According to the Wiki, "Rosettes seem to be the most popular marking on Lioden currently, due to the mysterious nature of how they're passed on, and the fact that they can randomly pop up in any breeding. There are tons of user theories and conspiracies floating around regarding how Rosette works, but nobody truly knowsβthe code has yet to be cracked." This could be taken to imply that they are truly random ("the fact that they can randomly pop up in any breeding"), but it can also imply that there is, in fact, a code ("the code has yet to be cracked"). ----- Exhibit A: Cream Rosette Mother was chased, but had the following: Base: Cream (White Nose) Mane Type: Normal Mane Color: Brown Eye Color: Grey Slot 1: Onyx Ripple Slot 2: Chocolate Top Slot 6: Feline 7 Black Dad had the following: Base: Silver Grey (White Nose) Mane Type: Sideburn Mane Color: Lilac Eye Color: Lavender Slot 1: Feline 1 Dark Brown Slot 2: White Tips Slot 3: Feline 2 Onyx Slot 4: Feline 6 Onyx Slot 5: Feline 4 Onyx Slot 6: Feline 1 Onyx Slot 8: White Undercoat Slot 9: Feline 3 Onyx Slot 10: Onyx Lace ----- Exhibit B: Gold Rosette Mom had the following: Base: Dark Vanilla (Fallow Nose) Mane Type: Diabolic Mane Color: Lilac Eye Color: Pink Slot 1: Brown Mask Slot 4: Feline 6 Dark Brown Slot 5: Feline 4 Onyx Dad had the following: Base: Blush Rose (White Nose) Mane Type: Diabolic Mane Color: Manakbir Eye Color: Peach Slot 1: Feline 7 Ginger Slot 2: Feline 1 Black Slot 3: Rose Pelage Slot 4: Maroon Pelage Slot 5: Onyx Lace Slot 6: Feline 4 Silver Slot 7: Feline 2 Ginger Slot 8: White Panther Slot 9: Under White 4 Slot 10: Feline 3 Onyx ----- Exhibit C: Brown Rosette Mom had the following: Base: Dun (White Nose) Mane Type: Tsavo Mane Color: Maroon Eye Color: White Slot 1: White Cobweb Slot 6: Vitiligo 3 Slot 7: Vitiligo 2 Slot 9: Vitiligo 4 Dad had the Following: Base: Onyx (Brown Nose) Mane Type: Savage Mane Color: Unholy Eye Color: Saffron Slot 4: Feline 6 Onyx Slot 5: Feline 2 Onyx Slot 6: Feline 1 Onyx Slot 7: Feline 7 Onyx Slot 8: Feline 5 Onyx Slot 9: Feline 3 Onyx Slot 10: Feline 4 Onyx Do you see a pattern? @Chaparrita I believe regular and heavy rosettes have different conditions, if any 0 players like this post! Like? |

I remember info circulating long ago that laces and panther markings can be factors for a random rosette. But again its all just theory. Wonder how they are going to go about detailing the leopard tail without fully hinting the secret? who knowss 0 players like this post! Like? |

I breed multi panther lions and my guy (who has no feline marks) threw a random ginger rosette. I remember him throwing other random rosettes in the past but I will have to dig further. Random Ginger Rosetter 2 players like this post! Like? |

Hm. I think we're on the right track with cat/felidae markings aiding rosettes, but there has to be some correlation with the coloring. @nebula what slot was the BHR in, and did a parent have a marking in that slot? Of yes, what marking? I wonder if random rosettes snatch not only slots, but colors aswell. I can see briar being derived from dawn, lilac, and scoundrel 0 players like this post! Like? |

Hm. Maybe slot doesn't have as much as a factor on heavy rosettes? It def affects shaded and inverted though 0 players like this post! Like? |

A kind chatter let me use their cub as data, so here we go! Auburn heavy ros in slot 1, random. https://www.lioden.com/lion.php?id=794214897722 In slot 1, father had chocolate cowl and mother had gregarious brindle. Father's base is heavenly, mother's is chocolate. Both parents already had a rosette, but not AHR S1. Sure has BHR S7, mom has GISHR S8. Mom has a feline mark, dad has a margay. I'm not sure what to draw from this cub's markings/slots/etc, as nothing particularly fits with our theories. I do think heavy rosettes have separate conditions then shaded and inverted, however, as that is becoming increasingly more common as I've been looking at random heavy rosette cubs. I wonder is having rosettes increases the chance of a random rosette spawning (Srry for being all over the place btw, I'm in the middle of class) 0 players like this post! Like? |

It was my lioness that had the bushveld Rosette from a Bushveld base dad. I will breeding her back to that king to see if it repeat but can't be sure. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Lucas I took a look at your list and all the cubs do actually add up All the heavy rosettes had a feline parent, all the shaded rosettes have a mane marking parent(usually mom), and all softs have an 'unders' parent And inverted rosettes don't follow a normal pattern so those don't really affect anything at the moment 0 players like this post!
