This area will be reserved solely for our personal references. There will be many members acting in the lore and it's not exactly easy to follow along lionesses whom have longer names than my first and last combined. [hint: my bad cx] So, this, my dear. Will help us both keep track of the comings and goings of our pride, and the most important figures found within each of our walls. The Terrains Pride of the Deep Glen: An incredibly mountainous terrain found just west of the Avanti Kingdom this land is covered in lush jungle with few places that actually hold flat ground. In the middle of it all is a huge fjord, something referred to as "the deep glen." This area is so dense only those who are familiar with the territory can pass. Towards the fringes, it get sparser, generally very hot and humid in the land with little change to temperature the closer it gets to the middle...however, the outer fringes are effected by weather patterns. The Kingdom of Avanti: East of the Deep Glen the change of atmosphere when crossing over is earnestly quite astounding. Trees will be the first thing noted when entering the Avanti Kingdom, the agriculture and the sudden drop of temperature and rise of humidity caused by the many limbs of water flowing through the vast terrain. Soils are often softened with the precipitation of the area but more often than not the sound of reptilian creatures catches one's thoughts long before the slight sinking of their pads. In the mid of the area running about 7 feet deep; 8 yards wide and half a mile long is what most new comers to the Kingdom enter in, the only area of the land which is actually level with the lands beyond the walls; a pit...of sorts. Many within the Kingdom refer to the small pit as the mouth of Avanti, forced to enter the land through it and only permitted to pass if the keepers allow it. In the middle of the land, just shy of 5 yards of the cavern dens is the true horror of the lands, the weeping grounds. An 8 foot diameter hole formed by weathering to be 6 feet deep, this is where the sacrifice of the impure take place. Character Sheets No thread generated. Born to the Avanti Kingdom Ragno is a kind King who takes his duties very seriously. At times seeming unapproachable do to size the male has never taken a Queen allowing the previous ruler's to remain and assist in his ruling...Now that she's past, however, a lioness has caught the male's eye making him blind to the reality of her actions.

Following the Queen Mother's death Maiatri has taken claim to the throne, the new Queen who often publicly testing the strength of her grasp on the land, A merciless female her first litter born from Ragno was murdered by their mother just three days from birth; the lioness claiming their death was due to illness though in reality it had been a sacrifice. Backed by two large lioness sisters whom share the prefix Heasi the sisters are the female's muscle doing anything the Queen cannot handle on her own without question.

Last of Teleon Nyoka and Mansa Devi's [recognized] daughters her sister Tyira has disappeared just months before her own kin's passing, Lorelei believes the new reigning Queen must be banished....though at this point in time the once flourishing princess would have no ground against the much younger lioness. Lorelei has spoken to Ragno and holds her own daughter,Sylmitore, close... as she is the last of royal blood and the female fears after her passing the young lioness will more than simply have to 'fend for herself.'

The young lioness born just months before her grandmother's passing it was a time which is not properly filed away, blurred and unclear she'd been much to young to remember the mourning. However, her aunt's disappearance was noted quite greatly. Now, not even of age of adulthood the lioness will soon lose her mother.. It has taken a heavy burden on the girl and her heart is slowly hardening.

Aristophanes the Sage | Second King
They beat their chests to the sounds of their broken hearts.

A young cub who was abandoned to the Deep Glens by an unknown mother and father, Aristophanes was accepted into the pride by Mercurius, the First King, who saw something in his curious eyes. A thoughtful soul who craved the great mysteries of the place he called home, he spent his youth as a scholar. But when Mercurius disappeared into the night without so much as a whisper, Aristophanes was the only one left to take the crown. It's yet to be determined how he will rule, but he currently leans heavily on the old lioness and Mercurius' confident, Moana, for advice.

The Grand Seers

The Grand Seers, lionesses prized by the First King, are those who have the ability to part the veils of reality and peer into the future and the past, as well as influence the Deep Glens through whispers. They are held in high regard and revered, spared from hunting and most laborious work and guarded by any subordinate males. They can be told apart from the rest at a glance by their jet eyes. Despite the First King's disappearance, their position still stands.

Jupiter | The Stranger | Parter of the Veil
Hush, hush, lamb. They will find you if you peep.

