Mercer
Eight Years Old || Male || Mentions: Sophie

It had been weeks since the snows had let the tiger escape, and therefore it had also been weeks since he'd had anything larger than a vole to eat. Luckily he'd had a near steady supply of small prey, but it wasn't enough to completely rid him of the annoying emptiness that plagued the pit of his stomach. Pausing for a moment, the male glanced over his shoulder to check on his mate before continuing on in their search for a more substantial meal. Finally a scent drifted on the cold wind, a scent the tiger had almost forgotten due to time. Once more he paused, this time scenting the air and trying to pinpoint what direction the scent was coming from.

Once he figured it out he swung to the east and set out across the snow, hunger driving his pace. It didn't take long for the big cat to get close to his quarry, and he settled into a crouch as the silhouette of a large deer came into view. Carefully he moved forward, freezing whenever the herbivore lifted its head. His slow pace was agonizing, but vital and soon he was close enough to the animal to spring. An explosion of snow accompanied the frantic cry of the buck as his claws sank into its haunches and he pulled the deer to the ground to swiftly end its life. Flanks heaving from the exertion, he turned back to Sophie with a grin. "Time to eat!"

(Starting out as loners I'm guessing? o.o'')

Lucifer
Female / White Lion / 3
Mentions : Mercer, Sophie

A single white lioness prowled through the snow, camouflaged perfectly against her backdrop. She was the rare gem not many got to see or enjoy, she was alone for the most part. A few males seen to be trailing her though none dared to get close to the snow white beauty. Icy gaze whipped up at the startled cry of a large prey animal, though it was to far to see what it was at this moment. She let out a low growl, tail lashing behind her as she stalked forwards. Paws leaving perfectly grooves in the snow, showing she was a large predator, though which of many could she be? She flicked her tail as she moved slowly forwards, head tilting as she neared the origin of the sound. Luci found something she wasn't expecting, two Siberians had caught a deer! Her mouth watered at the smell of the fresh kill though she made no move to get any closer to the pair. Lips lifting to reveal razor sharp incisors as she yawned.

The fae had always been an outcast and now, she barely stood out. Her eyes, and pelt alike were hidden in the snowy backdrop, the only thing visible was her nose and inner lips. Though they could've been mistaken for anything, Luci flicked a snow covered ear and slowly laid herself down, burrowing her muzzle into the snow and just observing the pair. Ears forwards and alert for any crunching snow or retaliation from the duo of tigers. Ears laid back as something moved off to her left, probably the herd scurrying away from a once leader or beloved member. She huffed lightly at the thought, snow billowing up around her muzzle and fluttering back down again from the exhale of air that suddenly snapped against it.

Sophie
6 years | Bengal Tiger | Female | Mentions: Mercer, Lucifer

Damn snow, get off me, the female thought miserably while shaking one of her fore paws to try to rid herself of at least some of the snow that clung to her. The genes that caused her highly desirable coloration also caused her to have unusually thick and soft fur, which in turn was poor at doing part of it's job: repelling water and snow. Sophie's lip was curled in irritation, her ears flat on her head and her eyes down on the snow as she walked so she did not see Mercer looking back at her or she would've acted like everything was okay. She felt a ball of snow forming between the pads of one of her paws so lifted paused to lift that paw to her mouth and use her rough tongue and teeth to remove the snow. She shook her paw again before putting it down and finally looking up to see Mercer was no longer in front of her.

Panic set in for a moment as she scanned the area before she finally saw he had turned and was heading in a different direction. She used leaping bounds to catch with him before settling into a walk again. When Sophie saw him drop into a crouch, she immediately did so also and watched him closely. Her annoyance with the snow had caused her to miss the scent of prey but it was obvious what Mercer's behavior meant. She hung back so as to not interfere and mess with the hunt. The snow slowed her down too much to be of any use to him and besides tigers were used to hunting alone. When the deer cried out, Sophie jumped up and bounded over to her mate. "Good job, hun," she said as she aimed to rub against him. Had she known that they were being watched she would not have been so openly affectionate to him. Sophie then crouched down next to the deer and started to dig in. That was when the wind shifted and she caught the smell of another predator lurking somewhere nearby. Her ears pinned back against her skull as she looked around and tried to find whoever it was. Her body was tense and a growl emanated from her throat as she was ready to attack.

