I remember that no long ago a player asked in chat what were the effects of lionesses' personalities, besides the nurturing one, and that a staff member replied that none, for the moment, but that it was already planned to change. I've searched and found no other suggestion that focused solely on this, so here we go: Female's Personalities Overhaul!Right now, we have about 50 different personalities for females, 10 per karma group, and only one of those - Nurturing - has a notable effect within our prides beyond the mood boost and penalties that all karma groups share. This is a lot of effects to make, so I thought that we could begin suggesting 9 to complement the "taking care of an extra cub as a broodmother" one, and see where they fit within all the karma groups as a personality. Or that could stay exclusive to the good girls, like some male personalities? Or maybe add a counterpart to the evil side? Perhaps we could have some lionesses have a chance of bringing something "extra" from their hunts, like the Stingy or the Gracious ones? Have some that help with the general mood of the pride, like the Joyful, Upbeat or Humorous personalities? Maybe some that can boost our PvP or PvE chances, like the Loud and Brutal ones? What would you want your ladies to be able to do? Possible Personalities' effects:Interaction Effects
The Feed all, Play all feature would have 0% chance of any of the interaction effects taking place: this is not a penalty, but a warning. For the interactions' effects to take place, you have to actually interact with the lionesses. Special Effects
*Those two are counterparts, and the idea is for only one of those effects to be possible, but the hunt cost is a must; which effect do you prefer? Karma? Mood for the lioness? Stat gain? Other? Given that these effects could be taken advantage of with larger prides, a good way to prevent a possible abuse would be establishing a system similar to the stud slots: every week an account has a given amount of effect slots, and every time one of these is purposely used it'd take a slot away, until there are no more left or the counter refills the following week. Automatic Effects
Edit: I erased the whole personalities lists, for convenience purposes, given that the post was getting very long. I'll repost them once each one has been given a possible effect, preferably on a fancy table. |

@Katavi I added a new section to the post for the possible effects, I thought it would be easier to read that way - I may have skipped a few, but I'll revise it tomorrow, it's quite late for me right now. I'll address your reply with the personalities one by one, now that's a bit smaller:
I think I got everything. I'll update again tomorrow, I'll see if something occurs to me regarding the send to Reserve/Chase/Kill thing. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Instead of having a unique button, that's why I said "10% chance upon daily interaction". Basically, once a day, you can Play/Groom/Tussle with a lioness/sub/cub/etc. That's your "daily interaction". So basically you hit that and you have a 10% chance of triggering their "personality perk", such as an interaction getting a carcass from them or boosting your energy, etc. etc. 0 players like this post! @Katavi That could work too, it'd be easier for sure than coding a brand new interaction "button". I'll update the heading in a bit, I hope I don't forget to add anything! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Some of these are quite overpowered, but as of right now lioness personalities are mostly useless, so I definitely support the concept. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Fart Which ones do you think are overpowered, and what would you tweak to make them more LD-friendly? 0 players like this post! Like? |

The stat and impression gain ones stuck out to me. But I'd be okay with them if they were mostly associated with rarer or event personalities. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Fart If I'm honest with you, I'm not seeing how that particular effect is overpowered. The impression gain is supposed to have an extremely rare chance of happening - like 1-5% - when you interact with the lioness, just like every other of the interaction effects; in explore you have encounters that raise from 1% to 10% of impression, and they're fairly common to come across - In my experience, I cannot go exploring with a full energy bar and not encounter at least two times the running warthog. 0 players like this post! It all adds up, especially for those with large prides. Personalities don't have to have an effect on stats or impression to be more useful. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Very much support. These are small enough effects that it would be fun or helpful without giving major advantages. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Fart I guess those with larger prides would have more chances of getting the impression boost effect but, then again, they have a harder time keeping such a large pride, as they need more food and toys, and most of them resort to the "play all, feed all", which wouldn't benefit from the interaction effects at all, so why should we limit this possible feature because someone has a larger pride? Every pride size has its benefits and drawbacks, and we're free to keep our prides as we like without interfering in other players'. I guess people with lots of territory space could claim lots of NCLs to benefit for a couple of Rollovers without spending anything to maintain those lionesses, but I don't know how whorthwile that would be. @Pairo Thank you! 0 players like this post! This is the best idea! Personalities definitely need some updating; only Nurturing lionesses make a difference in our prides and having each one serving a perpose would make interaction and a varied pride that much more engaging! Support! 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Xaldin II Thank you, but I cannot take the credit for it, as it was supposed to be in-progress somewhere over the rainbow xD Here we're only suggesting what the possible effects could be. Do you find them game-friendly? Is there anything you would add? 0 players like this post! Like? |

I'm clicking no support because I really don't like any of the suggestions in the main post. I'm also against the fact that you're suggesting penalizing people who use Play All, a feature they paid RL money for. The game depends on people buying GB to stay up and running, penalizing paid features is not the way to keep it going. I hope the staff can come up with something better. 0 players like this post! It's not meant to be penalizing. The people with Feed All, Play All buttons can still have the option if they do it by hand. It's supposed to be a reward for taking the time to do it. The same Baoball gives stats for taking the time to play the game when you don't have to. If it's able to be used by people by pushing a single button, it would basically encourage people to have huge prides to get bonuses with no effort. Play All, Feed All is already "penalized". When you use the button, you can't get skill up for cubs or bonuses from food like you can if you do it by hand. 0 players like this post! Like? |

That's hardly a penalty at all. Skill is non-heritable and easily gained. I played for six months without feed all/play all and got maybe one stat on one lioness from carcasses. It doesn't change the fact that I don't really like your suggestions either. I hope the staff comes up with other things that are passive and non-intrusive, like nurturing. Whether or not you have a nurturing lioness in your pride has virtually no impact on the game. 0 players like this post! Like? |
