Hello hardmode players! I'm 22 days into Lioden and I'm loving it! I decided to go for a breeding goal of making the prettiest dark colored lions I could with only using my heritage and without using any inbreeding. I already got my first AMP and I'm very excited :3

Unrelated… I recently moved like, 95% of my pride to my side so they are in storage. xD I was torn between "starting over" and just… minimizing the number of lions I had, and decided I didn't really want to get rid of them, so much as have a smaller number for my own sake. Take it from me, 100+ lions is too damn high. It also gives me room to think about decorating them again, and I've decided I'm gonna theme their decor around each of the events, since I've got loads and don't use any of them nearly enough…

Zari for March, and Falu for May.

Probably skipping April's decors because I'm really not a fan of like, 90% of them.

I had a Noctis Shaded Rosette baby born today! Super excited! I've been wanting to try to breed the marking since it was released (I was thrilled to end up with spontaneous White Inverted Shaded Rosette a while back and it immediately ended up on my king). I think I'd like to try to get a Noctis Shaded Rosette / White Inverted Shaded Rosette combo. That's probably not gonna be easy, but I'll be holding onto any WISR cubbins I produce from here on out in the hopes of breeding them in the future.

In short: this new boy is gonna become the base for my next king. Gonna have to re-customize him and stuff. xD

Soo I have a question. Are we allowed to king groupies? Since they are heritage less and are also rolled by the game?

Yes! You can start Hard Mode by kinging a groupie (with the groupie's original looks, NOT keeping the looks of a former King)
You can also use a groupie to keep your heritage clean on any king that you have bred under hard mode rules without outside heritage, once you get going. :)

I finally used the Mukumbero I won in the site raffle on my side ages and ages (I wanna say a couple years ago? lol)…

So, uh… here's Shuurshka'a. It's going to be a long while before anything happens with the little tyke, as she will probably get sex-changed and kinged on my side account, 'cause no way in hell am I giving up the Noctis Shaded Rosette I finally bred for my main. I'm in love with the Maracaja markings, so those'll get slapped onto the cub at some point too.

… man, all the gorgeous scrying options, and the one I got was a 'tato. xD

Congrats on the cute babbin! She's pretty. I love lions with a heritage that means something. <3 I've got a cave of lions that descend from my first HM queen (since I keep my king clean, I use their mother's lineage).

On another note, I just had this cub born: Shuvai! She is a primal AND she got Noctis Heavy Rosette! For once I have multiple lions I want to use as heirs and I can't decide. I think I'm still going to go for the Noctis Shaded Rosette I threw a while back, but the Primal / Rosette combo is super-tempting for me to king. Though… that said, I have a, uh, hoard of MoD: Primal. xD

Hello there! I'm Panda, lol. This is a side account - my main is non-hardmode but if things go my way that may change once I complete my pride lore.

I've posted an intro once on this thread already but I can't find it, so I'll be sending another - I'm finally unfreezing my side/starting over here so I'll be rerolling my king(again) and working from there. I don't know if I made any progress since this account is currently lion-less lol

Can I customize my king with marking/base applicators once I reroll him? Or would that be going against the hardmode theme? It has been a long while since I've read the clan info so I'll be doing that after posting this.

New question: What project would be the best to start with? I was hoping to try to build a foundation for my pride first before anything else, so I suppose there's that, but is there any advice anybody is willing to provide?

I'm interested, but I have no starting direction, lol.

It's really up to you and what you want to pursue! As an example, my pride is focused more on looks and genetics: I've kept a clean line going from my first queen. I personally avoid inbreeding in my pride, which also creates an extra layer of challenge. All that is more style / challenge, though. My current goal is to get a Shaded Rosette / Inverted Shaded Rosette lion as my king, so I juggle around and store a lot of lions on my side with that in mind.

Based on what you want to do or focus on (lore? looks? stats?) will depend on how you wanna plan and tackle things. I'm happy to give my two cents!

Unrelated to the above: My dorsal fur baby this year is a Velvet base. Huh. What luck. xD

Thank you for the comment, btw! I think I'm going to be focusing on breeding for more naturally colored lions, as well as building up my pride lore. Since I applied to A King's Lineage, I'm going to shoot for a clean line of pride rulers, dating back to Ragnar if possible.

I think I'm also going to aim for high stat kings, but I'm not very good at stat building so we'll see how that goes!

I THINK I'm going to lean more into darker or more brown themed lions, like Ragnar, I've heard ebony bases are pretty cheap, so I may start there if I can find some plain G1/2 gals.