Kaya| Jaguar| Female| Mentions: Mercer, Sophie, Lucifer

High above, the jet black silhouette of a large predator could be seen, its lean frame perched easily on a thick branch. A long tail was the only thing that moved, the tip twitching back and forth as she watched the two tigers share the meal. She hadn't acted fast enough... A soft growl erupted from her throat, one of frustration rather than anger. That deer had been the only one she'd seen in weeks, and due to her lack of reaction time, the other predators had gotten it first. Not that it was their fault, they had won the meat fair and square, which was why the young fae remained up in the trees instead of confronting them. Also, snow was not her friend, but she had grown used to it. Though she was not one to back down from a fight, she also wasn't stupid, and going after two tigers was just that. Suddenly, the scent of another large cat reached her muzzle, one that was only faintly remembered. Tigers were plentiful where she came from, but she had only learned of lions after she had been captured, and was surprised by their existence. Snorting quietly, the panther scanned the forest, two pools of molten gold catching every movement as she searched for the smell. It looked as if the tigers had caught wind of it as well, for the female below had become tense, ready for a fight.

"Well, this just became interesting." Kaya purred, her voice holding the lilting accent of some faraway land. Digging her claws into the soft bark, she stretched out on the tree branch, her gaze pinned to the scene below. Entertainment was scarce in this barren place, so the large female clung on to any source that she found. Of course, a fight would be the time for her to make herself disappear, but for now she would stay. Besides, if the pair left anything behind she would love to have an actual meal. The thought of scavenging made her ears go back, but survival was her main priority, not pride.

Kohana
Cheetah | Male | Mentions: Mercer, Sophie, Lucifer, Kaya

The snow shifted and crunched beneath the weight of the lone cheetah as he picked his way through the trees. Every now and then he would stop and lift his paws, shaking them one by one with the most disdainful expression on his face. He was not fond of the cold, but the weather was the least of his concerns at the moment. Since escaping that dreadful cage a few weeks ago, he’d been living on nothing more than small rodents despite his best efforts to find and catch bigger prey. It was difficult to adjust to the feeling of the snow beneath his paws after spending so much time on a dirty, solid floor. Running at top speed was out of the question and, alas, he relied on his speed to catch himself a decent sized meal. No deer, no fawns; just mice, voles, and the occasional hare. He was beginning to grow ravenous.

It was at that moment he scented a familiar metallic tang on the wind. Blood. Kohana hesitated, the tip of his tail twitching anxiously, before he made his decision. He turned towards the scent and followed it through the trees, picking up his pace into a brisk trot. His stomach was growling and aching with an emptiness he’d never felt before. If there was any chance of food, he had to risk it. The cheetah slowed his pace as he neared the source of the tantalizing smell and ducked behind a thick tree trunk, pressing his body close enough to the earth for his white furred chest to brush against the snow. He did not want to be seen. Slowly, carefully, he peered around the trunk, his keen eyes searching. Almost immediately he caught sight of two tigers off in the distance, standing over what looked to be the body of a buck. But one of the huge felines was tense, their ears pinned against their skull as they glanced around as though trying to find something, and for one frightening moment Kohana thought they had already realized he was there. There were other scents on the wind, though, becoming clear to him now that he was so close. He was not the only predator hiding in these woods.

Mercer
8 Years Old || Mentions: Sophie, Kaya, Kohana, Lucifer

He was just about to ask why his mate was suddenly displaying signs of aggression when a myriad of scents reached him. They all had one thing in common-they were all predators. A low grumbling growl rolled from his own throat as he turned to see where the scents were coming from, pinning his ears back and pulling his lips up from his teeth in an obvious threat. This food was theirs, and he was prepared to kill to protect it.

The first stranger he spotted was the one who happened to be the closest. A white lioness lay crouched against the snow, as if she thought the blanket of white would hide her. She might have been successful if not for the tiger's well developed sense of smell, but that was beside the point now. Flicking his tail, he turned so that he faced the female head on and scanned the surrounding trees for any signs of more lions. He remembered well enough that the lions were usually not caged alone and tended to travel in groups and he was determined to not be surprised. He didn't see any more lions, however he did spot a cheetah peeking around a thick tree nearby.

Lowering his head, his eyes danced back and forth between the two strangers as the third scent teased his mind. He could tell the last cat was close, but he couldn't see anyone else. Suddenly he heard the murmur of a female voice from above him, although he couldn't make out the words. A quick upwards glance was all it took for him to spot the jaguar lounging above them, and he responded by increasing his growl until it vibrated through the air around him. "My mate and I will be eating our fill of this deer first. Anything that is left you may have. However, any of you that get too close before we've finished will become meals yourself." It was obvious that the threat wasn't an empty one as he gave a low chuff to Sophie before turning and tearing into the deer ravenously.

Lucifer
Female / 3 / White Lioness
Mentions : ALL

Lucifer let out a low growl as the male spotted her, the female seeming to have grazed over her pelt. She flicked her tail before rising to her paws, he seemed to be searching for her pride mates, "I'm alone tiger." She'd call thereafter, though she'd revealed her location to all others. Her snow white pelt made her stand out, other lions either jealous or disgusted with her. Refused to pride with the regal lioness. She snapped her gaze to the others, having spotted them a bit before the beast of a male. The orange cat speaking to the lot, she wanted to be the first to that kill if at all possible. "I come in peace tiger, The kill drew me is all." She'd respond after his 'speech'.

