I was looking at one of my sub males at the ripe old age of 14, and I noticed that despite becoming thin and wrinkly, male lions have as vibrant manes as ever even when they're very elderly. In the wild, lion's manes turn gray or silvery as they age, and I was wondering if that could be added to our lions like wrinkle lines when they reach a certain age. Lionesses with maned mutations could be affected as well, but normal lionesses wouldn't be. And if you want to restore your lion's mane, why not add it to the wrinkle removing oasis item? |

I support. That would make the game more realistic. I Think the mane should start changing the color when the lion is 12 years old. 0 players like this post! Like? |

if you didn't like the aged mane look I think the age overlays should be removed with the current oasis item that removes body age overlays, not a separate oasis item. just sayin' 1 player likes this post! Like? |

It could act similar to a marking, one that increases in opacity by a tiny percentage every rollover, starting at around 10 years, until the entire mane is grey. Hardly noticeable at first, then one day all but a few streaks of the original color are gone. Maybe even a few areas around the muzzle too. Support! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Can you link me the source for saying that in the wild a lion's mane will turn grey? All I can find are articles saying that more fertile lions have darker manes but none that say that they will turn grey or silver. If anything I would say it would be a lighter version of their base color. 0 players like this post! Like? |

This is the oldest lion, who died at the age of 18. He is severely emaciated do to his difficulty eating and his illness so please be aware when clicking on links. https://ugandaradionetwork.com/a/image.php?f=67130&w=500&h=500 This is an image of him and you can see the size of his mane is quite small and the color is washed out. This video gives you a better all around view, as well as a portrait of him in his younger years at the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wopTdh-CKTc this is a picture of Kibonge at his prime. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ekAhoX5CRFg/UGsVLt7E1TI/AAAAAAAACyM/56u8HYTNP6g/s1600/Zara's+mate.jpg While lioden males don't reach anywhere near this age, mane aging could be shown by changing mane appearance to Scarce or Tsavo and adding a mane color overlay that washes out the color like white or grey. 1 player likes this post! I don't know if it would show up as loosing color competently or going to a faded version of the color it was meant to be. It would probably be easiest to implement if it effected them the same as normal lions. 0 players like this post! Like? |
