Jack is a young man of average height (he is 'fun sized' not short, thank you) at exactly 5'7" and weighing somewhere around 145 pounds. He may seem overly thin at first appearance, but is quite athletic, made up of lean muscle. He has short dark ginger hair that more often than not looks to be a bit on the scruffy side and his eyes are a light shade of gray that can appear somewhat silvery depending on the lighting. He has a light brown skin tone and faint, but still visible freckles dot along his cheeks and over the bridge of his nose.

Jack tends to wear mostly light colored clothing (usually blue or gray). He’s quite capable of pulling off formal wear for special occasions, but other than that his fashion sense could probably be described as a bit casual and boring. People often ask if his hair is natural or dyed. He let's them make their own conclusions since they don't seem to believe him when he says it's his God given hair color.

Jack lost part of his left arm in an accident and now wears a prosthetic.

I asked her a few months ago if she minded me using it off Tumblr and she said go for it, but I guess I don't technically have proof of that conversation so I can remove it if you prefer. :: Personality ::
He’s a stubborn one to say the least. Proud, presumptuous and sometimes a very difficult person to get along with. Never afraid to speak his mind no matter who it might offend. Despite the type of impression the above might give, most of the time Jack is a pretty friendly guy. He likes talking to different people and is always up for making a new friend.

He generally has a live and let live sort of attitude, but if he thinks what you are doing is genuinely wrong then he’s going to let you know. Loudly. A self-proclaimed master of humor, he enjoys trying to get others to laugh, even at his own expense if necessary. He also has a lesser known talent for art and music. At times he might come across as a bit too unprofessional and frivolous to be effective at much of anything, but the dude still manages to get his job done somehow.

:: Occupation & Residence ::
He has an apartment in town and rooms with another teenager as neither would be able to pay the rent on their own. If anyone wants to roleplay his roommate feel free.

He has two jobs. The first being at a local fast food restaurant and the other at a small museum dedicated to fossils and historical artifacts.

He's taking a break from school after graduating, but would like to eventually go to college and major in paleontology.

:: Strengths & Weaknessess ::
+ Jack can change form into any animal he wishes so long as he keeps part of their pelt with him. His most common and favored form is that of a Coyote, though he has also been known to shift into a Red Fox, Northern Harrier, Common Raven, an orange-furred mixed breed dog and a ginger Domestic Shorthair cat on various occasions.

+ Skinwalkers are said not to be able to walk or move properly in animal form, which is a tell-tale sign that the creature is indeed not a normal animal. For whatever reason Jack does not share this weakness, but his eyes retain a rather oddly human appearance instead.

+ Agile, quick and retains a sort of wiry strength in that he doesn't look especially intimidating, but
is still quite physically capable.

= Dormant magical abilities. They're there, he was just never taught how to use them. This could turn into a positive or a negative depending how things go. If he learns how to control them they could become a strength, but magic is often unpredictable and dangerous in the hands of the inexperienced.

- He has an aversion to cedar ash and juniper berries. Keep them to yourself please. He'll break out in awful, itchy hives and also potentially stop breathing. Darn allergies. Corn pollen also makes him sneeze something fierce.

- Impulsive. He can get himself into quite the mess by acting without thinking something through.

- He can not transform at all if he doesn't keep a part of the animal's pelt with him.

:: Brief History ::
Jack was born pretty far from his current residence. He grew up in a small town in Nevada, the only child of a white Latino father and a mother of mixed Native American heritage (namely Navajo and Northern Paiute). His father bailed on them pretty early on in his life to the point where Jack can barely remember what he looks like, but his mother has always been an important part of his life. He doesn't appear very eager to talk about his past and avoids it at all costs considering his kind are generally considered evil among humans and many other mythical beings alike.

Navajo legend tells that a skinwalker is created when a shaman who has reached the highest level of priesthood commits a grave sin against a closely bonded relative and wears the pelts of animals in order to transform into them. Other legends say skinwalkers are merely human beings who have obtained supernatural power by breaking a cultural taboo. A person is said to gain this power upon initiation into the Witchery Way, a malicious ritual meant to curse instead of heal. Therefore, a skinwalker is never just a man or woman who can transform into beasts, but also a witch/warlock.

