Drawings kids is a paaain. If humans weren't hard already, kids have weird proportions. Looking at images of 7 year olds, I'd say add round face, large-ish forehead, and a small nose. I have noticed that the lower that the eyes are located, the more childish it looks like. I may be wrong though, I only have a single child OC There's also this tutorial I found. ![]() |

I really like that! ^^ His mouth and shoulders seem a bit off to me though. I did a redline I placed a belly button there to indicate that maybe his torso is a bit long. The shoulders slope very severely, which doesn't really happen in real life, so I did a redline there too. His mouth looks very awkward, but I'm not sure what look you were going for, so maybe look at the mouth as more of a suggestion rather than a critique. ![]() |

@Alexandoria Just overall. Anatomy, detail, etc. To me i see almost nothing wrong with the piece- which in the past has always been a red flag for me as months later ill notice i got some things on anatomy wrong and such. So i thought id ask and see what you all notice or have to say ![]() |

Okay, Jynx, I did a redline. Redline On the one on the left, the mouth opens too wide - This in the sense that it doesn't have a "joint"-point, where the upper and lower jaw connects, it just curves in your drawing. The rest of that is beautiful though. On the second headshot, I just fixed the angle a little bit, because your mouth was conflicting with the snout. On the body shot, I tried drawing the paws - You've drawn two joints in the wrist. If you think about your own arm, the joint I've put is the wrist and the individual paw is the entire hand - There's not a joint between those, if that makes sense. I also fixed the butt a little bit, because the tail was rooted a bit high on the butt - So just move it down a little and you're good. The tail is an extension of the spine, so it starts where your butt ends, basically. ![]() Edited on 02/01/17 @ 13:49:03 by Alexandoria (#80753) |

Thank you so much! Ill for sure save this redline for future reference with my art! THis was my first time working with odd angles as i normally do straight-on or profile views, so its nice to see where i got it wrong. and ahh i see what youre talking about with the double joint. The ref i was using made it seem like there was another one. I wont be making that mistake again in the future, thank you <3 ![]() |

Thank you so much Alexandria, I fixed what you redlined Ye I think it's decent enough to start its second sketch but I'll wait for more critiques, something looks wrong on the wolf but I can't tell what ------ Alexandria pretty much pointed out with the redline but I think the back leg might be too long and some other parts Here you go ![]() |
