Linnea Aston | 19 | Female | Midnight | Location: The Crystal Flower It was dark out, and Linnea had about half an hour left on her shift before she'd be able to close up the shop and head on down to the Black Laurel to have some actual fun. It had been pretty quiet all day, with maybe one or two witches and a handful of curious tourists and New Agers coming in to shop. In any case, there was no one in the store at the moment, so she made her way out from behind the counter and walked over to the shelves on one side of the shop, straightening up the crystals and various bins. Of course, the crystals out here were really only for the humans who wandered in -- any decent witch would want crystals handled by as few people as possible. Crystals tended to absorb a little bit of the energy of whoever handled them, meaning most of the crystals out here were now muddled with the various people who had handled them, and really wouldn't be good for much except very very basic spells. Just then, she heard the bell on the door ring, signaling that someone was entering the store. She turned around, a wide customer service smile on her face. "Hello! Welcome to the Crystal Flower!" ____ Tera Ellwood | 15 | Female | Lost Witch | Location: The Black Laurel Tera stood across the street from the nightclub, staring intently at the bouncer. How was she going to convince the guy to let her in? She was still a minor, and still clearly looked like one, too. She didn't have a fake ID to flash. Did she even have enough cash for the cover charge? She wasn't entirely sure why she was here, either. She'd had a weird dream last night, one where she had come to this place and gotten some information about her father. As she stood across from the entrance, though, she couldn't help but think how silly and foolish she was being. Were her dreams coming true now or something? As if! But still, she had been having an odd number of her dreams actually happen recently though. First, she'd seen her mother getting sick, then her mother giving her the picture that was now folded and stuck in the back pocket of her jeans. She'd seen her test scores for her most recent math test before she'd gotten it back. Even if this was a long shot, it was the only clue she had. And she guessed it was possible for her to run into her dad in a nightclub. He had met her mother in one, after all, from what her mother had told her. She just had to figure out a way to get inside. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 02/07/16 @ 18:50:09 by |Honeybee| (#39806) |

July Bello | 23 | Female | Twilight| Location: The Black Laurel July leaned forward against the bar, cleaning a spill with a quick flick of the wrist. Today hadn't been terribly eventful so far, and part of her desperately wanted to abandon ship and just go outside for a smoke. Instead, she grabbed an empty glass and tossed it in to the sink near her knees. After a moment, she reached up to shove her hair back, fingers hesitantly stopping on the laurel barrette in her hair. Nothing that would make anyone ask why she had such an unusual symbol, but more than enough for anyone looking for the right thing. One of the men at the bar mumbled something about whisky and she grabbed the bottle, muttering under her breathe to make sure her pours were correct. "Six bucks, sir." He snarled something about expensive drinks - she remembered to give him water instead of alcohol next time, as the man had clearly had too much - and shoved the money forward. He wasn't a witch, of that she was certain. Werewolf, maybe? They were always snarly. Putting the cash in the register, she sighed. "When's my shift over, again?" She asked no one in particular. It'd be good to be able to stop working and start partying. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Elijah Keir | 18 | Male | Twilight | Location: Home Elijah stared out his bedroom window, smiling slightly. He'd always liked the night sky, for no real reason. It was just fascinating to him. He liked to look at the sky. It was one of his favorite things to do. He liked to look at it and just think. He liked to think about his family, his life, and sometimes just what he did that day. He just liked to think. Staring at the sky was a time for him to just be alone with his thoughts after a long or hard day. He sighed, standing up from his window bed and walking across his room to the door. "Aislin, are you home?" He called out, walking across the hall and knocking on his sister's door lightly. