BACKSTORY:

Many centuries ago, a young woman named Morwenna of East Town was born. Able to perform magic, she used her abilities to help the people in her village, creating simple healing spells and remedies. Her children also inherited this power, and witches as a species were born.

For many years, witches lived peacefully with humans, marrying them and continuing to grow. Three Circles formed, as a way to differentiate between the different ideologies that the witches possessed and create a fellowship between them, and an Inner Circle was created to govern them.

Circle Daybreak, along with Twilight, Midnight, and the Inner Circle, had been one of the original witch circles, and the only one who sought alliances with humans, partially because male witches were rare and due to the centuries-long blood feud between witches and vampires. The members wanted to live with humans in harmony, and even attempted to teach humans spells.

However, during the 15th and 16th centuries, humans began persecuting those suspected of witchcraft, associating them with Satanic worship and horrible atrocities. They tortured, hung, and burned suspected witches, prompting the witch clans to shroud themselves in secrecy for their own safety, and to disband Circle Daybreak forever.

PLOT:

Now, in recent times, after centuries of living in secrecy, the witches are ready to reinstate themselves as the superior species on Earth. The witches of Circle Midnight have begun pressuring the Inner Circle and Circle Twilight to declare war on humankind. Some witches, opposing this idea, have secretly begun to join and reestablish Circle Daybreak as a way to help prepare and protect humans.

You will play one of these witches. Which Circle will you join, and what side will you take in this upcoming war against humanity?

LOCATIONS:

- The Crystal Flower: The supply shop owned by the Aston family. One of the best places to get crystals, herbs, and anything else needed for spellcasting. Laurels decorate the sign, declaring it as a place of business for witches. Proof of being a witch (often demonstrated by showing some sort of laurel symbol) is required to obtain any ingredients needed for powerful spells, beyond just simple crystals and common herbs.

- The Black Laurel: A nightclub popular amongst supernatural beings, though targeted mainly at witches. Some werewolves, vampires, shapeshifters, and fae do visit, and even the occassional human wanders in (often to disastruous consequences for themselves -- they often end up being taken home by someone and terrible things happen to them). There is a back room that is available only for witches.

- Blue Door: A local tea and coffee house that is a popular daytime hangout place for witches. A kindly old witch owns the place, and if you butter her up a bit, she may even offer to read your fortune in your tea leaves -- she'll even offer for humans, who may think she's a little bit batty. Laurels form the border of the menu, declaring it a shop owned by a witch. Its hours are 7:30 am - 12:00 am on weekdays, and 7:30 am - 1:00 am on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays.

- Various family homes: The various homes and manors of the characters in the RP. Older families tend to have more money and thus more elaborate homes. Additionally, if a character is apprenticed to a witch of another family, they may move into that family's home until their apprenticeship is over.

(also taking suggestions for other locations)

July Bello | 23 | Female | Twilight| Location: The Black Laurel

Mentions: Silas St. Claire, Naeva

Silas's nonanswer made July smile, the woman shaking her head. "Course there is. I can't imagine there's a dull day with you around, huh? Your lot always got something going on." Not that she was judging. Midnight did what Midnight did. Wasn't her place to tell them what to do; leave that up to someone else. At the question of what she had been up to, however, her eyes slide around the room and she leaned forward, expression growing serious. "You heard the rumors that there are Daybreaks running around?" She spoke in barely above a whisper, glancing around the bar and making herself busy getting Naeva's scotch. It probably wasn't the cleverest idea to mention the forbidden circle, but July was a bartender- it was part of the job description to listen and pass on gossip. Or, at least, it was part of the job description according to her.

"Not sure how much truth there is to it." The woman shrugged as she passed the drink forward. "Someone always starts up that rumor every few years, but seems like more people takin' it serious than usual. Far as I know, it's just idle chatter." To be honest, July didn't care much one way or the other. Human lovers could be a little obnoxious, but they had the right to choose their path, just like everyone else did. Of course, she wasn't about to spew that opinion out to anyone- especially not two Midnight members.

The woman watched the pair keenly before directing her attention to another customer, pouring their order quickly. Still, she kept her ears open- any chatter she could catch had the potential to be very, very interesting.

Silas St. Claire // Male // 25
Location: The Black Laurel
Mentions: Naeva, July Bello

Silas chuckled as both of the girls asked about his business. Sure he could tell them, but it was more fun to keep them guessing. He gently tapped his fingers on the desk, listening to July gossip about the Coming Daylighters. Secretly, he knew that they were coming out of the dark. Just the thought of a Daylighters made him cringe, but he kept that thought to himself. It wouldn't do any good to annoy those around him.

"Yes, that is what I have heard as well" he nodded, careful not to speak up too loud. Some man waddled up to the bar beside Silas. The man stepped onto Drax's tail making the large shepherd bark aggressively at the man. Judging by his smell and his muscles, Silas assumed that he was a wolf. Silas glared him down until the man scooted down a little ways down the bar.
