I have found that Whack a Snake is unfortunately not very enjoyable even though it holds so much potential. This is due to the monotony of the game, and the underwhelming visual feedback that the player has. I propose three solutions to these problems: 1) Having bonus objects flitter across the screen at 200+ points which could grant a 50-point or 100-point boost if hit. - Makes the player more engaged - Provides an incentive to play for longer 2) The snake and monkey glow red when hit and/or your life counter glows red once you go down a life. - Player feels as if they are in control - No hesitation or surprise ("did I hit that snak-- oh wait, how am I down to three lives?") [note: the audio cues are a big help however they are sometimes not enough] - Makes hitting that darn snake more satisfying! 3) Having a pause option! Developers, if neither of the first two points interest you, I would implore you to at least consider the third. Serengenti Shuffle does not have a mysterious lack of pause button, so why should this game? It's just so easy to lose interest and give up once you reach 99 points, it's a shame to have a game with such potential become monotonous. I hope that in the future Whack a Snake will be more universally loved and enjoyable. If you have any of your own suggestions for this game then please comment below with your reasoning and I will add it this main post! Likewise, if you disagree with any of my own suggestions I will add your opinion to the main post. After all, the minigames are for everyone to enjoy and therefore everyone gets a say. Thank you for reading and please consider backing! |