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Lee Maddox / 21/ Female/ Midnight/ Location: The Crystal Flower Lee had been out practicality all day, from groceries store to cake shops she had been just about everywhere. Her familiar jogged beside her, carrying most of her supplies in baskets attached to a harness. With Lee's sister turning thirteen in just a few days, her family was pulling out all the stops to mark the great occasion. She checked her phone and let out a long sigh of relief she had only one stop left to make, and then she could finally enjoy herself. As she pushed open the door to Crystal Flower the bell on door rang and she was met with the comforting scent of hundreds of herbs. "Hello! Welcome to the Crystal Flower!" She returned the friendly greeting with a smile of her own, she admittedly openly checked out the other girl. She usually liked to browse the merchandise, and maybe even taken a minute to talk with Linnea a bit, but its was late and she didnt want to keep her from closing. As she made her way over to the counter the shelves on the wall filled with crystals caught her eye. A devious smile crossed her lips, with one hand atop her familiars jet black head she waved the other in front of the shelves. A pale purple gas left her palm and quickly coated some some of the crystals, after whispering an incantation the gas disappeared and gave any crystals that it touched a purplish glow. The next person that touched those crystals would get a nasty shock. Only humans really bothered with those anyways, the good stuff was for witches only. " Hey Linnea, looking good as always," she said with a wink. " Well formalities aside, my mum ordered a necklace I think, I'm here to pick that up and... Oh yeah! The collar studded with crystals I ordered." 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 04/07/16 @ 07:46:38 by Raven (#60460) |

Tori Altmer | 35 | Twilight | Crystal Flower If he had timed things right, and he probably had, Linnea wouldn't have too much longer on her shift, and the Black Laurel would have been open for a while already. So Tori would offer to walk Linnea over to the club, and pick up the dozen clear crystals of various types he had asked to be set aside. He planned to do some spells to find things he had lost, sometime soon, so he needed the crystals. Opal was draped about his neck, making her quiet, happy sounds at the thought of seeing Linnea, who was one of the familiar's favorite people, along with Lysander. Just as Tori was about to open the door, Opal whined and struggled, making her way down into Tori's arms, tail twitching in agitation. Her usual reaction to more negative magic. "You would be a Daybreaker if you were human..." He opened the door, holding Opal close to his body, and entered the family's shop in time to see Lee Maddox casting a spell over the common crystals kept out front. Opal buried her nose into Tori, and he narrowed his eyes, listening to Lee speak to his niece. "Good evening, ladies. Now, Lee, why exactly did you put a spell on those crystals? They'll be entirely useless now, and I doubt they'll be able to be sold. Are you going to pay for them? Or are you just going to be like most of Circle Midnight and not care one bit what happens to humans, even if that affects other witches?" Opal whined again, and he looked down to comfort her. "Linnea, whenever you're able to leave, I can walk you to the Laurel." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Silas St. Claire // Male // 25 Location: The Black Laurel Mentions: Tera Ellewood, July Bello Silas walked through the town. It wasn't like he was jus wandering. He had a certain destination, one that was his destination most nights. A large, brindle Dutch shepherd padded alongside him, taking in every sight and sound. As Silas neared the Black Laurel, he saw a girl standing just outside of the doors. She looked like she was about to bribe the bouncer. He tried not to laugh. Like that was going to work. So he slipped past her, whispering something in the guard's ear as he looked over to her. The bouncer looked at her briefly before nodding to him. Silas then went into the club, his companion trailing behind. Silas walked straight into the heated club. the entire place smelled like sweat and strobe lights. If strobe lights had a smell... Tons of people danced on the floor, plenty knocking into him as he headed towards the bar. When he finally arrived, he smiled, seeing a familiar face. "Eh July! Could I get a scotch?" he asked, though it was quite a bit louder than his talking vice, as the music that they played here could burst an eardrum. Silas put his hands of the bar, locking his fingers together. On the ring finger on his right hand lay a heavy ring. On it was what looked like a laurel underneath several stars. The laurel was for the club, and many other symbols for witches, But the shooting star was the symbol for the St. Claires. 