Gigantism is caused when a benign tumor grows on the pituitary glad (part of the brain that controls growth and hormones) When a tumor is present on the pituitary glad, the brain releases high amounts of hormone chemicals, causing the body and bone structure to become grossly enlarged and grow abnormally fast. Visible at Birth?: -Yes. As Griff stated, it is possible for gigantism to be detectable at an earlier age. Effect Gameplay?: -Yes. Having a large skeletal structure can make hunting/fighting/playing difficult, as well as causing their joints to become painful/inflamed. I know this may be a lot to consider for the artists, as - like the dwarfs - have their own lineart and thus need their own base, markings, decor, etc. |

I understand about it not showing up until around sexual maturity, but adult mutations can't affect adolescent's images. So it would be cute if it did 'show up' at birth by having newborn cub, young cub and cub in their normal poses (or even new ones), then have a gigantism affected adolescent image (size difference starting to develop). (Tiger's eye oppotunity!) Because of the strain on the heart this mutation causes the death age of those lions affected could be shortened to 10 years or 12 years? or instead there could be other limitations like half as many hunts per day or lower agility stats 0 players like this post! I like the idea but I think it would have to be like dwarfism and involve all stages because otherwise it would be too similar to planned Acromegaly mutation [it is in the master list]. The only mechanical difference between the two conditions irl is the age at which the excessive growth hormone is released [gigantism being in childhood when the long bones can still grow longer and acromegaly being in adulthood] so it would make sense for gigantism to show up earlier. 0 players like this post!
