at some point in every player's life, they experience this situation: they have a neat item they want to sell, but there are none currently listed at the trading center or in branches. so what in the world is it worth? you can ask in price checks, but what if no one else there knows either? this is why i think it'd be really fabulous to have a price history feature on the site.

i was thinking it could be on the branch page, and look something like this:

zGvHLJP.png

you would pick out an item, and then the search function would come up with a list of what it's sold for in the past, and the date it sold. something like this:

gdQVdr1.png

so if you weren't sure how much your item was worth, you could find out no problem! it would also be useful for knowing when is the best time to buy and sell certain items, because their price fluctuations could be tracked over time.

i'm unsure if this is even possible to do, but it's a feature i'd love to see :)!

This would be an awesome feature for people like me who are just horrible with pricing...

I think instead of just a list showing what they were sold as it should be a graph. Graphs are much easier to read market trends on, especially if the items have sold at wildly different prices.

there should also be some sort of limit to the data stored. I can see this working so much easier using data just from the branches as you are not dealing with multiple items and only currency (you may have meant this in your suggestion but I didn't see it clearly somewhere).

Looking at your list idea being turned into a graph with a limit it would show the previous 100(? maybe?) items sold, but I think it might be more instructive to show the price history over a period of time, like a graph of items sold over the last 500 days (needs to be more than a year so you can see the release event sales for event items). I know this would possibly leave you open to not seeing any sold, leaving you the same problem as before, but it would show you when they were last available, and thus how rare they have become! this time displayed sales history would be really good for rare custom decors.

although i would love for it to also work for the trading center, i didn't see how that would be possible because there's so many variables! so yeah just branches i think.

a graph sounds like it would work too! i just thought a visual example would be nice for this thread and made what i was capable of doing (which was not much lol). but really i think this would be a great feature no matter what form it takes, especially if that form is something easy for the admins to implement

I was fired up so I was playing on excel to make a time limited graph and it it ridiculously complex to try and get the data sets sorted (basically when more than 1 item is sold on the same day) with my meagre skills, unless some whiz comes along maybe just forget about a time thing.

Maybe the items graph can just mention somewhere when they were sold! or it could be just a really simplistic 'visualisation' graph set above the table of info you made up, like this
photo graph.jpg
sitting above your price history mock up. Connecting lines to show items sold on the same day?

*if you haven't noticed I have major love for graphs