0 players like this post! Like? Naeva | female | 27 | Midnight | Black Laurel Mentions: Silas St. Claire Naeva gingerly nursed her drink at the bar, feeling quite stifled by the noise and humidity of the club as she massaged her temple. This was hardly her scene, though it was a place with little interference of humans, which suit her well. She had spent a good portion of the month tracking down a very specific forbidden book of knowledge, but to no avail. The weak-minded witches of the Inner Circle had surely destroyed every last copy; however Naeva hoped that at least one ambitious witch still held onto an intact edition. A tall man sat next to her at the bar, causing the fair raven sitting on her shoulder to caw softly as he called the barkeep over. The glint of the man's heavy ring caught Naeva's eye as it glittered in the flashing lights. "Ah, St. Claire, " She purred, her voice worming it's way under the loud thumping music into the other witch's ears. "Bit early for scotch, oui?" Her thick accent curled around her words. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Dei Marinus | 22 | Agender | Daybreak | Location: The Blue Door There was an odd comfort Dei found being in the Blue Door after dark, when the rush of the day dies down and there is only a few lingering witches and humans around.. They stared listlessly out the windows at the black sky, thumb running over the side of their cup as they sat alone at a small table. They opted to leave those around unbothered, content to soak in the ambience of the coffee shop in their own bubble of silence. It’s no surprise Dei had decided to spend their free time here. At best, they handled social interactions poorly, and they were quite aware of it. Places like the Black Laurel were stressful for them, so many bodies and noises demanding for their attention. Along with the chance of alcohol in the mix and losing control for themself. No, Dei was definitely not interested. The coffee house was a much more pleasing option. They sighed however, willing to admit that even the quietness of the shop could be a bit boring when compared to thoughts of dancing and having fun with others. 0 players like this post! Like? |

July Bello | 23 | Female | Twilight| Location: The Black Laurel Mentions: Silas St. Claire, Naeva July was cleaning a glass when she heard her name called, setting it aside and giving Silas a lopsided smile. "Sure, if you've got cash." She teased, turning around to grab a glass. "What's the news from your side of the tracks? Up to anything new and interesting?" The woman asked as she poured the drink with a flick of her wrist. Midnight didn't exactly make sense to her, but she wasn't the type to tell others how to live their lives. Besides, at least it wasn't witches they went after, just humans- even if humans were kind of adorable, with how inept they were but how they thought they were the toughest thing around. Naeva's comment made July laugh slightly, teeth showing in a grin. "It's never too early for good booze. And I'm not saying that just because it's my job to sell you as much alcohol as you can stomach without getting difficult to handle." She said, passing over the drink to Silas. "Anything I can get for you, ma'am?" She asked Naeva, fingers tapping on the edge of the bar. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Carmilla Reyes | 19 | Female | Midnight | Location: The Crystal Flower Carmilla harshly swung open the door, making the small bells attached to it jingle sharply. She raised her eyebrows at the veritable gathering that seemed to be taking place within the supply store, and the tense atmosphere she seemed to have walked into. "Whoa, didn't know I was so late to the party! What are you all so uppity about? There better not be any white knighting going on in here." She narrowed her eyes momentarily at Tori. Walking past him and Lee, she dropped some currency on the counter. "SO Sorry to bother you during closing," she said in a way that imparted she clearly didn't care, "But I need some fennel and I heard you recently got a harvest in. Hit me up. Only need four sprigs." As outwardly abrasive as she could be, Carmilla was a fairly paranoid witch, and did not like to be walking around without some sort of safeguard from curses. Fennel had become her cheapest option, even if she usually needed to shell out more of her paycheck than she would like to. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Linnea Aston | 19 | Female | Midnight | Location: The Crystal Flower "Hey, Lee!" Linnea started to say, when she saw the other witch casting a spell. Her friendly smile quickly turned to a scowl, and she was going to say something to rebuke the woman, but her Uncle Tori had entered without her noticing and beat her to it. Linnea sighed, shooting her uncle a grateful look. "I'll take just a moment to grab the things you need, Lee, but I hope that you'll pay for at least half of the crystals you damaged. Selling those is how I make a living, you know." She disappeared into the back room for a minute, searching the shelves for the items that Lee had requested and also the bags of crystals her uncle had ordered and she had set aside earlier. As she walked back into the storefront and set everything on the counter, another witch walked in. Linnea gave her a cheerful smile as the woman spoke. "Of course, ma'am, just let me take care of these other customers and I'll be right with you." She picked up a calculator off of the counter, typing in a few numbers, and then told Lee her total. