lin found a comfortable place to sleep, sure her dinos would keep watch, and drifted off for a few hours. When she woke, the sun was still high in the sky. She estimated it had been two or three hours, as it had been morning when she started traveling. The troodons were asleep beside her, save Jill, who was currently keeping watch. She whistled, and the troodons awoke, Didi the first to fully stand. She mounted said dinosaur and continued towards the Southern Shores. 0 players like this post! Like? |
