"I will do so. The clan will like to hear that Fallenstar was buried, and I'll take that as a chance to introduce you." Stormstar smiled at the warrior. He watched as the warrior launched himself into a tree and then back down to catch a mouse. Letting a mrow of congratulations, he spoke, "Nice catch! I'm glad to hear you a settling in well. Mottlefire is a great teacher. But I also wanted to let you know that if you need anything, I'm more than happy to help."

Bramblefur padded back into camp. He had a mouse hanging from his jaw by its tail. While he had left to hunt, he got distracted and ended up just padding around the territory. He had to snap out of this. Yes, losing his grandmother and leader was terrible, but it wasn't the end of the world. He still had friends in the clan. He wasn't alone. He dropped the mouse off at the fresh kill pile and noticed that Fallenstar was gone. He nodded and knew that Stormstar has ended the vigil and buried the leader. He then noticed the deputy. "Hi, Mottlefire"

"I think 4 is enough. It's all we can really carry anyway." The leader stood and picked up his bird along with the bird that Sunstripe had caught. "We can take these back for now, and if the pile seems low, we can come back out and grab a few more pieces." His words were muffled a bit by the birds, but he as still understandable. Keeping the birds in his mouth, he started to pad towards the camp. When was the last patrol sent out? That morning? There needed to be another sent soon. It would be dusk in a bit.

Stormstar took a look over the pile. "It seems there is plenty of food to go around for tonight." The pile was large enough to feed the clan with maybe a few pieces left over for the dawn patrol to grab on the way out of camp. "You know, we're doing well. The clan should be able to survive leafbare pretty easily." Stormstar couldn't help the smile that spread across his face. He would get his clan through leaf bare.

Bramblefur sat down beside the deputy. "I'll be alright. She's in StarClan now. She's with my mother and father and they're all happy to see each other." He just wanted to live up to be the best warrior he could be. To show them that he could do it. "Thank you." It wasn't until the squirrel was pushed in front of his nose before he realized that he hadn't eaten that day. He leaned down and took a hearty bite from the animal. As the taste flooded his mouth, a purr formed in his chest. It was nice having someone in the camp to talk to.

"Hello, Ryestar." The warrior smiled at his leader. "How is everything going? Smoothly I hope? Also, great choice in deputy! Rustheart will serve the clan well." He wasn't until then that Hawkrain realized that lately, he had been showing more emotion. He was never a conscious decision of his to hide it. He just never showed it. But now that he seemed to be coming out of some kind of self-inflicted shell, it felt nice.

"All is well. Sagepaw is coming along well in her training. Who knows, she may be a full medici cat before you know it!" Pride was evident in Hawkrain's words. He may have adopted the young kit, but she was just as much his daughter as any blood daughter of his could be. "I was actually thinking about getting out of the camp for a bit. Walking along the moorland, or maybe hunting a bit. If you'd like to join me?" Inviting someone along on his usual activities? That wasn;t usual for him. But it felt good to invite Ryestar along.

Hawkrain gave a purr in return. He then stood and headed for the camp's entrance. "Where would you like to go? That old fallen log near the JadeClan border usually provides some decent rodents." Hawkrain actually liked the thin pine forest on their territory. There wasn't much, and it was nowhere near as dense as JadeClan's forest. But it was nice. "Plus there are great climbing trees out there!" He knew climbing wasn't a usual activity for WhisperClan cats, but Hawkrain liked the vantage point. And if he got into just the right tree, he could peer out at his beloved hilly home.

Hawkrain, suddenly filled with happy mood, gentle headbutted her shoulder. "That's the spirit!" He could tell the smile was forced, so he tacked on, "Plus, I'll help you if you need. Or we can just hunt." He smiled before trotting on ahead, a certain spring in his step. It was almost like he hadn't been happy about being around a clanmate before now. Well, except for Sagepaw.

Bramblefur took another bite from the fresh kill. "Maybe you should just set up the patrol, and then head to your nest early tonight?" He chewed the bite in his mouth as he thought about last leafbare. It was rough. "But this season, we have to worry about those things on the outside of our border... They may be pretty inactive now... But when food becomes scare, who's to say they wont pick up again?" There hadn't been much talk of the evils outside their territory. But that didn't mean they were gone.
