Warning: Some of the images linked in this post may be upsetting Spina Bifida: NHS Choices | Spina Bifida: Wikipedia (warning for medical images) What is Spina Bifida? - Spina bifida is a birth defect where there is incomplete closing of the backbone and membranes around the spinal cord. There are three main types: spina bifida occulta, meningocele, and myelomeningocele. Medical Diagram showing the three types of Spina Bifida For lions, Spina Bifida would be a lethal mutation. I know people born with this can survive, but that is only with round the clock care and surgery. These are lions - unfortunately, nothing would help them. Spina Bifida cubs would die after their first rollover, like Cyclopia, due to the open wound on the spine. Appears: At birth Affects Gameplay?: Yes, cub dies at 1 month Lethal?: Yes TL;DR. Spina Bifida, lethal mutation. Cub dies at 1 month old. Cub would be shown lying with it's back facing towards you, the user, with the hole in the spine visible. Would be very rare. Note: Spina Bifida also comes hand in hand with hydrocephalus, but this would be treated as separate from hydrocephalus if both were implemented. MUTATION SUGGESTIONS: |

I actually was almost born with this, I still have the dip in my back where it had just recently closed before I was born. I am very thankful it closed up just in time. It still is super sensitive to touch, since the skin is very thin in that area. Anywho, I support. :o 2 players like this post! Like? |

This is a nice suggestion, so support nonetheless. However, it would be cool if the cub could crane its (sad) face towards the user, as well as the back. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I have actually already suggested this before ages ago because I was born with it. So I support =3 EDIT: Found my thread about it. Widely supported, but apparently rejected for now unfortunately. http://www.lioden.com/topic.php?id=278135070000 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 19/02/17 @ 03:28:42 by Minimanta (#1684) |

No support. Lost my nephew to this. I would likely quit playing Lioden if this was implemented. I spent a lot of money on this game and I'm not going to spend money on something like this. 0 players like this post! Like? |

support! (all the mutations on lioden actually exist in humans ....excluding obvious stuff like overgrown claws...because obviously humans don't have claws or fur!. Baby's can be born with one eye or conjoined limbs and usually die from it, but that wont stop me from playing lioden. even if a relative has passed from a disease/deformity portrayed on this game. life can be cruel. ) 0 players like this post! I support because it raises awareness about this. No offense Cathy, I understand but supporting this and having it implemented could mean more people will be aware about it. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Cathy Just because it affected you personally, doesn't mean it's objectively bad. @Pattana Why not? 0 players like this post! Like? |
