It was a breezy Spring day, and Marie was not excited to be on her way to the new school that she was going to be attending. It was a month into the school year already, and now her parents had picked up and moved from our comfortable home. They had just drove up to the front of the red brick school, with stone steps and students swarming everywhere before class. "It won't be so bad, Marie. I am sure you will do just fine. Just try not to avoid everyone," Mom says with a gentle smile. "You know I don't try to avoid people. It is just hard to talk to people for me. Anyway, I have to go. Love you Mom." She opened the car door, and grabbed her backpack. Her golden hair immediately caught the slight breeze and blew in front of her eyes. Marie pushed it behind her ear, and stepped out onto the sidewalk. "Love you, Marie. See you t home." The car door shut, and her mom drove away, leaving her to survive on her own. Marie walked forward, turquoise backpack over one shoulder, and slowly made her way toward the brand new building she had only been to once the previous week to get a tour from the principal. 0 players like this post! Zuriel watched as a girl he'd never seen got out of a car. She looked like one of those shy people that get bullied a lot. He'd watch to make sure it didn't happen. Then he turned his focus back to his friends. "Have any of you thought about prom and who your taking?" One of them asked questioning the whole group. "No way!" Zuriel replied quickly. "Do you know how long that is from today? Like forever." It gained him a few questioning looks but they all knew he wasn't all into the whole relationship thing. He hasn't met the right girl yet was his excuse. A few of them mentioned taking their current girlfriends but in the world of high school who knew how long those relationships would last. 0 players like this post! Like? |

As Marie got to the steps, she saw a group of people talking, and leaning up against the front of the school. They looked like the popular group. Laughing, leaning against the walls. And they all wore the "cool" clothes", the ones that everyone always stared at. She never tried talking to them, and probably never would. Her blue eyes scanned the inside of the school for the bench she had seen when she had her tour. Someone brushed past her, and she just kept her eyes to her feet and moved forward toward the wood bench,. Zuriel watched as the new girl sat down. No one noticed her but as her hair fell in front of her face he certainly did. She looked beautiful. "Hey guys I'll see you later okay?" Zuriel said before walking towards her. "Hey. You're new around here huh? I'm Zuriel. It's nice to meet you." Zuriel gave her a small smile. "Is it okay if I sit down?" Marie sat down on the bench, and kids walked down the fluorescent halls loudly chattering, while some were silent wearing earbuds. Moments later, someone came up to her from outside. "Hey. You're new around here huh? I'm Zuriel. It's nice to meet you." Marie looked up and there was a guy with hazel eyes and dark red hair introducing himself. His face dawned a small smile. "Is it okay if I sit down?" Not knowing what to do, her cheeks turned light pink, but she scooted over a bit to let him sit. "Uhm, yeah. I am new, today is my first day. And you can sit, if you want." She pulled the hair from the opposite side of Zuriel. (do not apologize. I SQUEALED when I saw your reply, no joke..) 0 players like this post! Like? |

She looks up at him, his face seeming to have an ever present smile. "Thanks. Do you know where all your classes are?" She thinks back to her tour, she hadn't really been paying attention that day, having mixed feelings toward the school and wanting to be home. "Uhm, I think I, hmm.." Marie pulled out a slip of paper with her schedule on it. Looking at the paper, she had no idea where any of them were. "No, I don't." Why hadn't I payed attention? Zuriel said her name was pretty, and that caused her blush to deepen. She let the rest of her hair fall covering her eyes, and tipped her head a bit. Why did she have to be so shy? When he asked to see what classes she had, she handed him the slip of paper with her classes on it. He looked over the paper, which gave her a chance to "sneak" a look at him. He was actually kind of cute. His hair was messy, but somehow contained, and it was dark red. His hazel eyes scanned the paper, she couldn't stop staring at them. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Marie quickly averted her eyes, embarrassed that Zuriel had caught her staring, and she felt like her face couldn't get any redder. "Well, it looks like we have quite a few classes together." At least I will know someone in there. "Come on, I'll show you where to go." He got up, offering his hand. Marie's heart quickened, her trying to decide to take it or not.
