So I've been itching to do a roleplay that has an apocalypse setting, but instead of watching the humans live in it what about the dogs? An apocalypse dog roleplay. Sadly I haven't seen this around recently that is active. To solve this itch I've come up with a semi-decent plot. There's a problem. I'm uncertain that anyone would be interested in this type of topic, so I'm curious if this would be popular for others. The plot --- They're all gone. Vanished, only leaving behind their living corpse. It finally happened. Humanity failed, the last humans turned. That doesn't mean the others would fail. Others? The only beast left behind all this mess that has the slightest chance of survival. The dogs. Vicious snarls could be heard echo off the once peaceful streets, fighting the dead back. As generations pass, the canines developed a type of immunity to the virus. They are able to fight back without worry, even to the point that a select few could consume the flesh of the dead, but only a few. To bad humanity didn't think of using them then perhaps they would have been saved by man's best friend? The dogs have gotten smarter as time passes. Those who survived banded together in a close kite gang. They even had the fortune to stumble upon the perfect camp. The junkyard just outside of the city. For some unknown reason, the humans surrounded the junkyard with high walls made of tin before they fallen. Whatever the reason, the dogs were grateful. For a few years, they made it into their home, sleeping in run down cars or some made a nest made up of cotton and fabric. They even made a ranking system after a small dispute. Soon, everyone fell into the rhythm of things, pulling their own weight for the great of the group. Dogs were assigned jobs, Hunting, defending, offense, scouts, and even a doctor. It worked. The walls held the dead at bay, only leaving the sanctuary when needed. Sadly, it wasn't always safe. Some dogs caught the sickness. Then went rabid, causing damage among the ranks. Eventually, they were killed off. The group picked up some traditions, for safety or to simply have something worth fighting for. So many dogs died during that time period to build a home for the future. Will the future make it? This story is where our story begins. It's been twelve years since the discovery of the junkyard. All is well, or so they thought. Unfortunately for them, theirs a traitor in their ranks. The traitor, who's highly respected among the dogs, only wish for their doom. For whatever reason, they plot against the overseer with a few henchmen aid, they lead unsuspecting dogs from the safety of the walls murdering them. If that's not enough, something's wrong with the barrier. After all these years, the walls finally creak under the weight of the dead. What will they do? Will they find the murderer? Or will they follow their humans to their downfall? This is just a rough draft of the idea, so yes it needs a bit of improvement. I figured it's a start, and I have yet to type of the traditions/Ceremonies such as the funerals, coming of age, and even the ceremony of two joining as one. I might need some help if anyone has any ideas for this type of plot. Would ya'll be interested? Yay or Nay? ![]() |
