I think the way rabies implemented in this game could be better. As a somewhat new player and playing the October event for the first time, it was kind of a let down. Sure there was the thrill of being able to infect some unsuspecting victim when you get the virus, but after awhile it does get dull. Other than that, nothing really changes. Aside from not fully recovering energy or being able to eat, you're still able to carry out normal functions. What I found disappointing, is that you can interact in explore and make choices like you normally would. You even still claim lionesses without any problem. What kind of did irk me the most, was when I first got the disease, on the top bar, when it said that I would harm my pride members if I didn't find a cure, I was kind of intrigued. But then, my guard was let down when I found out that was just eye candy. Okay, sure, I don't want my pride members to be injured or leave my pride but, if you're going to put down something, then you should at least be honest. And that was just well... Fact is, you're still able to interact with your pride members normally (play, tussle, groom) and even breed with lionesses without harming them or even infecting them with the disease. Which I found to actually be a little disappointing. -I think it would be pretty cool if you had the virus, your pride members would lose more mood than usual each rollover because they'd be afraid of you. -Maybe in explore, because the virus distorts your mind, you start to see the world differently. There would be different options, and each affect your karma. Will you either try to keep your urges under control, or would you succumb to your instincts and destroy all in your path? -You should not be able to interact with pride members normally, because it could result in them getting infected or injured. Pride members should perhaps be able to become infected, resulting in you having to cure them or put them out of their misery. - I think the cure should actually be a little harder to obtain, resulting in a sort of challenge. I also think it would be pretty cool if in explore, based on your karma and through certain interactions you can obtain an item to help prevent yourself from getting the disease. Yeah, yeah, I know a lot of people are going vote down on this and defend why it's fine the way it is down in the comments below and maybe I come off as sounding a bit pompous to the developers. I just believe that given all the fun things in past events, this one could have been a little better.. |

I agree with the idea of seeing explore differently and having different options, like you mentioned, but I'm not a huge fan of your pride getting infected as well. I think it should solely effect your male because honestly it would be stressful constantly worrying about killing off your pride, which like most lioden players, I've become attached to. At most, I wouldnt mind if the disease effected your interactions (play, groom, tussle, etc.) with your pride, but that should be all. In addition, I do think the cure should be harder to find/obtain, but to a certain extent of course. Based off all you ideas presented, I would have to say I don't support, don't get me wrong I agree with some but overall you don't gain my support. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Okay so here's my thing. Rabies has a 100% mortality rate. If you are bit you have to get the vaccine within a few days of being bit and that is your only chance to prevent it. You have no way of knowing if it worked until several months later because of how long rabies takes to incubate. There is no way to test for rabies on a living creature, you have to cut it open and look at its brain. The only way to know if a living person has rabies for sure is off they're displaying neurological symptoms specific to rabies, by which point the disease is terminal. So if a game is going to have rabies it better significantly affect gameplay. Which means I mostly agree with the OP. There is one point on which my opinion differs; The availability of a "cure" should reflect how easy it is to catch the debuff, not used as a way to make the debuff more severe. Personally I'd rather have this debuff (Which right now is basically the classic berserk buff/debuff) not be rabies at all but tied into Halloween. 0 players like this post! Like? |
