Jo was actually a bit surprised at Aaron's words. She had known he was a bit bright for a football player, but he was genuinely smart. She immediately tried to hide her surprise as she turned to look at him. "That's really good," she answers before pursing her lips in a fake smile and nodding her head. Then she opened her journal before looking at the equipment on the table and then the clock. Jo liked to take her time on her projects. She liked to make sure that everything was nice and perfect, and since there was only five minutes left of class, Jo knew she wouldn't be able to get anything done so what was the point in beginning? She turned back to look at Aaron. "We don't have time to start right now." Then Jo sighed before flaring her nose and sighing, looking at the clock once more before at Aaron, already regretting the words that were about to leave her mouth. "But if you want to come to my dorm later we can start. No funny business."

Aaron had grown accustomed to hiding his emotions and masking it with something more appropriate but Jo's words would've made him choke if he had liquid in his mouth. He clenched his jaw as he tried to hide his surprise before nodding and closing up his books and stacking them up on each other. He stared forward as he thought about how to approach tonight, just finish the project and do it without letting Jr out of the bag then leave. Yes, leave, it would repel her even more if you tried any 'funny business', as she liked to call it. When the bell rang, he grabbed his books and looked back to see Dan flirting with this chick with her cleavage on full display, if Aaron was being honest, Dan looked kind of disgusted. Dan got up from his seat too and trailed behind Aaron as they both walked out the door.

"Dude what the fuck was that about? I've never seen you lean the other way from girls with their boobs out on full display." Aaron laughed as they met up with Ty who was getting out of Mathematics. "Ooh what did I miss?" Ty jumped in. "Ugh don't even get me started on what that girl said to me." Dan groaned and covered his face with his hand. "Indulge us bro." Ty smiled at me as he nudged Dan's arm. "She went up to me and her hand immediately shot to my crotch and as the instructor was talking she started to fucking rub it. When Mr. Hopper assigned partners she said, 'ooh it looks like I have you all to myself tonight, are you into BDSM.'" Both Aaron and Ty busted out laughing until they felt like their guts were going to come out of their mouths.

"Ha.ha laugh all you want, I'm guessing you didn't do any better." His question was directed towards Aaron, but Aaron just patted his friend on the back, "She invited me into her dorm to do the project." Dan's face fumed as he turned away and kicked a locker nearby, "Damn it! How the hell man!" But Aaron didn't respond, he just walked off to the last class of the day.

When the school day was over Aaron went back to his dorm room before changing into a pair of dark jeans and a maroon t-shirt then applying a fresh but subtle layer of cologne. After about half an hour he left and went to the office when he realized he didn't catch Jo's dorm number. Even that was a walk in the park, after saying it was for a group project, the secretary just handed Jo's dorm number to him.

He went up to the written number, Block C 62, and knocked on the door, awaiting a response.

After class, Jo had quickly left wanting to get as far away from that class a second possible, still not sure about what she had asked Aaron to do and she hoped with everything that her plan did not backfire on her. She bit her bottom lip, in deep thought as Avery and Kyle came up to find her. "Hey babe, how was class?" Avery asks her, babe always being the name she had called Jo. Avery flanked her left with Kyle on the outside of her. "You were there," Jo tells her, raising an eyebrow, as Avery did the same. "I know, I was, but how was it?" She emphasized the last three words this time making Jo roll her eyes in response. Jo shook her head, as they kept on walking down the hall, having finished the day of school. "It was so good I wish I would have taken you up on your offer to sit beside me." Avery giggled. "It couldn't have been that bad." Jo shook her head. "You have no idea."

Afterwards, Jo told the two of them goodbye before walking up to her dorm room. It was nice and roomy and she didn't have to share it. Not for this year at least which made Jo happy since ahe wasn't too much of a people person anyway. She went into her room before changing into her usual at home attire. A pair of blue Nike shorts that showed off her long, creamy legs and a white tank top that showed a bit of cleavage though left most to the imagination wnd it showed just how thin she was. Jo had learned in her first week that it got rather hot in the dorm so she often wore things like that to keep from overheating. Then Jo let her hair down, allowing it to cascade down her shoulders before she walked into the kitchen deciding she could grab a snack before Aaron arrived.

