Private RP with 750 TheSeijun It had been a long, cold winter... There was nothing to show for it, as work had been slow, and Galin had been forced to find jobs in other places. His dearly beloved sister, whom was always so sickly, needed the money he provided so she could continue to get what medicines she needed. They were expensive, for the most part, and extremely difficult to get often times. Doing what he did had earned him a dark name, though he found it quite humorous. A soft snort was given, however, as Galin moved out. He was tall, much like an elf would be, but a bit more muscled. He had dark hair, cropped close to his skull to prevent it from being pulled on in a fight. Dark emerald eyes peered from his face, and he, overall, was a rather intimidating character. Frowning a bit, though, he sighed, and moved off. SOmeone had finally come to hire his services, and it was high and time he get some real good money rolling in... However, this one was going to take him some distance from his beloved sister, and she needed to be taken care of. Hopefully the person that he'd left her with was going to be good to her. He'd killed the last one... Shaking his head, though, he soon mounted up on his horse, and began to head towards the far west. It'd take him more towards where humans and elf kind lived, and he did not like either one.... The man, however, didn't realize that this journey would be a little different from the others. "You mean, don't you have other horses to run into? You were the one fleeing from those men after what you stole. Now, I may be cold blooded, but stealing?" That wasn't his style...unless he just couldn't help himself. Sometimes that darkness won out when it came to women, causing a soft shudder at the thought, the things he could do to this beautiful creature before him. Snap out of it! You have a job to do! he thought harshly to himself, the darkness creeping in. "Now, my question is this... Do you care to apologize? Or...must I wrest it from you in some other manner?" Looked like that wasn't about to work... Goodness, he could get quite demented.... 0 players like this post! Like? |

"Do I have other horses to run into? Rude!" She spat angrily, moving towards him. Yenearsira hated being falsely accused, and absolutely hated being talked down upon. Though that probably had something to do with her upbringing. No one talked down to her when she joined her family in court, but out here.. everyone had something nasty to say, as she was a woman. And an elf at that. Those in this area of town had certain emotions about what she was. Stopping about two feet in front of him, she glared up at him. "I see nothing wrong with stealing. At least I don't try to start fights with strangers, and then stalk them just to fondle their horses." Her voice was a quiet hiss now as she went to grab for the bay gelding's reins. Before she had walked out, she had slipped the silver necklace around her neck. It was a small choker that glistened in the soft torchlight of the stables, a large amethyst in the center of the piece. She loved the way it looked in the light. Her other hand toyed with it nervously as her other hand was making for the reins. 0 players like this post! Like? |

"Ah, ah, ah," Galin cooed, then, pulling the reins back from her reach. "I came to see if you really were quite the thief, and if someone has such manners as you. Let me guess... You...are of some form of high elf, which leads me to believe noble birth? You absolutely hate being talked down to, based on your stance, expression, and overall attitude... I..." Here he paused a moment, glancing about himself. What had that been...? His horse, even, stamped a hoof. "...I do believe I may have overstayed my welcome..." (Btw, feel free to bring those two in any time!) 0 players like this post! Like? |

