You can use a Shamanic Stew to make your next cub's "Strenght" stat higher.
Sadly,Lioden's stat inheritance is quite complex and does not guarantee high statters from hi-stat parents.

Hi, adding here about stats.
When you breed your lions you need to remember that the skill stat doesn't count in breeding. So, you need to take moms stats without skill, fathers stats without skill, add them, then take 12% of the sum of those stats. This 12% is the possible stats that your cub might have when born. Here is user made cub stat calculator that you can use to get the range of possible stats for the cubs from specific pair.
The 500-600 stats from 2k+ father and 1.3k+ stats mom are pretty normal. To get higher stats you might need to breed to lions from stats leaderboards. I did breed my 2.5k+ lioness to Meliodas, who is one of the 11k+ boys, and got cubs in range of 1.7k+ to 1.8k+ stats.
