Welcome to our very first writing contest! Feel free to enter. Don't worry about your writing skills. Just write and we'll all enjoy the stories you create!

Theme
It's October in Lioden and lions everywhere are excited. Who knows what could happen during the month of Hallows? Maybe there's hauntings around or some strange paranormal activity. Maybe it's just the excitement of the cubs dressing up and going trick-or-treating. Who knows?

Rules
1. Use your imagination but stick with the theme of Halloween.
2. All submitted work must be your own work.
3. Short stories only please. No novels! That means please keep it less than 50,000 words. Way less.
4. All work is copyrighted to the writers who wrote them. But, if you submit a work into the contest, you give permission for Lioden to do as they wish with it according to the TOS.
5. You may submit as many stories as you'd like.
6. You may submit your stories here in this thread or private message them to EarthUponWater or EarthUponWater2.

After all stories are submitted, I'll be creating a thread and copying all stories to it so that we can vote on our favorites. The story with the most votes wins. There will be runner up winners as well. Winners will be announced on Halloween!

Nice to meet everyone. I've been a writer off and on ever since I can remember knowing how to read. I'd been working on a book since 2004 but somehow managed to delete the entire thing and its backups (why oh why *cry*). So, I'm starting over after I get over the loss. It wasn't very good anyway so maybe second time's the charm?

ƦƛƔЄƝ, did you create Opyx for a game or just because? They look really cute and I'm looking forward to seeing more of them.

Buffy, I'm not familiar with Witcher. Now I'm going to have to go look! I read about four books a week most weeks so I'm always looking for new material. And fanfic is some of my favorite reads!

Bumblehugh, little tidbits are more than I'm doing so that's good. Even little bits of writing does the soul good. :D

Lol. That works. I'm always too busy myself. I threatened to quit my job for two weeks so that I could catch up on cleaning and projects around the house. But then I remembered all I'd actually end up doing is sleeping half the day and spending the rest on a lion based game I know.

It does indeed. We accept all levels of skill and accomplishment. I, for example, have about 100 stories that I've started and exactly.... zero actually finished.

Hello, everyone! I'm Fangie, I've been writing since I was but a tot, and I live on peppermint tea. I'm currently going through an awful bout of writer's block, which mght be acceptable if not for the fact that I'm trying to write a novel! D: I've been working on the plot outline for about 4 years now, but I'm unsatisfied with a lot of the things I think of. But hey, I figure I'll come around eventually.

I am also currently writing a fanfiction for Attack on Titan (I know, basic xD). I'm kittykitty30 on Ao3 and FF.net, if anyone wants to check me out. My writing style sometimes changes drastically, but I'll smooth out the kinks eventually.

Hey Fangle, if you like Sean Connery, check out a movie called "Finding Forester"

Might help ya with your writers block cause he says something that is very true. When you sit down to write, don't think. Just start writing. If you think, you're only going to make it harder. Write your first draft with your heart, your second draft with your brain.

Heyo people of the thread! I'm Cherry and I'm an off n' on writer...(The curse of many ideas...) I've been writing for barely a year but I've been editing for 3.

I have the 'awful' curse of imagination where I have too many ideas to write about and can't really seem to focus on one. At the moment, I'm trying to write a novel/novella for my friend based off his imagination and my too many ideas. (Will it be a perfect match? Find out next time on Lost!)