"And you have a problem with elves?" Yenearsira cocked a brow, withdrawing her hand. She listened to his little rant quietly, boredly almost. Her adrenaline had calmed by this time, as the man just seemed odd, and slightly fake. Sure, he was fast, but the sense of danger she had felt emanate from him had since passed. Narrowing her eyes, she took a step back, though apparently a second too late, as suddenly, all of the wind was knocked out her her. Her hands shot up to guard her throat as a man pressed her up against the wall of the stables, pulling a blade from his belt. A cough escaped her mouth as she attempted to get a breath in, and her horse pulled roughly on the reins in Galin's grasp, spooked by the ruckus. It was the two men from earlier. One with his hand around Yenearsira's throat, the other walking up slowly, a smirk on his face. "I believe we have some talking to do, half-elf. Your presence is.. unwelcome, but needed. Her, however.. We just need the necklace back. Go ahead, Colyn. End it quickly." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Galin's eyes narrowed, and he soon shot his hand forth, a whispered word given and said. Dark energy shot forth at this point, and wrapped gently about the female elf. "I'll warn you right now... End her life, you will end yours and that of your companion... Care to test me on this? We did learn earlier I am far better than you...." Magic, now that was his trump card. "If I go, she goes...and she gets to keep that pretty little necklace. I think it suits her much better than whomever it was upon already..." Perhaps he'd give them the silvers to pay for it. Perhaps not. It all depended upon if they called out to see if he bluffed or not. He was a hard man to read, eyes cold and lifeless, almost. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yenearsira pulled at the man's hand, eyes glancing fearfully at the blade at her jugular. This was so not how she had planned on spending the evening.. but then it happened. The energy that flashed towards her startled her to her core, and she froze even more. She felt the grip on her neck loosen though, and she took the opportunity to the fullest extent. Her elbow shot out and into the gut of the man that held her, and then bolted to stand behind Galin. She had no idea who he was, and he'd just threatened to kill her moments earlier, but now, for some reason, he was standing up for her. Damn, this guy was strange.. but Yenearsira knew a chance when she saw one. Both men had frozen up to look at Galin now, not used to the presence of magic, and fear flashed behind their dark eyes. Colyn, the man that had been holding Yene, stood now, his hand on his stomach. He moved slowly over to his companion, shooting him a scared look, but the other man held his ground. "Fine. The woman may come.. But it's your job to keep her hands from stealing anything else. She's robbed nearly half of the capital, and the only reason she isn't dead is her father." The man let out a sigh, stepping backwards. "But the royal family requests your presence now, Bounty Hunter." 0 players like this post! Like? |

"And tell me," Galin then mused. "What can they possibly offer me that can take me away from my current job? I don't go because I'm requested... I go because I get paid, and my prices are not cheap..." He was a strange one indeed... Galin was not like a normal book, where one could read and know everything. He was different, definitely different. Something in his mind worked, but there was soemthing wrong. One had to understnad him to know what went on in it. Very few knew... Only his sister did, and she could do nothing to help him... 0 players like this post! Like? |

With a look between Galin and the two men, Yenearsira moved to poke the strange half elf in the ribs. Raising a brow and rubbing her neck with her other hand, she motioned with her head at the men. "Well, I assume if it's the royal family, and they didn't seen trained assassins.. I'd say they would be willing to pay. And well." Her tone was matter of fact, and she shrugged her shoulders lightly. She watched as the man chuckled, a genuine smile pulling at the corners of his mouth. He nodded to Galin. "Of course they're willing to pay, as the elf said. Probably much better than your current job. I'd say it would be worth checking out.. and less trouble than having the royal guard at your back if you don't." His voice was flat as he mounted a horse, his companion following suit. 0 players like this post! Like? |

"Ah, well... If they can convince me, I just may be willing to do it. But you two... You go first. If it's a trap, I'll know it, and you'll be the ones to spring it for me, nice and pretty." He motioned for Yene to get upon her own steed, he soon following suit. THe half breed would keep a close eye upon the woman. "If you aren't fooling me, I'll throw a few silvers your way to compensate for the lack of the necklace. Fool me? And you'll soon be missing your heads..." This he said in a much darker tone, his emerald eyes glinting a strange color a few moments. With that being cleared up, he waited for them to march onward first. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yenearsira regarded Galin cautiously as she put a foot into the stirrup, pulling herself onto Lyari's back. She stroked his neck gently, murmuring her apologies as she looked at the strange group. "Why can't I just go home?" She grumbled irritably, throwing a look at the half elf that was now behind her. She didn't even know his name, and was growing tired of this nonsense. Her eyes darted to the horizon, a sigh escaping her lips as she saw the sun peak up and over. Reining the horse to the right, she nudged him forward, following behind the men. Yene had no idea what this was about, but she knew it was going to land her in a bunch of trouble with her family if they heard about it. 0 players like this post! Like? |

