Please go HERE to sign up and chat about the thread and everything. The idea for this RP was inspired by the amazing books No Safety in Numbers and Monument 14. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ The day of the quarantine was nothing special. It was hot, somewhat cloudy. The air was a bit hazy, it felt dry. Typical weather for the small town of Southbrooke. Georgia's always hot in the summer. The mall was always a good place to hang out. Completely indoors, it was sheltered from the heat. Maybe that's why you were there the day of the quarantine. Maybe it was to hang out with friends. Go shopping. Just simply to get out of the house. Whatever reason you had for coming to the mall, it doesn't matter anymore. Nothing matters. You're all going to die in here... The quarantine started out normal. The mall had only been open a few hours, when by chance an employee stumbled upon a device attached to the air vent in the ac room. Upon inspection, the device was declared not to be a bomb, to everyone's relief. Turns out it was something worse. Upon trying to remove the device, it fried itself, burning from the inside out. No one knew what it had done. However, suspecting something had been released into the vents, police quarantined the mall. After realizing they'd made the wrong call, it was too late to undo the damage, and the mall was forced to remain in quarantine until they knew figured out what the device had done. Unknown to them, it was an engineered super virus, designed to infect people coming and going through the mall. If it hadn't been discovered, the whole city could have been exposed. The disease works according to blood type. With each blood type comes a different symptom. It may affect people differently, but it is one disease. Be careful, because anyone who has it is highly contagious. Regardless of weather you are the same blood type or not, anyone can infect you. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ This is technically an open world rp. Anything can happen. I've made versions of this rp on many forums, and whatever you do will affect the plot. I've done versions of this before where the mall was burned to the ground in a riot, where the disease was cured and everyone walked free, gangs have overtaken the mall before, leaders have risen up and tried to establish order, anything you want to happen can happen. But it all depends on who your characters are and what they choose to do. This isn't an rp for characters who like to stand in the background and watch. This original post will be edited as time goes on, because of the disease progressing. Just some new rules and edits, please keep up with them. Message me with questions or things that don't make sense, I will explain and/or correct whatever it is. I am also open to ideas anyone had that they think will make this better. Character SheetsNo thread generated. The original poster of this RP thread will be able to generate one for this feature.0 players like this post! Like? Derek | 17 | Type A- | Agression A man in the mall died today. Diego saw it happen. The man had a heart attack in the middle of the food court while he was buying us lunch. The doctors weren't around, by the time they found someone, the man was dead, and they couldn't save him. It's been 3 days. 3 days since they found the thing on the air vent. 3 days since they locked us in here. At first they acted like it was only gonna be for a few hours, they all thought they'd be home in time for dinner. Now, all the people in charge won't answer any questions, won't even talk to us, just hide behind the cover of their dark sunglasses. Lot of government people got locked in here too. Stuck same as we are, but at least they know what's going on. They have a base or whatever in the Apple Store. All the government people, mall cops, anyone with any kind of authority is there, watching us through the glass. Everyone hates it. There's talk of a riot. Kevin, the loudmouth that he is, is constantly blabbing on about how he'd be the first to join a riot, about how we got rights and they can't lock us in here. I mean, he's got a point, but it gets old. A riot doesn't seem like the way to go either. Diego coughs loudly, shaking Derek from his thoughts. The coughing doesn't stop, and he leans over into the wall for support. Derek, Diego, and their four friends are outside the Nike store, waiting around, being bored. The coughing doesn't stop for nearly 30 seconds, drawing eyes. "Dude, you ok?" Derek asks when it finally stops. "Yeah." He coughs. "I dunno, might've gotten something from being stuck in this damn mall for so long. My throats been itching all day." "Same here," Cooper adds in. They met him yesterday. "Must be a cold. Or maybe the air. It feels dry...stale, I guess." "I feel fine," Derek says. "Must be a cold." "Yeah." Harper | 16 | Type A+ | Paranoia Harper's filling her nails when she hears foosteps behind her. Getting closer. She tenses, freezing for a moment before she hears the voice. "Hey Harper, what's up?" It's Vikki, the girl who sleeps across from her. The first night in the mall everyone mostly slept wherever they could, no one had thought they'd have to spend the night. But imeadiately the next day, they had people to work converting certain stores into sleeping areas. That's when Harper knew they were screwed, that they were gonna be here for a while. The pottery barn had become one of the girls sleeping spaces, and therefore her sleeping space. She'd missed out on an actual bed, those had mostly been reserved for the elderly, or they'd been moved to the biggest store where they'd decided to put all the families, mainly the ones with small kids. Too bad she hadn't come with her family she supposed. Her parents had only just got comfortable with the fact of her driving, and she'd come alone to buy her friend Isabella a stupid birthday present. She hadn't even told her parents where she was going, it was a Saturday, her free day. They'd been mad on the phone but couldn't really have blamed her. Then came the news she'd have to stay overnight. Then, today when everyone woke up, no ones cell phones worked. There were three pay phones, but the line for each was a mile long. Vikki looked at her worriedly, she hadn't answered for a while. "I'm fantastic, and you? Just sitting here wondering how many coupons they're gonna give us after keeping us in here so long. Better be something real special." Vikki smiled. "If they don't, I think my dad's gonna sue 'em. Just got off the payphone, he's going ballistic." "Nice. Hey, you got anymore gum?" "Yeah, here." She handed her a stick. Harper popped it in her mouth. She was about done playing along with this crap. But she had a plan. 0 players like this post! Like? |
