The Fall of Babel

The time is roughly 2AM March 9th, of the year 4907 the setting is in the immediate area surrounding the massive New Tower. Set on the plains of Shinar, in the ancient country called Babylonia. This civilization, conveniently tucked in the Fertile Crescent near the Persian Gulf, is one with no rivals. There are few peoples strong enough and large enough to even compare to the massive city. It has all the latest technology and is preparing to take over the entire world in fact. There is no civilization that has not felt the power of Babel nor seen the military might it possesses. Every single person on Earth is fearful of what will happen if the mighty country succeeds in claiming the world as its own.
As for Babel, all its citizens believe they are far more than mere humans, they are immortals in their own eyes. In the eyes of the world they are monsters, not one of them deserves what they have. Sadly enough that would seem to be the truth. Babylonia is so rich her inhabitants have no need to work, or at least they didn’t until now.
Today was going to be a special day, the best day of Babylonia’s long life.....

Standing on the sparkling entrance to the grand presidential palace, the fiendish man stared out over his city. Yes it was his city, he looked over it like a spider looking over its web. Every little fiber would reach him, every grapevine, each little whisper of gossip, every little bit of information traveling across the magnificent web and eventually landing right there in front of him.
He was the very picture of wealth, his aging face kept youthful by numerous surgeries and cosmetics; his hair was dyed dark allowing very few grey streaks show through. He was wearing a suit from the Old World, a very expensive thing even now days when he practically ruled the world and all its commodities.
He never saw it coming, the bullet, and the swift and soundless flight from a weapon so highly advanced it made no sound at all. The only sound after the soft whisper of the bullet was the President’s body collapsing to the ground.
And no matter how terrible the old President had been, the world still fell into complete chaos.

Basically this is a nearing the end times sort of RP. The world assumably is falling to pieces after an assassin kills the leader of Babylonia. But as I said, it is only assumably falling to pieces. Little does Babylonia know but this is just the beginning of an amazing plot to end Babel and create a new government.
There are two sides to join. Domus Exasperans Est or Crudelis Civis (basically rebels vs. those who love Babylonia and would like for it to stick around some). Team D.E.E is the rebellious citizens who are a part of the entire scheme of destroying the "Utopian" city. The C.C is a group of people (basically like a Special Ops team) that goes out and tries to destroy the D.E.E and drive all thoughts of throwing off Babylonia's chains off to the dogs.
As the RP goes along it will become far more evident as to which side is the good guys and which side is the bad guys.