She still thought it weird that he was coming to her dorm. She'd known him for two years and never once had he said more than two words to her. So for him now to feel so intrigued with her, Jo thought it was sort of weird though she didn't comment as she warmed up a hot pocket. Then Jo heard a knock on her door and went to answer, seeing that it was Aaron. She gestured him inside before she closed the door and told him to sit in her small living room that was nicely furnished. "Make yourself at home," Jo tells him before She went to get her hot pocket. "I'm making a pocket if you want one." She may not have liked Aaron too much but she was taught with manners and wouldn't be let someone anyone change that about her. And her parents had always taught her to make her guests feel at home and fix them food.

As Jo opened her dorm room door, as a guy, the first thing he noticed was the slight cleavage her shirt was showing. She welcomed him in then shut the door behind him before offering him something, but he was too caught up in starting at her long legs. He smirked at the thoughts in his mind but then shook his head to get rid of them before sitting down at the table in front of the TV and opening his note packet. "No it's alright, thank you for the offer though." He replied even though he had no idea what she said. "So atoms," he started, wanting to get his attention back on what he came here for, "it says here we have to elaborate what they are, what purpose they have and the different models made my different scientists...I swear this is high school stuff, I think this may just be review. Oh wait, we need to build one of the following models." Aaron started listing off the models, "we can choose between the billiard ball model, planetary model or Bohr model. Yea this is definetly high school material, but oh well, which one did you want to do?"

Jo had rolled her eyes, seeing his glance at her chest though she hadn't commented since he quickly fixed his gaze. She got her hot pocket and a Minute Maid lemonade before going back into the living room area. She moved her backpack to the couch before Shen opened it and took out the paper her teacher had handed out that had all the guidelines and rules and everything of the such. She looked it over, taking a bit into her pocket before she ran a hand through her hair, something she always did when she was thinking. Jo never did I think noticingly. It had always just been a habit of hers that she didn't even realize she had. "We can do the Bohr model. I think I may have all the supplies that we need." And then she got up before going intot the hallway closer and pulling out the materials she thought they were going to need. And then she got paint out of her room before taking it all back to the living room. "Let's get started."

After a few hours of hard work Aaron leaned back and looked at the finished model, running his hands through his hair to get it out of his face, but then realizing his mistake when his hands stuck to his hair. Great he just combed paint through his hair. "Well shit, do you have a paper towel I can borrow for the time being," he asks Jo while motioning to his hair, "we still have the type up to do and if rather not have paint on my forehead and hands." He muttered.

Jo turned to look at Aaron and snorted before shaking her head and getting up to go into her kitchen, getting a few paper towels before handing them to him. "You look ridiculous," she tells him before she looked at their model. It was perfect. There was nothing else she could say because well it had just been done well. "We still have the paper to write with it as well," she tells him, scrunching up her nose before she goes to get her laptop out of her bedroom, so they an start writing it. "How should we begin it?"

Aaron took the paper towel from Jo's hand, "Thanks," he said before wiping off his hands and forehead, leaving the paint in his hair to wash out tonight. "Hmm, it says here we have to explain what atoms are, maybe start by saying, Atoms are tiny particles that make up everything in the world, there's an atomic nucleus that has protons and neutrons, then there is empty space where electrons take up half of it."

"That's really good," Jo tells Aaron looking at him, actually surprised by his answer as she began to type it into her computer. Boys on the football team weren't generally in the smartest class and didn't make the best grades, but something was beginning to tell Jo that Aaron was different. They continued to work on the project before they finished the essay, and Ko read it once out loud before giving it to Aaron to read. "Working with you wasn't as bad as I had imagine," she tells him, a small smile coming to her face. "I'm genuinely surprised."

Aaron wanted to do a fricken backflip at her words, take that Dan! He thought as he smiled at Jo. "I know you don't like me very much, to be honest I think you hated me when I sat beside you in class but I'm glad I could change your mind at least partially." He said genuinely, as he stood up, "See you in class on Friday." He said as he opened the door and walked out, then he closed it behind him and smiling to himself again, one step, ok more like a half step, closer, he thought to him self as he walked back to his dorm room.

