[..ISSUE..] Lioden backgrounds are beautiful with gorgeous gradients, but most of the decor items are colored as if under bright sunlight, and do not match the night, red, or other colored backgrounds. Example: http://lioden.com/wardrobe.php?c=XaFwQ1i6Oz The lion matches the background. The feathers look okay. Contexting is decently close to the lion and background. The adolescent looks like he has his very own bright spotlight because he's contexted to a more neutral light, where the background is heavily blue. The flowers are contexted to a bright yellow noon sunlight. They look pasted on. Other decors that will not context to blue are the golden adoring lioness and Mossy Rocks. Rising Water also has some issues. [..SOLUTIONS..] Solution 1 Change all decors to 90% opacity. It's not elegant, but it would solve the problem by letting the background color come through. Solution 2 Add a foreground layer to all background files that consists of a matching color gradient at 10%, so that only the vague base color visible. This will context the lion as well as all decor. Solution 3 Instead of attaching the foreground layer to all background files, make the foreground context layer a separate decor available for SB. Lioden backgrounds can be classed as either blue (night time), yellow (savannah, marshes, most of them), Red/Pink (leonids, deadlands, sunrise) or taupe-grey (hyena lands). Most decors are contexted to yellow already and work okay in grey, so we only need a blue item and a red/pink item. At simplest, it's a square of color set to 10% opacity. A slightly more complex version is a gradient of color with the most saturation near the horizon line and with the most opacity around the edges. Solution 4 Make day/night/dusk versions of decors available for players to obtain separately. *Estimates used. Exact numbers subject to change. |

That makes a lot of sense and is something I'd like to see. I like the idea of option #3- allowing players to choose whether to place an overlay over the scene to help it match better. 0 players like this post! Like? |
