History

As the earth grew and changed, the animals we all know today took on great many shapes and mutations, all to keep up with the ever changing climate. Drought, horrible storms, and terrible sun rays destroyed most life, the few remaining radiated a dark twisted path before them- to change their ways or be eaten by time. Monsters were born and with them great empires of trees and life sprouted from the dead earth. Today the planet is covered with strange land formations, mysterious plant life, and every sort of carnivorous creature imaginable. Humans are a shadow of the past. Only the Felis Catus (our proud feral cats) retained their sentience, for when StarClan beheld the destruction below they paid the ultimate sacrifice and sold their souls to the other great afterlife kingdoms. In doing this the angels of the past paid in kind and whenever a new cat was born they were gifted with the spirit of an animal of the ancient and extinct. Mutating their forms the cats would hold the skills and appearance of the creature their soul joined with, and with this new development all the cats came together to create the single and great ChimeraClan, to rule and survive forevermore.

What do they looks like?

Each one is a special snowflake; the cats’ appearances are dependent on their spirit animal, one they have joined with at birth. They are still feline in appearance and are always more cat-like than anything else, however they do possess features of other animals. They are all chimera, and have different animal parts, these give them specific strengths and superpowers. For example a shark cat may have extremely terrifying teeth and a shark tail making them better swimmers, while a rabbit cat can have large ears for hearing and powerful back legs for sprinting. The animal a cat bonds with is chosen at birth and is dependent on the cat’s personality, so a loud cat may be a parrot, while a cat with a low temper could be mixed with a badger. One thing to keep in mind is that no matter the animal the cat will always have a cat head and eyes, and while small features (fangs, ears, noses) may change the rest will stay cat-like. The most desired animal mixes are those of the great wild cats, such as the one’s the warriors revered in the past. A lion or tiger cat has a better chance of rising in rank however they are quite rare. Very rarely a cat will mix with a creature from even before the time of their ancestors (ex. Dinosaurs, ice age mammals, etc). Cats that mix with anthropods (insects, crustaceans, arachnids) stay the size of kits, however they are looked down upon and banished from the clan for it is believed these cats are inheritably evil. (they are then allowed to be rogues)

Cat Names [/large]

They may be lyrical and interesting considering the world these cats live in. Very often the prefix is that of the animal they’ve mixed with. Please however allow the names to describe the cat and please do not include words that could be considered unnatural.

(Ex. Sharktail for the shark cat, Brightwing for the parrot cat, and Thickfur for the polar bear cat. Not allowed would be something like Vampiresoul because dragons are mythical and Darkwish, or Dreamfall because they do not describe the cat or their skills)

The territory is situated on the lower side of a mountain on surprisingly fertile grounds and filled with surprisingly dangerous foes. It is littered with tall dark pines, some of these growing for hundreds of years. South is the dangerous Barelands where a strong tailwind blows through, ruffling the dense grasses. Completely surrounded by mountains and crags the cats are essentially trapped here with nothing but their wits to survive the rapidly changing climate and the many predators that stalk them.

Camp – Their camp is surrounded by an incredibly high shield of porcupine grass, mutated thick quills of plant that protect the camp from all manner of monsters. Inside are smooth stone domes, these are used as nests and have been carved by the cats over many many moons. Inside each dome is necessary warmth, a life savior during the brutal winters. The Leader sleeps inside a huge quartz dome simply called The Quartz, this is also where they will give speeches and preform ceremonies, standing tall on top of the towering rock. The medicine cat lives right next door in a smaller quartz dome attached to the leader’s, it is shorter but very wide and can house many wounded cats if needed.

River – Next to camp is the river that snakes all throughout the western part of the territory. It is the main source of water for the clan and is full of tasty slips. Just be careful of muckers hiding in deeper areas.

Moor – A grassy and clear area, it is surprising safe as most predators do not like coming out in the open. Because of this it is the perfect place to train apprentices.

Pines – These ancient and tall pines cover the majority of the territory. They are rough needled and very dense in some areas while sparse in others. Pumfs, Sniffy, and Chargers can be hunted among the evergreen, however beware the tiger birds and crunch that also hunt in the area.

Mountains – Surrounding the entire territory are the mountains, taller than anything, these skyscrapers block in the cats, forcing them to stick to their alpine home. Sometimes distant roars can be heard, these mysteries are normally ignored however.

Darkwood – Named so because the overhead trees are so tangled and thick that barely any light makes it past them. Because of this the ground is dusty and clear except for the gnarled roots of the thick trees that tower as tall as skyscrapers above. The tangles of branches are very climbable and flying cats may enjoy flapping about and preforming acrobatic maneuvers. Pumfs, frogger, skimp, flutter-by, and snapdragons can be hunted here. Beware of the snap traps that can hide in the dark along with colonies of squirms. There are rumors of another dark beast lurking in the nest of leaves but it has yet to be confirmed as real.

Waterfall – This part of the river falls into a long waterfall that crashes down on the rocks below, the current is strong so cats are advised to not swim near it no matter how good of a swimmer they are.

