The Third Lioden Hybrid - The JaglionWhat is a Jaglion? A jaglion is the unlikely offspring produced from a male jaguar and a lioness. While seemingly bizarre and outlandish to many, jaglions are actually among one of the more recent hybrids to be successfully produced. Although they are bred less often (thankfully) than ligers and liligers, there are two jaglions, Tsunami and Jazhara, who were born at Bear Creek Sanctuary in 2006. The two are still alive to this day, although their parents have since been separated to prevent more accidental jaglions. The two creatures seem to be healthy, and sport a very unique appearance in comparison to leopons. http://www.bearcreeksanctuary.com/jaglions.htm - PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THESE PEOPLE DO NOT GENUINELY CARE FOR THESE ANIMALS, AND ARE NOT A TRUE SANCTUARY. DO NOT PLAN VISITS TO THEM SIMPLY BECAUSE I'M USING THEM AS AN EXAMPLE OF JAGLIONS.*** https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leopon How would they occur in Lioden? A good, valid question! After all, jaguars live in South America, not Africa. However, you know what other impossible hybrid is coming to Lioden in 2018? The tigon. UPDATE! A jaguar encounter was added in the December of 2017! This male jaguar is in search of a lioness to protect him. Maybe that lioness will do a little more than just protect him... Fun Jaglion Facts! 1. Male jaglions don't have a mane. At most, they have a little bit more fluff on their chests. *** More Info on Bear Creek Bear Creek allows visitors to handle cubs, which is both stressful and unhealthy for the cubs. These cubs are taken away from their mothers before they are weaned to be bottle-fed by visitors and staff while they are still "cute". Once these cubs grow up, they are often left in awful conditions. Along with that, their production of the Jaglions shows how careless they are towards conserving wildlife. Hybrids serve no conservation purposes. Cub handling is cruel. Do not support Bear Creek, and please, don't take this suggestion as me advocating for them. |

I support! This could have a variation that would not take much time to add, Known as "Black jaglion". It would basically just be a melanistic jaglion, All it would need is an overlay. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 01/08/18 @ 09:21:21 by Fanny (#130789) |

Hey, big props for providing good info about why the 'sanctuary' is actually garbo and discouraging people from visiting! I love when people are conscious about those issues! Total support though! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Thank you for the support! It's extremely unfortunate that the best resource for information on these hybrids stems from such an awful organization. Then again, that's how we get most of our information on hybrids, unfortunately. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Ok i dont know what to vote cause on the 1 hand i dont approve of hybrids in general but on the other hand you know cub petting and handling is wrong and just leads to a horrid cycle of endless breeding then when they are too old for that its time to get killed and sold as parts. 0 players like this post! I don't support hybrids IRL at all, if that's what you're implying If you do, in fact, refer to not supporting in-game hybrids, that's a completely different subject. I just find that three would be a much nicer number to round off a group on rather than two. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I think at this point, we're past the whole issue of real life vs on site for hybrids. It's not exactly like hybrids on lioden will encourage users to breed them irl haha. If we didn't yet have ANY hybrids I'd understand, but Lioden has some already so we may as well look into adding more, imo? 0 players like this post! Like? |

I totally agree! Jaglions may be my favourite panthera hybrid. I made like 32984874823748248 ''Jaglions" :V'' questions on xylax' Tumblr, so xD (jk) And i didn't knew that Bear Creek is that awful. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Thank you for the support, but please don't harass poor Xylax ;0; He works really hard and has a lot of work on his plate, and I think he should rest a bit before taking on yet ANOTHER long project like the Tigons. But yeah, Bear Creek is very much Not The Best place. Any place that supports cub petting is, and any place that produces hybrids is. (Rescue sanctuaries who have hybrids are often a different story; Always check the history of the animal first. The jaglions at Bear Creek were the result of cohabbing two in-tact animals at the sanctuary, which likely means they were trying for jaglions even though they paint it to be an accident.) 0 players like this post! I can't see the Mock-Up Art .-. Edit: Okay I can see the Mock-Up Art now. Anyways, assuming that the humans take the Jaguar back to the zoo in January (You only get the Jaguar encounter in December) maybe First Generation Jaglions can only be bred during December? Unless somehow for the sake of all-year-long ability to breed First Gen Jaglions, maybe the Tiger gives the Jaguar tips on how not to get caught and so the Jaguar can finally be free lol. If they could only be bred during December, it'd be quite the challenge. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 12/11/18 @ 06:16:51 by Opposing Elements (#141908) |

definitely support, more hybrids means more chances for us to breed hybrids, and really, how can anyone say no to that? @ the people insisting that leopons and jaglions would be no different... the differences are there. yes, theyre similar, but in no way are they the same. its like people insisting huskies and wolves are hard to tell apart because they dont bother to learn the differences.(though in that case, getting a dog mistaken for a wolf can get it taken away and killed. theres no danger to leopards or jaguars for mixing them up, at least not that i know of) 0 players like this post! I support the idea as a hybrid and i 100% do not support that "sanctuary " (in my opinion the animals should be re located to a true sanctuary where the health and happiness of the animals is priority #1) 0 players like this post! Like? |
