According to the Wiki, "Rosettes seem to be the most popular marking on Lioden currently, due to the mysterious nature of how they're passed on, and the fact that they can randomly pop up in any breeding. There are tons of user theories and conspiracies floating around regarding how Rosette works, but nobody truly knows—the code has yet to be cracked." I have had only one rosette and it doesnt support the feline theory. Are we maybe looking too much into the lions themselves? Do items have any impact? Is there some kind of real-life thing we're missing? From what I've been able to read, it seems like most instances of lions retaining their rosettes might be from some form of interbreeding, eg a jaglion, but we know that isn't the case for Lioden aside from mottled rosettes. This was a really interesting read on the idea of spotted lions: http://messybeast.com/genetics/lions-spotted.htm however it doesn't cover any real genetic reasoning, rather just presents the idea as cryptids. It mentions something called a Marozi, a type of spotted lion which has not been able to have its existence confirmed entirely despite pelts existing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marozi.
