Hi! Name's Adam, and I wanted to see if anyone else thought it would be a good idea to make a Clan about Dungeons and Dragons!

It's a fairly simple Clan idea, where of course, we could have raffles and such, but I've never created one before. While I have the base amount to buy the Clan, I need to know if anyone else would want to join.

This is the only D&D post I've made thus far, and frankly, it's quite sad. It isn't very detailed, and I want to do more with it.

I'm likely not going to get a lot of input, but perhaps people would still want to chat about it?

I was thinking about making a clan for d&d myself awhile ago, despite the fact that I've only ever talked about it with one other person on here. I think it's a great idea, and I would definitely join if you did! My name is Lynn, by the way.

Hi, Lynn! Thanks for giving this a looksee!

I'm part of two novice D&D groups - One I am a character in, the other I am attempting to DM, as it's a large group of loud people, aha. I'm starting to get better at understanding the concept, and I have my own stories. I've considered making a D&D style RP topic, but it's so complicated I'm afraid it might not work.

I applaud you on DMing for a large group. I'm kind of terrified of ever even trying for a group over three. I've recently DMed a game with just two players, because they really wanted to try, so I let them, and it went pretty well. They enjoyed the campaign and I had fun running it. I've never played as a character, but I have watched one of my friend's groups play and I'm currently listening to two podcasts where they play.

Cool! My characters are a High Elf Wizard (Neutral Evil) and a Half-Elf Rogue (Neutral Good, but also deaf). I recently wrote a mini campaign for our main group (the one I don't DM) and it ended with one of our characters turning bad, killing one of the others, and then trying to kill everyone else.

Rip.

An interesting plot twist. Despite having never played a campaign as a character, I have still made quite a few. I have a half-orc rouge (chaotic neutral), a dragonborn fighter (chaotic good), and a half-elf ranger (true neutral). Also, I really like the idea of having a deaf character. Makes communication interesting, and you could totally rack up inspiration by playing them right.

Exactly. I might get up the guts to make a D&D RP thread - Would you be interested in joining in if I manage it? I'd need a few helping hands, anyway.

Not sure if it'd translate well and I'm already working on a few things already, but it'd help me keep my mind off of other things.

Totally! Sounds like a lot of fun. I'd be interested in helping in any way possible also, if you decide you need it.

Yeah. I'll link my D&D Post explaining characters and all to it as well.

Currently debating on how I'll do it but I'll make something work eventually, aha.

Awesome!

Also, I just wanted to compliment you on your other d&d post. Everything is very well explained.

Thanks! Typed up most of it while at work, ngl. Breaks can be boring at times.

I feel like a lot of people want to get into D&D but feel intimidated by it. I just want to help out because it's a lot of fun when you get the hang of it.

Oh, totally. When I first started, I had absolutely no clue what I was doing. Fortunately for me, a lot of my friends helped me out, and I found this website that is practically the player's handbook with links to everything you need. Really helped. And I'm so glad I did push through and learn everything I could, because d&d is now my absolute favorite game, and I love playing it and teaching others about it.

Might I ask how you got into d&d?

Ah, I heard about it a ton. One day, while at a mall in another part of the state, we found a starter set with a campaign and a rulebook, as well as pre-made character sheets, a blank one, and a dice set. I bought it and let it sit around for about a year before I heard some of my friends talk about starting a group. I joined in and had a lot of fun, but then my main friend group (we meet up weekly to play video games) talked about starting a group as well. Seeing how I was the only one with experience in D&D, I was assigned to be the DM.

Yeah, same. All of my friends wouldn't shut up about it, so I decided to look into it. Awhile ago my two cousins wanted to play a game, and that's how I ended up DMing a two-player game.

We have an elven majority in my second session.

Would it be easier to move this conversation to PMs? After all, this is a Thread, lol.
