LOW TIER
Wild Wild colors are named after their duller colors and strong resemblance to their less fanciful ancestors. They generally come in shades of brown and red, but can be blue or green as well. Their bodies are usually darker than their fins and many have some blue or green iridescence. They are much duller than nearly all of the other bettas and considered unattractive. They have dominant genes that tend to overpower other colors.
Multi-Color While not exactly ugly, per say, they are considered very impure due to the chaotic nature of their fins and scales. Multicolors come in every color and pattern, but contain more than two and their patterns are broken or not a pattern at all, but a mashup of clashing colors. They have been nicknamed mutts as they are usually the bastard offspring of higher ranks.
Solid They are as their name suggests, solidly one color. There is no difference between their body and fins, making them less interesting in most cases. They have been known to be very vibrant, but mostly come in red or blue, common colors. This trait is prone to incomplete dominance and they are capable of achieving higher ranks than the wilds or multicolors.
Bi-Color Bettas composed of two distinct colors, usually one on their body and a different one for their fins. They can be any combination of colors, but some of the more notable ones are mustard gas; green or blue base with yellow fins and chocolate; black or brown body with yellow or orange fins. A common pattern that may raise them higher than their fellow bi-colors are those with butterfly, where the body's color is present in the fins, but separated from the body and not touching the end of the fins due to their primary color. However this is still rather common and the only bi-color that can actually gain some recognition are marbled; light body with vibrant fins and patches of color on their body.
Pastels/Impure Pastels and impures are the result of an opaque's affair with a rank outside of their own. The pastels are a white masking gene that makes their natural color lighter while impures are white, but have broken patches revealing a different color. While normally they simply fall into the low tier, they are occasionally claimed by their opaque parent and live as nobility, although it's unlikely they'll ever earn a place on the council.
