I would like to have the ability to assign different ranks to clan members, besides admin and none. The ranks would essentially be just a title, but it would be great for organization.

A clan owner could have something like:
Admins
Top Members (those that are highly active and contribute a lot)
Full Members
Members in Training

Those are just examples, to show one possible way of sorting members. The clan owner could call the ranks whatever they wanted.

It would make it easy to differentiate between members that have been in the clan awhile, and those who just joined.

You could sort active from inactive members.

It could serve as a reward for those who do a lot for the clan.

It could help those in the clan that serve different purposes (like those in helpers clans) be more easily identified.

Plus many more perks, these are just what came to mind first.
