Falling Stars!

July has started, and as it's commonly known, the greatest meteor showers will begin this month, especially over the southern hemisphere, thus Africa gets bombarded by millions of tiny meteorites! (The Earth is hit with roughly 40 000 tonnes of space debris, bits leftover from the Solar System formation EACH YEAR. Crazy huh?)
Your lions noticed that the lights also appeared in forests as fireflies! Is this all connected? What's the mystery behind that?!

Clouded Forest & Fireflies
A beautiful clouded forest will open its thicket to you if you pay your toll to an eagle guard. Once per 30 minutes you can hunt for fireflies and work towards unlocking the amazing firefly shop! Make sure to sit down and enjoy the dancing fireflies before you catch them! :D
2017: New items will appear in ALL tiers of the shop!

Celestial Lion & Meteorite Shards
This month as well, a mysterious self-proclaimed god Apedemak appears on Lioden's lands and asks you to gather Shards in explore.
The more shards you collect, the more amazing stuff you can unlock from his far away lands. Shards aren't currency, at least not the typical kind. They are useful for Tier 1 Zimbabwe explore!

CRAFTING AND GEMS
On the EVENT PAGE, crafting will be available right away - and since the Jasper and Moonstone will be more abundant this month than any other gem, we decided to add more fun stuff to craft for people who aren't interested in the new base or eyes:

Apedemak's tiers!

T1: Zimbabwe Explore
You spend shards here! 1 shard = 1 minute of exploring.
This will send your lion scavenging for treasures, depending on the time you spend, the results will actually vary! 10 minutes spent will differ from 54 minutes and that will be less exciting than 140 minutes! Obviously though, you will find unique items depending on your time spent so have fun discovering!
2017: Abundance of birds!
Gonarezhou will be a new area available in Zimbabwe explore. New, exciting items are: Grey Go-Away-Bird decor, Serval Skin, Cheetah Skin, Bushbuck Horns, Medlar Fruit, Scimitarbill Feathers and Common Scimitarbill decor!
Medlar fruit is a unique item that will boost your cub's training by 5%! Useful for those growing up cubs that you didn't manage to train as much as you wanted before it's time to grow up!
- It does not give hidden stats, it just boosts the bar by 5%
- Can be given to adols
- Designed with a thought in mind to help with missing last few % before growing up but you can feed 20 of them to 1 cub for all I care ;'D

T2: Celestial Raffle
Just like last year, every 12 hours a new lioness will appear with a base, markings and eyes that are unique to this month!
2017: Sunset + Dawn
This year there will be a 50/50 rotation of Type 1 and Type 2 Celestial lionesses. There is no set order - it is random which type will be generated.
Type 1 is a Sunset based lioness with Dawn eyes + 1 celestial/sidereal/skyward marking.
Type 2 is a lioness with Celestial, Sidereal or Skyward base with Sunglow or Starshine eyes.
We hope this will make everyone excited for new base as well as everyone who wanted to hunt down the rare bases can have a chance at them again!
Yay, both Sunset base and Dawn eyes are user suggestions :D

T3: Murder Stone er, Celestial Stone
When you sacrifice a lion that is not pregnant, not brooding, not nursing, not in trade or cooldown, not frozen, not secured, not hunting, not patrolling, not raffled, you will receive a wonderful reward for brutally killing sending the lion to Apedemak's world. Rewards vary, and remember - we cannot bring back a lion you sacrificed by accident. There's a lot of confirmations, though. Better name those lions KILL ME or MURDER STONE or something like that just to be sure.

*Cubs cannot be sacrificed. Even if cubs were chased, the mom is still considered nursing until 16 days of cooldown pass
*Stone does not affect karma

Near the end of the month, the Frivolous Apedemak Decor will appear in Oasis as usual!

2017 Storyline

2017: Civil War begins...