"Why did you leave in the first place if you want to go home?" Galin then asked, throwing his hood back up and over his face. It had fallen off at some point, and he hadn't realized it. "If you don't steal anything, I'll make sure you arrive safely back home to your beloved noble parents. Must be nice ot never have wanted for anything, hm?" Yet, here she was, making a fool of herself. Spoiled brat... That's what all of the noble society were. Spoiled. They didn't care how others were affected. But, neither do you.... whispered that sweet, sweet darkness. This caused him to scowl a bit, and he just soon quieted. There was no need to speak anymore...not to any of them. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Knowing what would happen to her once her family heard about her little adventure, Yeneasria cringed. Galin's statement had some truth to it, but he also didn't know everything. Not at all.. and she had the scars covering her back and upper arms to prove it. "Yeah, not once. I would never need anything else," Her voice was cold and dark now, devoid of the previous sarcasm and whining. Her eyes cast up to the bluish gold sky as the sun began to rise, the sound of hooves on cobblestone now all they heard. They wove between buildings, and as the minutes past, the structures began to get larger and much, much nicer. This neighborhood was slightly more familiar to the young elf, but as they reached the castle, a cold feeling crept up Yenearsira's spine. She didn't want to be here. Not today. Not dressed like this. As they entered the courtyard, servants flocked out to grasp the reins of their horses, offering a hand to each person to dismount if needed. The two men fell gracefully from their horses, pulling cloaks over their shoulders. "The King will see you shortly, if you enter the hall there. Just try not to touch anything," The larger man hissed, motioning for his partner and the group to follow him in. 0 players like this post! Like? |

"Ah, I could say the same to you, dear friend," Galin mused softly. It was unknown if he was being quite serious, or mocking the man. His gaze turned towards Yene, though, and a small frown appeared. After a moment, he just shrugged, and dismounted before leaving the reins in one of the stable boy's hands. He trusted they would see to his horse. For the time being, he just followed after the two men, cautious, wary of his surroundings. It could easily be a trap... While Galin was known to be quite devious, he was not exactly impervious to damage and, most of all, death... Sure, immortality was in his blood, and he'd live until something finally did kill him, but that did not mean he couldn't die... He was tense, but held a cool air about him. 0 players like this post! Yenearsira was staring straight ahead, shoulders rigid.. well, everything about her quite rigid. One hand was in a fist by her side as she followed the men, about three feet in front of Galin, and the other was absently playing with silver hair. Luckily, it was too early for court to be going, and her parents would not be here, but the king still would be. That would send news flying back to her father within the hour. As they neared the end of the room, two fairly humble chairs sat, though one slightly larger than the other. A man was pacing in front of them, black beard rather unkempt and his balding hair a mess upon his head... which was rather absent of a certain item, considering who he was. As he heard them approaching, his eyes quickly darted over to the group, widening slightly at the sight of Yenearsira. Then his gaze flicked quickly to Galin, confused as to why the two were together. He shook his head though, straightening and facing the group. "Lady Yenearsira, a pleasure as always," He began, his tone lilting in slight confusion, but then turned to look at Galin. The two men stopped about five feet away from the king, and Yenearsira followed suit, posture straight and rather uncomfortable looking now. She felt sick. "I called you here for two reasons today, Bounty hunter. My crown has been stolen." He focused on Yenearsira for a brief minute when he spoke, and she looked away. It wasn't her this time, thankfully, so she just shrugged her shoulders and shook her head. A sigh escaped his lips. "I want you to return it to me. Your reward will be whatever you desire, within reason. Gold, rank, land, horses. But I also want you to return to me whomever did it. I don't care if they're half dead, almost dead.. but not dead. I want them alive." His voice was clear and noble, but frayed and tired. Yenearsira looked up at Galin under her lashes, and then to the King. This half elf didn't seem the type that would help noble folk.. let alone royalty. "And since you two seem to be.. Acquainted, take Lady Yenearsira with you, would you? Keep her out of trouble for a little while." A cough escaped her lips as she took a step back, rather surprised. Take her?! 0 players like this post! Like? |

A brow rose upon Galin's face, and he scoffed a little. "Shouldn't your guards keep more care of where your crown is and is not? If you don't mind me saying, but this is all to fishy for me... Why hire one such as myself when it is they who should be searching for it?" He was definitely cautious...had good reason to be. It wouldn't be the first time he'd been set up, and if he was being set up, it would not be pleasant...for anyone that was involved in this little plot. "I mean, your reward sounds quite thrilling, but how do I know this isn't some trick to just be rid of me? It wouldn't be the first time an offer to good to be true has passed me by..." And taking Yenearisa with him? Well, now he knew her name. Perhaps, in kind, he would give her his. Maybe, if she played fairly. 0 players like this post! Like? |