The female inching forwards before laying down respectively, eyes downcast or watching the others feverishly. The large female let out a huff, the breath of hot air billowing snow up into the air. She flipped her ears 'round before bobbing her head expectantly, waiting for the slightly larger felines to have their fill of the first deer she had ever seen. She snapped her white gaze 'round to the cheetah then the jaguar before her ears flipped back. The other felines making her slightly uneasy, she felt her shoulder ache at the close proximity. A low growl forming at the notion, head 'rounding to the muscle. Old scars lay there, from other lions or felines.

Kaya| Jaguar| Female| Mentions: Mercer, Sophie, Lucifer, Kohana

The sleek female simply flicked her ears at the male's threat. Up here she was safe, tigers weren't exactly known for their climbing prowess. Letting out a disinterested yawn, Kaya stretched out even more, getting as comfortable as she could on the rough bark.
"Relax striped one. I know you caught that deer fair and square, I have no intention of trying to impede on your feast." The words were calm and even, with no hint of fear or hesitation. Kaya was used to being threatened by larger felines, and even males of her kind. They usually felt threatened by her, as she was an abnormal size for her gender and species. But even so, she knew better than to get into a fight that there was no hope in winning. Unless somebody she cared about was in danger, that was a completely different story. Though out here she was alone.

Her intense golden gaze moved to the pale white lioness. Studying her, Kaya realized that she might have competition for whatever the tigers left. The cheetah didn't pose much of a threat, as he was smaller than her, and in the snow his speed wouldn't do much good. Snorting in annoyance, Kaya stood and jumped from her spot in the treetops, landing easily on the snowy ground. The kill had attracted too much attention. At this rate there would be nothing left for her. Stretching out muscles that had become stiff with her seditary state, the dark fae raised her muzzle in search of new scents. Turning her head, she studied the forest around her, focusing primarily on where the herd of deer had disappeared. Kaya had tracked prey before, and this would be no different.

Kohana
Cheetah | Male | Mentions: All

He knew he had been found out the moment the tiger glanced in his direction. Kohana drew his head back, pressing his body closer to the trunk and hiding himself among the roots as best he could. It was no use now. Both he and the tigers knew there was nothing more than a tree standing between them. His body was rigid with tension as he watched the larger predators, biting back the instinct to run as fast as he could in the opposite direction. He needed that food. His gaze drifted upwards at the same time the tiger’s did and he curled his lip at the sight of the lean black figure perched upon a thick branch. So, that was the source of one of the unfamiliar scents. But where was the other?

A voice drew his attention and he adjusted his position to peek around the tree, catching sight of what looked to be a pure white lioness crouched in the snow. Unlike the others, this species of feline he knew well. He pinned his ears against his skull as she turned her gaze to him, feeling the faint flutter of a hiss build in his throat, but he bit it back and looked away sharply. The last thing he wanted to do was antagonize any of these cats. If they decided the deer carcass wasn’t worth the wait, he was by far the easiest target. In a slow and careful movement, almost as though he expected them to lunge at him the moment he so much as blinked, he rose to his paws and inclined his head towards the tiger. “Of course,” he murmured. His voice was even, betraying nothing, and he kept his expression passive. A brisk glance towards the lioness, then the jaguar, and he shifted his weight uneasily when he noticed she had leaped down from her perch. She seemed to be scenting the air and after a moment she turned her head to gaze further into the forest. Was she thinking of leaving? He hoped so.

Sophie
6 years | Bengal Tiger | Female

Sophie caught the scents of two more felines in the area and immediately her eyes sought them out. A jaguar in one of the trees. Certainly too far out of reach, even if the trees could hold the weight of a large tiger. And then there was the cheetah by the tree. Their leggy bodies were obviously built for speed but not in deep snow like this. Surely he'd have a hard time getting up and keeping up speeds in the snow. There was one way to find that out... But Mercer had already spoken. Had it been up to her, the other cats would all have been chased away but seeing as Mercer was the one who wasn't impeded by snow and it was technically his kill, she would respect his decision.

She kept tense and alert as she started to dig in despite two of the cats' words, both in case they decided they didn't want to wait and in case more big cats were attracted to the kill. She wasn't so much worried about the cheetah, certainly one his size and build would be easy to kill if they could catch him, but the lioness and jaguar were more worrisome. When the lioness inched forward and bobbed her head expectantly as if she was owed any part of this kill, Sophie's tail lashed angrily behind her and ears were pinned back as another angry growl emanated from her throat. What the lioness did in response would determine whether or not Sophie attacked her but Sophie wasn't liking the lioness's gal or attitude. At least the cheetah and jaguar were smart enough to not act entitled.