Cliff- The rocky shear where the waterfall lies, it is steep and while sometimes very rarely deerling can be found here it is dangerous with its loose rocks and sharp falls.

Mushroom Grove – Full of mutated fungus, this is a medicine cat sanctuary. Some of the mushrooms have intense medical properties, some with which the cats couldn’t live without. However one must be knowledgeable for some of these shrooms are poisonous enough to strike a cat dead. The magical glowing mushroom can also be found here, medicine cats may eat it and converse with what is left of StarClan.

Barelands – A vast dry grassland that is full of nothing but wind and little tasty deerling. However no patrol way wander into it without severe reason for in the skies hunt the deadly pierce hawks and eagles. Their swipes can decapitate an entire patrol. For this reason, only in the direst of famine, may cats hunt here.

Lake – Shimmering and beautifully reflective, many mysteries surround its depths. Few cats visit its shores due to the lurking pierce hawks but one such cat, a past leader known as Lionstar, claimed there were monsters inside. Because of the way it shines under the night sky the medicine cats revere it as holy and as a reflection of Starclan.

Prey (in order from easiest to catch to hardest)


Pumfs – Tiny fat fluffy birds that cannot fly well, easy prey.

Deerling – Tiny deer with big hooves just a bit smaller than a cat, they are very shy but slow and make very easy but fulfilling prey. However they are only found in the barelands where pierce hawks fly.

Slips – Slippery little buggers, these bright red and yellow fish swim in the river but need training assistance if they are to be properly caught.

Frogger – Basically Hercules beetles with frog feet, easy to catch but hard to eat because of their exoskeleton.

Skimp – A long tiny lizard with hard plates on their back. They must be killed with a bite to their soft underside. They are easy to spot because of their glowing tail used to attract bugs.

Caw - A bipedal lizard with a parrot beak and a long wispy tail. They run about the barelands swiftly. Their screech is deafening, so break their neck before they scare all the prey away or worst, attract a pierce hawk.

Sniffy – a small 6-legged mouse with compound eyes and a hard shell. All of their senses are very acute so much care must be taken to sneak up on this bugger.

Flutter-by – A songbird-sized dragon with fairy wings. They are extremely fast but can be snatched from the air. Be careful though for their beaks are venomous, and can cause paralysis.

Snapdragon – a strange half plant half reptile. A giant red flower with thorny vines that whip out and try to catch you, they have many eyes around their base. The flower bulb is fleshy and good to eat if killed.

Charger – Large boar creatures with bear paws that are extremely dangerous!! However one can feed several cats for weeks. Never hunt one alone.

Predators ( in order from least threatening to most deadly )


Snap Trap – A carnivorous plant that can grow basically anywhere from in a tree to underwater. They are not too dangerous as long as another cat can help you get unstuck from their jaws.

Squirms – Ant sized snakes that travel in huge colonies. Never cross their paths because there will literally be thousands of them and they will strip you to the bone like piranhas.

Tiger Bird – A large flightless bird that is very much like a tiger-printed ostrich. These however are brightly colored and venomous with serrated teeth. They create dens under tree trunks and can be dangerous if close to camp.

Mucker – A disgusting smelling underwater creature that blends in well with the stones and mud. They will strike swiftly and their jaws can engulf a cat whole!

Crunch – named after the sound their jaws make crunching together, they are fox-sized and swift with deer-like legs. Their jaws are four beaks that can shut with such force they can rip a cat in two.

Pierce Hawk – Possibly the most dangerous, these horse-sized birds will eat anything. They are quick and will simply swoop down and capture a cat, eating as they fly about. Luckily they stick to the barelands.

Pierce Eagle – three times as large as the pierce hawk, this terrifying beast is a two headed dragon with crushing jaws, sabre like talons, and wings so strong they can flatten trees. This beast is extremely rare and may only be seen every 20 some years making it a sort of legend. Kits are told that if they are bad they will be swooped out of their nests by the monster.

The Lake God – A complete mystery, it was a giant sea monster spotted in the lake by a single cat, a past leader known as Lionstar. He described it as a giant whale with a serpentine head filled to the brim with teeth. Lionstar swore that the creature looked him in the eye and told him a message from the fallen Starclan. It is unknown if the creature really exists, it could all be a myth, but no cat dared question the leader’s integrity.

Rules

-must follow the lore of the rp. All cats are mixed with an animal, no more than one and no less. Pelts must have natural coloration, same for animal parts. Remember, the cats are more ‘cat’ than anything else. Also your character’s name must describe your cat and make sense.

-no one-liners. Please try to write in a paragraph-ish form. Also try to keep spelling mistakes to a minimum.

- No perfect cats!! Because each cat is connected to an animal they tend to focus on that animal’s specific strengths AND weaknesses. (ex. A hummingbird cat could be able to fly really fast but might be a poor fighter!)

-If you are inactive for over 2 weeks your cat could be deleted, so please stay active! This goes double for leaders, medicine cats, and deputies.