The following morning Aaron couldn't be more happy that there weren't football practices on Wednesday, he couldn't feel more mentally and physically spent from the last two days. "Hey! Aaron!" Ty's voice came booming down the hallways. "What?" Aaron turned around and looked at Ty and Dan approaching him. "How'd it go dude?" Ty smirked and looked at Dan who was obviously not happy. "Nothing big, but we finished the project and she said working with me wasn't as bad as she imagined, and that she was genuinely surprised." Aaron smirked and crossed his arms, "That is a step further than you got with her my friend." Aaron clapped Dan hard on the back and gripped his shoulder. "Get the 300 bucks ready because I'm winning this thing."

Jo watched after Aaron, as she watched him walk down her hallway, wondering who he really was. He wasn't the dumb and idiotic quarter back she had thought he was. He was bright and cute and funny. Jo shook her head, clearing those thoughts from her mind. She couldn't think like that. Not about people like him. Not about guys who had one night stands and always had a different girl on his shoulder. Jo wouldn't allow herself to do that because that would just end in her getting her heart broke while Aaron got another notch in his bedpost or belt or wherever he kept em. Jo didn't care where but she did knkw that she would not be one of those girls. And beside that she didn't really know the guy. She couldn't just a book by its cover, no matter what. She would have to find out who he really was before she made any decisions.

The next day, as soon as Jo walked into class, Avery surrounded her, asking her questions about Aaron and what had happened and whether or not she liked him. Jo answered all of the questions, telling her that it was okay, nothing had happened, all they had done was the project, and that she did not like him. Avery had been disappointed but Jo hadn't cared, as class began. She went through all of her classes until it was finally time for lunch and she was relieved.

A few days later... (Friday)

As Aaron stepped into the familiar room and sat at the middle back again, he looked down at the laptop he brought which had the final copy of the write up Jo and him did. Scanning it over a few times to make sure no mistakes were left he was surprised that Jo was able to catch all of them, he was about to do another scan through but he was cut short when Brit walked up to him. Since fucking when did was she in this class? "Heyyy Babe," She drawled trailing a finger down his chest, on any normal occasion he would've flirted back but this cheerleader is going to jeopardize his bet with Dan if Jo catches him making out with the biggest slut in the school. "Brit," He says trying to sound bored even though Jr was twitching in his pants, he pushed her off and straitened his shirt, "I'm a bit tired today from being nailed in practice so if you don't mind, please, just back off?" He said in my rejection voice as her face flashed with disappointment. "Oh well call me if you ever feel the need to...nail anything." She winked before walking out of the classroom. He breathed a sigh of relief as I sat back in my chair. "Where was I?" He mumbled, "Oh yea reviewing over the write-up."

Oh her way to class, Jo saw Aaron and was about to say hello before she saw Brit, the college's best cheerleader and slut, walked up to Aaron. She immediately frowned before she watched them, as she came onto him. She sighed, knowing that she shouldn't have thought that Aaron was any different or had changed at all. He hadn't and Jo shouldn't have let her feelings get the best of her. When she looked again, Brit was gone, and Jo rolled her eyes before she walked towards the classroom or towards Aaron really. "Do you have the report?" Her voice was colder than the last time they saw each other. It was much more mean and ruthless as if Tuesday hadn't happened at all and as if she hadn't thought for a momen that she did have feelings for him. Because Jo knew that no natter how hard she tried, she couldn't change him no matter what. He was who he was and who said he even wanted to change? He probably lived like as it was.

Aaron inwardly cringed at the face Jo gave him when she asked him about the report, his body was still tense as he looked into her cold and hard eyes. "Yea I have it right here." He muttered turning his computer screen to face her. All he could think about was the fact that Jo most likely saw Brit walk in, just why, when he's making progress with Jo, someone comes and sweeps said progress with a fricking mop...er broom. He motioned to the seat beside him and looked up a Jo, she's probably going to decline but it couldn't hurt right? Yea ok, he thought to himself, for once in his life, he felt nervous around a girl and actually cared what she thought. "Sit?" he question before clenching his fist on his desk at how stupid he sounded.

Jo raised an eyebrow at him before shaking her head. "No," she replies. Then she looks around the classroom . Jo was usually the first one into class in any class, but she didn't feel like being first. Not if it meant having to wait with Aaron. She scrunched up her nose. 'I'm not staying," she tells him, wondering why she had even told him that much. She pushed her backpack onto her shoulders. "Ill see you when class starts." And she looks around for a moment wondering where she will go before heading in the direction of the school library, a place she loved to go when she was confused or thinking about something and at the moment she was both.