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Silas St. Claire // Male // 25 Location: The Black Laurel Mentions: Naeva, July Bello Silas smirked as Naeva's cool voice registered in his ears. He looked over to her, not at all paying attention to her alarmed Raven. A chuckle came from is mouth as she tod him it was a bit early for scotch. "My dear Naeva, It is never too early for some nice scotch" He told her. His ears remained alert to his surroundings, never fully sure that he was safe. July made a beautiful comment about the booze and this made him laugh. Silas's laugh was a deep, hardy laugh. And his smile could kill. But he shrugged to her question. "You know me July. There is always something is interesting going on in my life" he joked. In fact, there was quite a bit going on in his life. But not that he would tell anyone. Silas tended to be very secretive in his affairs. "And what about you? Anything fun and exciting?" he asked, hping to continue the conversation. 0 players like this post! Like? ( Quick question, what kind of currency are we using?) Lee Maddox / 21/ Female/ Midnight/ Location: The Crystal Flower She didnt even turn around when Tori began talkng to her. Her familiar on the other hand growled at him, she didnt feel the need to calm Lunar down but if things got out of hand she would regrettably keep the dog from using the cat as a chew toy. She shook her head slowly and snapped her fingers, the gas started rise but this time it was a sickly shade of purple and green, it streamed into her palm and formed a sphere. " A witch incapable of reversing her own spell, shouldn't consider herself a witch at all. So no, I do not plan on paying for them, and actually Linnea, you'll find that those crystals are free of any impurities," she said without even dropping her pleasant smile. She closed her fist and the gas quickly dispersed into nothingness. After placing the required currency on the counter and resting the necklace gently in the baskets on Lunar's back. She picked up the collar and began inspecting it for any mistakes, the size especially concerned her. Not wanting to leave just to have to comeback, she placed it around her familiars neck and started to loosen the brown leather strap until it fit just snugly enough around the dogs thick neck. The crystals gave off a soft blue glow as they seemed to become adjusted to her familiars flow of magic. With no complaints from Lunar she straightened her back and chuckled in satisfaction. Turning her attention back to Linnea she placed another handful of currency and gave the girl a remorseful look. "For any trouble I might have caused you," she said softly. She motioned for her familiar who refused to stop growling at Tori's cat even as they to began to walk out, she winked at Reyes and mouthed 'thank you', and couldn't help but wish an anvil would fall on Tori's head. If only dreams came true, she pushed open the door and stepped out into the cool night air. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Carmilla Reyes | 19 | Female | Midnight | Location: The Crystal Flower (sorry for switching how I refer to her, I just realized it makes more sense given her character x: ) Reyes snorted at being called 'Ma'am' by someone her age, but moved aside from the counter to lean against the wall anyways. She picked at her nails listening to them squabble, but looked up at the familiar feel of magic being exercised. It was kind of annoying, being able to sense most uses of magic, but she figured it was a good price to pay to be blessed with witch powers. Reyes grinned softly when Lee winked at her and shrugged as a 'no problem' kind of gesture. While waiting for Linnea to finish up whatever she was doing (Reyes had not been paying attention) she went over to inspect the same crystals that had been cursed moments before. Sure enough, they were technically pure now, even if a lot of their innate power had been sapped away too. She figured they'd probably only really be useful to humans now. 0 players like this post! Naeva Merle | female | 27 | Midnight | Black Laurel Mentions: Silas St. Claire, July Bello Naeva's smirked slyly at Silas's comment as she gently swirled the leftover alcohol in her class. At the bartender's inquiry, she replied "Get me a scotch as well, s'il vous plaît." Might as well. Her golden eyes lazily surveyed the crowded club, contempt clear on her face. "I'm curious as to what you've been up to as well, dear St. Claire. It has certainly been awhile seen we last had a nice chat." Naeva stroked Dmitri's head idly as her eyes focused their piercing gaze upon the man. "Do tell me all about your adventures, for I am curious if you may have encountered something I'm looking for . . . " She searched his face intently for any sign of discomfort at her request, her dark lips slightly curving. 0 players like this post! Like? |
