According to the Wiki, "Rosettes seem to be the most popular marking on Lioden currently, due to the mysterious nature of how they're passed on, and the fact that they can randomly pop up in any breeding. There are tons of user theories and conspiracies floating around regarding how Rosette works, but nobody truly knowsβthe code has yet to be cracked." This could be taken to imply that they are truly random ("the fact that they can randomly pop up in any breeding"), but it can also imply that there is, in fact, a code ("the code has yet to be cracked"). ----- Exhibit A: Cream Rosette Mother was chased, but had the following: Base: Cream (White Nose) Mane Type: Normal Mane Color: Brown Eye Color: Grey Slot 1: Onyx Ripple Slot 2: Chocolate Top Slot 6: Feline 7 Black Dad had the following: Base: Silver Grey (White Nose) Mane Type: Sideburn Mane Color: Lilac Eye Color: Lavender Slot 1: Feline 1 Dark Brown Slot 2: White Tips Slot 3: Feline 2 Onyx Slot 4: Feline 6 Onyx Slot 5: Feline 4 Onyx Slot 6: Feline 1 Onyx Slot 8: White Undercoat Slot 9: Feline 3 Onyx Slot 10: Onyx Lace ----- Exhibit B: Gold Rosette Mom had the following: Base: Dark Vanilla (Fallow Nose) Mane Type: Diabolic Mane Color: Lilac Eye Color: Pink Slot 1: Brown Mask Slot 4: Feline 6 Dark Brown Slot 5: Feline 4 Onyx Dad had the following: Base: Blush Rose (White Nose) Mane Type: Diabolic Mane Color: Manakbir Eye Color: Peach Slot 1: Feline 7 Ginger Slot 2: Feline 1 Black Slot 3: Rose Pelage Slot 4: Maroon Pelage Slot 5: Onyx Lace Slot 6: Feline 4 Silver Slot 7: Feline 2 Ginger Slot 8: White Panther Slot 9: Under White 4 Slot 10: Feline 3 Onyx ----- Exhibit C: Brown Rosette Mom had the following: Base: Dun (White Nose) Mane Type: Tsavo Mane Color: Maroon Eye Color: White Slot 1: White Cobweb Slot 6: Vitiligo 3 Slot 7: Vitiligo 2 Slot 9: Vitiligo 4 Dad had the Following: Base: Onyx (Brown Nose) Mane Type: Savage Mane Color: Unholy Eye Color: Saffron Slot 4: Feline 6 Onyx Slot 5: Feline 2 Onyx Slot 6: Feline 1 Onyx Slot 7: Feline 7 Onyx Slot 8: Feline 5 Onyx Slot 9: Feline 3 Onyx Slot 10: Feline 4 Onyx Do you see a pattern? so, we do know now that SOME rosettes ARE completely spontaneous, and CAN appear at any time (This is presumably the more common ones, like Onyx Soft and Ebony Heavy) Some of them seemingly only appear in slots where a lion has a similar marking, like Lace, Margay, Panther, Maofelis Some of them seem to only be able to appear if a marking with "Feline" in the name is present (Maybe this goes along with the Lace/Margay etc thing) 0 players like this post! If I recall correctly, the news posts about soft, heavy, and shaded said they all had 'requirements.' (I COULD be wrong since it's been years since I looked. XD I've been here for 'em all) I think normal rosette may have none per se since the leopard tail post says there's a 5% for ANY breeding to pop a rosette. Or maybe it could be referring to inverted? Regardless! Regardless! Some data! I've always been suspicious of that myself! I noticed I got shaded rosettes more frequently when I started RMAing on cat-like markings. Of course it could be coincidence and it be another factor, but... He has a ginger mark feline mark and the siamese mark in that same slot, so it's all boiling down to definitely wondering about the cat-like marks. 0 players like this post! Like? |

honestly i'm glad they didn't reveal everything, it's fun trying to figure it out i do wish they'd reveal the rosette passrate though for existing rosettes on lions 1 player likes this post! Like? |

I'll admit, I agree! I've been here since the "start" of rosettes and I really enjoy the mystery. And now we have an item that can hopefully start guiding us in the right direction. I've always felt like it was a community effort and it would be FABULOUS to figure out as a community! 0 players like this post! Like? |

INSANE UPDATE GUYS I ran 900 scry with a single feline marking between the parents to see if the chance increased in any way. The feline mark is on the father, since some trends are showing that the father has more influence. Mother has no marks. dad: 417126 / feline 3 gold - tier 2 slot 2 mom: 794175074855 scrys: 900 RRs: 8 RR 1: slot 9 dark brown heavy rosette rolled 10:38 am lioden time RR 2: slot 14 onyx rosette rolled at 10:42 am lioden time RR 3: slot 1 Doubloom heavy rosette rolled at 11:01 am lioden time RR 4: slot 1 inverted heavy rosette silky rolled at 11:04 am lioden time RR 5: slot 8 inverted soft rosette silky rolled at 11:05 am lioden time RR 6: slot 5 red heavy rosette rolled at 11:07 am lioden time RR 7: slot 8 inverted soft rosette white rolled at 11:39 am lioden time RR 8: slot 6 ginger heavy rosette rolled at 11:43 am lioden time summary: if your king has a tier 2 feline marking, your chance of getting a random rosette is nearly tripled to a 0.9% chance. If your king has no feline marking, you have a 0.3% chance. utilizing the previous scry session, HEAVY ROSETTE and HEAVY INVERTED are linked to feline markings ROSETTE and INVERTED SOFT are likely to be more random further testing is needed to confirm whether the heavy is linked to feline markings or cat-like markings in general. I will be testing lace next, since i believe its tied to shaded based on the thread ****Edit: several heavy rosette cubs have been born to applicator feline marks. so its tied to the shape not the tier. 0 players like this post! Maybe some rosettes appear during the gameβs daytime and some at night? Similar to some combo bases. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I've taken my mass testing to this thread as to not clog up this one > https://www.lioden.com/topic.php?id=304429538101 Out of the many RRs i've artificially produced, most of them do actually happen at night. Not sure if its coincidence or correlation. But feel free to take a took at the thread cause I tested many of the theories on this one 0 players like this post! Like? |
