So, to quote the news post for the release of beetles, "When your beetles die, they become unusable, collectible items in your hoard." That's cool! But what would be even cooler, in my opinion, would be if your beetle corpse collection was somehow visible to the public. That's why I suggest a beetle display case! Entomologists and museums often display pinned insects in display cases like this one: We could have an option in the drop down menu of our beetle corpses to add it to the display. The case itself could have silhouettes of the beetles we're missing. I would definitely have fun trying to get all the different species and color morphs to complete the collection! It would also make new beetle releases more exciting, particularly if certain species were to be rarer than others/event exclusive. Let me know what you think about my idea! |

I love this idea ^^ Also, maybe there could be an achievement for collecting all of the beetles and completing your display? Or even a series of achievements, such as: 1. Displaying your first beetle. 2. Displaying all common beetles. 3. Displaying all uncommon beetles. 4. Displaying all rare beetles. 0 players like this post! Like? |

we already have showcase, why not a template you can purchase that allows you to rearrange and label your collection on that page 0 players like this post! Like? |

I'd love any kind of list of beetles and morphs and preserving them after they die like this sounds like a neat idea. 0 players like this post! Like? |

BEETLE DYNASTY YES! But you can only add beetles that you've raised, not death items you bought. I guess when your beetle dies, you can choose to add it to the dynasty/display or turn it into the death item. If you already have a beetle of that breed/color/gender then you can't add it to the display. Death items can't be added to the display. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Ok, thought it'd be a good idea to discuss things brought up so far: Alais - We already have a showcase, could re-skin it Yeah, the showcase exists. I guess. As a feature, it's kind of.... bad. Hell, the link to create one is actually completely hidden right now! Not everyone with one would necessarily want to devote it entirely to beetles though (the ONE showcase I have seen was devoted to birds). Hence why I think this would be better served as a separate feature. Lynnx - Should function as a beetle dynasty, can only add beetles you have owned This is an interesting idea that would probably warrant further discussion. The pros of this would obviously be that making the display case would be more challenging due to the requirement of beetle ownership. The only problem here is that it could be tricky to implement it this way. As far as we know (because as of typing this no beetles have died yet...) the beetles simply instantly turn into the tradable items. Another problem is that some people are focusing on the stat breeding aspect of the beetle feature heavily, and therefore only keep one type of beetle. These people would probably prefer to buy the beetle corpse items instead. At the same time, I would realistically like it more if you had to own the beetle? But given the way beetle death has already been decided I can't really see this happening :( 0 players like this post! Like? |

I really support this. I would love to be able to organize my dead beetles and know which ones I've had and which ones I still need. I also don't like that they take up space in my buried hoard items--so having a display would be wonderful <3 0 players like this post! Like? |

I so support. This was exactly where my thoughts went when my first beetle died. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I heard from a staff(?) member that they would become a decor if you collected enough of that beetle; but maybe I'm wrong. All I think is that the admins already have an idea for these beetles ^^ Otherwise I don't see the point in making the beetles turn into items. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Bloomberry Yup, that's true (I think it was mentioned on the news post at the time of the beetle's release). I don't see a reason why the beetles couldn't have multiple uses though. Given that each color-species combo of beetle drops a unique item, it's hard not to view them as collectibles. 0 players like this post! Like? |
