Hey!
Is there any specific way on how you should set up an art shop? I really want to set one up but I am really unsure about how to do it. Like the build of the post, the different categories or even pricing. Is there anyone that could help me a bit or give me some general advice?
Thank you so much!

Here's what I can gather from other shops I've seen:

Title
Examples
Rules
What type of commissions you'll do
Prices
Amount of slots

There's an HTML guide if you need it! :)

As an artist, I'd be happy to help you set up your art shop!

Here is my art shop.

As you can see, there are a few things that artists should always offer in their art thread - at least in my opinion, let me list what you should include and what that should cover and then break it down into optional additions.

Examples & Prices
In your first section, its a good idea to have some art on display at the top to draw the eye of those that might just be looking in at a glace, it gives them an idea as to whether or not to commission you from the word go. I would then list more examples of commissions that you will be offering at a style you're consistent with - don't show off your best work if you cannot guarantee that that'll be the same quality in every piece, try and find a few average pieces that are consistent with what you can offer to those at commission you. You'll be less likely to get complaints for 'false advertising' when your art isn't as good as your best example. I know that it's easy to burn out and grow to dislike art if people are nitpicking and expecting your best all the time, and that's not healthy as an artist. It's a good idea to also list your price range per piece, and extra charges such as a second character or a background.

Terms of Service
This may not be something everyone uses, but I highly recommend it - it's basically creating a guide for yourself and your commissioners that outlines the basics of what both parties must do, for example in mine I mention that my commissioners can contact me at any time, must pay half the price before the art begins - to decrease the risk of scamming - and I give a rough guideline for art completion. Something also in my Terms of Service is a mention of reserving the right to cancel and refund a commission at any time should there be reason for it - something I have had to use recently due to having a bad shoulder, and with that in place commissioners cannot argue really, which saves a lot of headache in the long run.

Rules for Art
This is where you outline everything you will and will not do, I won't draw My Little Pony styled horses, or NSFW or gore in any shape/form. Everyone is different however, just remember you cannot advertise/offer NSFW publically - as it is not suitable for audience members under the age of 18 and breaks the law as I'm sure there are a few players here that are underage from about 14+ and you shouldn't risk them seeing it.

Order Form
Here is where you should ask for as much detail as possible - references, poses, what commission they want, payment method (for example, GB or PayPal) as well as a detailed description of what they want, unless they give you artists freedom I find that this saves a lot of corrections and changing the art again and again until they are satisfied because at the end of the day, you want your customers to be satisfied - so they may be so inclined to recommission you in the future. It's better to just get it right in the first instance.

Slot List
This is where you can record paid commissions in the order in which they'll be completed, it can act as a task list - and confirmation to your customer that their commission has been accepted and is being worked on. You can also list a waiting list here, and completed, satisfied commissions to show that you actually do work on your commissions and that you have completed them to a good standard, to further reassure your customers. I personally like to record the name and ID of the players - as well as their commission type to prompt me when it comes to starting the work.

That's all for now, but should you have any questions or want help setting up, please let me know - my inbox is always open!
