Dante stared out from the billowing curtains of her doom room, the new arrivals in the courtyard below drawing a frown between her elegant eyebrows, her displeasure apparent. Great, she thought, gritting her teeth at the prospect of new classmates. She herself had been here for two years prior, and had seen enough new kids to dread to stumbling confusion their first few weeks would certainly be. She pushed a stray lock of hair back behind her ear, the onyx waves cascading down to gently brush against her slender collarbone as she shifted uneasily, eyeing some of the new students. She could feel her Power; rippling, and coiling inside her, and it didn't welcome the newcomers either. She could sense the Power of the others- even from this distance, it radiated with undisciplined energy. Hers was strictly trained, making her seem like an ordinary human being until she wanted to reveal herself. She didn't want these people here- she wanted to be alone, and left to her own devices.

Next to her, a plaintive whine caused her to turn her head as a big, furry mass nuzzled her slim fingers, dark golden eyes sensing her inner turmoil as they so often did. Nyx was a giant animal- coming up past her waist, and covered with thick, dark fur much like her own hair, Dante assumed with perfect accuracy the terror and anxiety the Dire wolf's beastly frame would elicit, much like he had the past two cohorts of classmates. Dante found herself smiling wickedly, while her fingers played in the canines soft fur.
This might be fun after all

Kamilah Tarik . Female . Granite School front steps
Kamilah took her first steps off the bus. Following closely behind her was her familiar. A giant male lion stepped off the busy. It still made her laugh that some saw Atum as a tabby cat. He was a far more impressive beast. She picked up her large duffle from the pile of bags thrown together. Her back pack was already slung over her shoulder. Another glance around provided the fact that she knew no one. She was an orphan with a mysterious benefactor. Other than receiving an address to show up at to get picked up, she had no clue about this school. Her fingers ran through the lions thick mane.

"Um, sir, do you know my room number? My name is Kamilah Tarik." She stepped up to the nearest authority figure, or at least she hoped so. Part of her wanted to run, she was eighteen, she didn't need to go to school here. Yet here she was standing in front of an imposing building with a lion disguised as a tabby. Her powers itched her finger tips, it knew there were others like her here. Now all she had to do was find them.