Just as promised, weeks of preparation and hardcore coding have blossomed into a giant storyline. It is separated into 6 novels with 3 alignments and... 5 endings. Let me assure you, there's only 1 ending per account, so the rewards at the end will stay rare. You guys voted for this >:D Choose wisely!

Daily Quests
* After Novel 1 introduces you to the storyline you will be taken to a default NPC setup. You will face 3 NPC's you can do quests with, however you can only take 1 quest at once, and when you're done, there's 12 hours of cooldown.
* Cooldown is only started once you finish a quest.
* During your questing progress, other NPC's will become "locked" - and will unlock after the cooldown passes.
* Daily quests are randomized from 5 possible options and will always reward same rewards, but the event currency will be randomized to a degree.
* Every NPC will have different quests and different roleplay quote blurbs (for example, Menhit will ask you to gain karma, while Apedemak would prefer if you killed lions in your pride).
* Every completed quest will also grant you 2 reputation with chosen NPC.
* Once you reach 40 reputation with that NPC, others will become locked.
* Reputation does not matter other than for locking other NPCs.
* Ending of the storyline will affect the daily quests.
* (Apollyon is not introduced on Novel1. He appears after Novel 2)

The Novels

Kind of like in May, July will have Novels with decisions. Because I kind of... wrote too much of content and had to cut it here and there, there's no fiddly buttons with different personality answer you can pick, but rather a neutral player answer to progress. It's more streamlined, but I think it's less cluttery and you always know when decision matters! And it matters. A ton.

The Novel will reveal to you the true story behind Apedemak's origins, Menhit's purpose and Apollyon's reason to join the event last year. The novel is much more serious than what you experienced in may, it gets deep. And your choices can stray the outcome of a Celestial war. There's multiple endings. Five, to be exact. Which one will you end up with?

During the chapters you will be able to pick sides, but as you learn about the lore and the situations, maybe your opinion will change? Maybe you will crave something else that you thought would be great for you? Sure, Celestial path sounds great if you want a Celestial mane, but... maybe Apollyon was right all along?!

Hey. It gets deeper. There's extra quests WITHIN the Novel that you must finish before you can progress. Oh, and there's rewards for quests AND the chapter endings. And they can vary, depending on your choices. That's why I recommend using Wiki if you have specific needs - Wiki will be updated always just right before new Novel would be unlocked (that's the plan at least).
Hey don't worry. The Novel quests are made to be done with fairly fast. We even made Apollyon appear during the day to make it easier. <3

You can align with an NPC around Chapter 5 for the final time. While Menhit's ending is pretty linear, aligning with Apedemak and Apollyon can change everything by 180 degrees for both of each of the NPC's endings. You could say that the guys have both "good" and "bad" ending, but is there truly such black and white outcome? Only time will tell. The outcome of whole storyline will lie in your hands, brave lion.

Novel 1 will begin immediately in the "Civil War" banner storyline that will appear in EVENT tab. I strongly advise to bookmark that page to have swift access. Daily Quest will be in same place, unlocked after you finish a Novel.

Rules/setup:
- Daily quests do not affect storyline
- There's extra quests inside the chapters
- Finishing a chapter should reset your daily quest cooldown
- You can reset your preferred NPC's reputation up to Chapter 5 during storyline a few times so do not fret
- Chapter 5 will give you a final choice and determine daily quests for the rest of the month
- Chapter 5 will determine what kind of ending decision you will face
- New chapters unlock on specific dates - 1st, 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th July.
- If you start/join later in the month, you will finish each chapter in order before getting to daily quest setup
- Ending might affect explore encounters and daily questing visuals.
- If you prefer an ending but want other rewards, well, you have to trade with other players. Rarity will be key here.

Let me also explain something VERY important.

Every chapter will give you rewards. Some will depend on choices.
There's 5 endings and each has unique prizes.
On top of that, all 3 alignments grant you unique prizes, no matter the ending.
Oh, and in general, for finishing the whole Novel, you get a Blade Mane applicator (Crescent Moon).
