The Third Lioden Hybrid - The JaglionWhat is a Jaglion? A jaglion is the unlikely offspring produced from a male jaguar and a lioness. While seemingly bizarre and outlandish to many, jaglions are actually among one of the more recent hybrids to be successfully produced. Although they are bred less often (thankfully) than ligers and liligers, there are two jaglions, Tsunami and Jazhara, who were born at Bear Creek Sanctuary in 2006. The two are still alive to this day, although their parents have since been separated to prevent more accidental jaglions. The two creatures seem to be healthy, and sport a very unique appearance in comparison to leopons. http://www.bearcreeksanctuary.com/jaglions.htm - PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THESE PEOPLE DO NOT GENUINELY CARE FOR THESE ANIMALS, AND ARE NOT A TRUE SANCTUARY. DO NOT PLAN VISITS TO THEM SIMPLY BECAUSE I'M USING THEM AS AN EXAMPLE OF JAGLIONS.*** https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leopon How would they occur in Lioden? A good, valid question! After all, jaguars live in South America, not Africa. However, you know what other impossible hybrid is coming to Lioden in 2018? The tigon. UPDATE! A jaguar encounter was added in the December of 2017! This male jaguar is in search of a lioness to protect him. Maybe that lioness will do a little more than just protect him... Fun Jaglion Facts! 1. Male jaglions don't have a mane. At most, they have a little bit more fluff on their chests. *** More Info on Bear Creek Bear Creek allows visitors to handle cubs, which is both stressful and unhealthy for the cubs. These cubs are taken away from their mothers before they are weaned to be bottle-fed by visitors and staff while they are still "cute". Once these cubs grow up, they are often left in awful conditions. Along with that, their production of the Jaglions shows how careless they are towards conserving wildlife. Hybrids serve no conservation purposes. Cub handling is cruel. Do not support Bear Creek, and please, don't take this suggestion as me advocating for them. |

It is possible, but Xylax's tiger in his den hints at them going down the Zoo escape route. Link In his bio, it states: Many moons ago this tiger ran away from a scary prison called zoo. He roams the forests of Africa to find a playmate. His bio was changed after tigons were confirmed for a later date, and the term playmate is possibly suggesting lionesses, which would result in tigons. Moreover, it does prove that there are zoos in lioden (there are also nature preserves) and that there is a possibility that animals (like tigers) can escape from them. Since this is one of the admin's 'cats', I believe it is a pretty reliable part of Lioden lore, which would give credence to the presence of jaglions eventually. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Jaglions certainly are possible hybrids in our world; http://www.bearcreeksanctuary.com/jaglions_photos_6.htm There are a few ways I could see not natural-felines ending up in Africa: Zoo, Circus or Private Own Pet escapee or released out into the wilds. Somewhat related, I read a Lion King fanfic which had a Jaguar male end up in Africa via Boat. /supports. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I love the jaglions! It seems to me that this would work as an event thing?? Like they can only be bred during a certain month- I'm not sure which month would work best- and of course it wouldn't always take... I don't know. Love the idea though! 0 players like this post! Like? |

A nice visualization of the differences. Jaglions would basically be like a primal leopon anatomy wise. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Support, mostly because I actually do not like leopard spotting at all, and thus just cannot get into the leopon hype at all! Jags, however, have a great coat. What would be a good name for the marking, though? Maybe bulls-eye rosette, for the central dots they often have? It would be particularly fun if they could have one of two different special bases, in reference to the dominant melanism jaguars have. 0 players like this post! Like? |

What's not to support? More hybrids are destined to be on the way and I wouldn't be apposed to it being these guys. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I was torn on this for a long time, but in the end I decided to support for the same reason I support green bases: it seems a very arbitrary place to draw a red line. Lioden already has an entire rainbow of colors (minus breedable green,) markings that do not occur on any big cat, wild dwarfs, prehistoric beasts, inland great white sharks, living gods, undead, and demons. I'm sure I'm forgetting something else weird too. Anyway, my point is as much as people want to think of Lioden as realistic, it isn't. It's a game, games are meant to be fun, hence the supernatural elements, unlikely mutations, and wide range of colors and markings. So there aren't wild jaguars in Africa. Neither are a lot of things that were added to the game for fun. So, why not let people have fun hybrids too? 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 22/04/17 @ 14:48:11 by Ankokou (#3124) |

Thank you for coming around to support this hybrid - I understand why some don't want it added to the game, but like you said, it seems ridiculous to draw a line when so much else happens in this game~ 0 players like this post! Like? |

I don't know about the zoo bit. Another alternative is there could be a hidden animal importer somewhere in the wilds of Africa and then they get busted and while all the animals are being rescued some jaguar brothers escape? Idk. xD Either way I support! 0 players like this post! Like? |

I think the zoo is more likely than an exotics vendor, but thank you either way for your support! 0 players like this post! Like? |