The first of the Grand Seers who proved her powers in front of the First King by predicting the arrival of Aristophanes. Jupiter was an outcast of her old pride, considered a witch and heretic and chased off to fend for herself. She came across the Deep Glens through a vision, forsaking food and water to find her way there, knowing she would be safe. She refuses to speak of Aristophanes' future as king and was aghast that she hadn't predicted Mercurius' leaving. After finding him gone, she banished herself to a cave in sorrow and refuses to come out, only speaking to others through riddles whispers.

Mars | The Outlier | Mother of the Threshold
You shall be made immortal, if you endure.

Mars was, too, an outcast of her pride and chased off as soon as she was able to fend for herself. She wandered the lands alone for many years, finding no pride that wanted to take her. In her anger, she summoned a great storm that, according to her, lead her to the Deep Glens. She was at first wary of the pride that made their home here, sure that they would chase her away just as the rest had. But Jupiter reassured her that they were of the few that would accept them, and so she stayed. Mars has high hopes for her daughter, Saturn.

Saturn | The Visitor | Abyss Gazer
Mind my wicked words and tipsy topsy smirk.

Daughter of Mars and an unknown lion, she was born shortly after her mother arrived at the Deep Glens and inherited her powers. She was expected to be the first seer who would not be banished from her original pride. She holds a deep love of Aristophanes for his kindness and his scholarly pursuits. However, she is growing increasingly wary of Kriemhild, as her visions have shown her nothing but cruelty from the red lioness. As of current, she's inexperienced and unsure if she is correct.

The Holy Trinity

A group of tigresses whose forefathers had lived in the Deep Glens since its formation, they are intrigued but cautious of the pride of lions that have made made their home on their ancestral lands. Though they had come to a sort of mutual respect with the First King, they remained independent of the pride and extremely wary of the lionesses. However, now that the First King is gone, things are uneasy once more.

Shiva | Destruction Tigress | Huntress of the Holy Trinity
When she dances, the world will come to an end.

The first to have made contact with Mercurius when he came upon the land, she found his worldly stories fascinating and allowed the lion to stay. She had never left the deep jungles her and many generations before her had called home. Shiva is a deeply temperamental tigress and, though she has always tolerated the kings at best, she will handily chase any lionesses and subordinate males away. More than once had she threatened Aristophanes when he was a cub, and she was responsible for the scars on his face. Now that he is king, she must try to at least be civil towards him despite their history.

Vishnu | Protection Tigress | Huntress of the Holy Trinity
Fear no fire, fear no flood.

A fearless tigress with an extremely mothering personality, she often disagrees with how Shiva treats the lionesses and subordinate males. But just because she disagrees, doesn't mean she likes them very much either. She makes contact with the pride most often out of the Holy Trinity, especially since Aristophanes came into power. Whether she is enamored with the new king or trying to gain the upper hand with the pride is up for debate. Vishnu likes to make conversation with the Grand Seers, especially Saturn.

Brahma | Creation Tigress | Huntress of the Holy Trinity
She plucked the first life from her holy fur.

The quietest of the Holy Trinity, she was once actually very kind towards them until Proserpine killed her cubs by the First King out of jealousy. After the incident, she vowed to kill any lion cubs she found on her ancestral lands and stalks the night in search for them. The pride knows to be wary of her, though Aristophanes is making an attempt to calm her rage.

Others

Moana | The Pale | Adviser / Confident to the King
She came in like a ghost, pale as a sun bleached bone, chasing shadows. She never left.

Adviser and confident to the First King, Moana was a stunning lioness in her youth, growing wise in her years. Mercurius trusted her advice above all else and often told her the secrets of the Deep Glen, including its true name, something he never dared speak to anybody else. The First King never told her that he would leave and, though somewhat heartbroken, she understands his heart and why he had left her behind. Aristophanes still needs help, and she acts in part to bestow wisdom upon him before she passes.

Prosperpine | The Bewitching | Huntress
She may have the pick of whoever she pleases.

Kriemhild | The Crimson | Huntress / Rejected Princess
She will shed blood, and she will be royal once again.

Once the revered princess of a distant pride, she proved too cruel and cold and scorned even the king. Having put up with her for long enough, she was sent away and told never to return. She wandered the land, terrorizing humans and killing their livestock until she was at last overcome and chased off by a pack of well trained dogs. She found herself in the Deep Glens, where she was allowed into the pride. Kriemhild is still furious over her past rejection, and she hopes to give birth to a king so she may regain her status. She isn't above fighting for the position herself.