Traditionally, the skinwalker is a malevolent creature, instilling fear into their human victims and leaving suffering in their wake. Jack does not appear to retain any of these traits however and has never proven to be of particularly ill intent thus far. How or why he became a skinwalker seems to be a bit of a mystery. Perhaps he is something else entirely in that case. Something that doesn't yet have a name of it's own.

A portion of his left arm was lost in a rather nasty bus accident when he was only 15. Jack and his mother had been using public transportation to get to a doctor's appointment of all places when the bus suddenly careened off the road and crashed over the side of a cliff, killing most of it's occupants including Jack's mother. He spent months in the hospital and then went to live with his grandmother for a time before moving to Aspen Heights.

Appearance:
In his beast form there is really no other way to describe Devdan other than some strange cross between a wolf and a hyena with a single twisted gray horn protruding from his forehead. His fur is shaggy and dark brown while his eyes are a deep shade of crimson. Long yellow bone-like teeth line his mouth and overgrown black claws extend from his toes. The front paws are flexible and almost cat-like in mobility. He has a bushy gray-black nub for a tail, strong legs and large pointed ears that curl inward at the tips. His muzzle is short and broad with a slightly upturned gray-black nose and a considerably sloped back. Faint, blackish spotting covers his back and sides. He can stand and run on both two or four legs.

As a human Devdan is rather tall standing at 6'0" and weighing somewhere around 196 pounds. He has medium brown skin with ochre undertones. His hair is short, scruffy and dark brown in color with black tips, generally appearing as if he rarely runs a comb through it. His eyes remain the same shade of red and his canine teeth are much longer than the average human leaving many to mistake him for a vampire. His build is athletic and powerful. He tends to wear khaki capri shorts, cameo shirts and the same pair of beaten up tan sneakers all year long. Despite his lack of care concerning his appearance he still comes across as rather good looking, or so he thinks at least.

Clearly I am still the best at describing dem humans.

Personality:
Cocky and egotistical. Devdan is a bit self-absorbed. His name does mean "gift of the gods" after all. He can come across as either charming or smug depending on his mood and whether he's trying to leave a good impression on whoever he's talking to. He is impulsive and bull-headed, often acting before thinking, rushing right into a situation instead of planning it out first. He tends to be a brute strength over brains kind of guy, thinking a show of force will solve all of his problems. He's not actually the brightest crayon in the box and can be easily tricked or manipulated by others. He has a violent streak that can get ugly if not gotten under control within the first few seconds of a fight and tends to hold grudges for a very long time. Crocotta are said to be the mortal enemy of both men and dogs, but Devdan absolutely loves dogs and volunteers at the local animal shelter in his spare time.

Occupation & Residence:
Currently unemployed. Student. Despite still being in high school he lives on his own since his parents aren't around anymore. They left him their small, one-story home before booking it.

Relationships:
Despite relentlessly teasing him, he considers Ryder his best friend and is honestly super gay for him, hoping he can someday convince the Dullahan to go out with him.

Strengths & Weaknesses:
+ Vocal mimicry: He's able to mimic many sounds, including both human voices and animal calls.

+ Superhuman Strength: Do you even lift bro?

+ Soul draining: He can suck the soul out of a human corpse, but the price here is he must kill them first. For obvious reasons this isn't a power he can use here.

= Shapeshifting: He has two forms. One of a man and one of a hyena-like beast. Listing this as neutral since it's a trait shared by almost all supernaturals here.

- Sharp Objects: Stab this guy in the back of the neck with any sharp weapon and he's down for the count.

- Clumsy: He might be strong, but he also tends to be impulsive. If he were chasing someone for example he'd probably be so focused on the pursuit he'd stumble all over the place or run into a brick wall.

- Water: He has a strange aversion to deep bodies of water. Don't expect him to go swimming any time soon.

Brief History:
He totally killed his whole family! Just kidding. :P

His parents moved to Aspen Heights from India only a few months before he was born. When he was around 16 they decided to return to their homeland, unable to deny their nature any longer as their lust for human souls grew stronger and stronger with every year they abstained. Devdan had considerable more self-control and since the town was the place he knew best he made the decision to stay behind, forging signatures and mimicking his parents' voices for phone calls in order to avoid being placed in a foster home. He's gotten by well on his own so far.
