Icelysium's eyes sparkled at the mention of the said pelt colour. "It is magnificent! The blue and green works so well together and it may be one of my overall favourites coats at the moment. My lionesses don't have the neccesary traits to have one born in my pride, but perhaps eventually!" The lethargic lion wasn't overly focused on breeding such complex coats anyways, it was too stressful!

Turning to the next lion, he pondered over his next question. It didn't take long for the lazy lion to come up with something easy. "Speaking of combo pelts, which combo base is your absolute favourite?"

"ohhhuuuh well" he purred sitting proudly a lot of my cubs have combo bases, in fact, I think the ember base is quite nice, although the mudstone is too dirty looking for me" shakeing his mane he says "of course I'm biased because of my own coat, but thinking about it the blues and space-y looking combos are the best." picking out old meat from his long glamorous fangs he turns towards another lion, presumably the next one in the crowded group.

"so as a new king I am still looking for advice, my grandpaw was a lazy bastard and I had to learn on my own, so what do you think is the hardest easiest, and most boring part of haveing a pride? I could use some tips" he said, sighing on the last part

Chameleon'shade straightened, their tail flicking uncertainly. In truth, they hadn't been very trained himself in his adolescent hood. 'The hardest part is probably all the work you spend on an heir, with the marks and stats and stuff... Takes a while, and my pride isn't too rich in resources' He stopped to look at his own heir that he had brought along with him, giving him an apologetic look then speaking again. 'The easiest would be exploring, i suppose. You just have to walk wnd walk and walk till you find something of use. If im honest, it seems pretty pointless. Why cant multiple lions explore at the same time?' The lioness shook her head, unsure how to go on. 'I dont know about the boring part, its not really boring. Just busy.'

Chameleon'shade sighed, not used to talking so much. He nudged his heir, Coin, to ask the next question. The young adolescent looked uncertain and spoke quickly. 'Do you ever get into fights with other prides over something like territory or food? Asking so i know what to expect.'

Atrocitus hung his head. The Primal king looked so old somehow as his heir gently nudged him. The brimstone-colored lion smiled warmly at Coin, an almost grandfatherly look in his eyes.

“You almost certainly will have to fight…for territory, for food, for honor…When the time comes, just ask yourself if the fight is truly worth it… For now I wonder if I spent too much time fighting when I could have spent it with my sons and daughters…”

It was the prince, Henry, who spoke next. “My pride has only ever been led by males, sons of the previous king. What should I do if none of my wives can bear me a living male heir?”

Alatus craned his head at the question, being newly crowned himself. "While the worry probably won't apply to most, as a leader most likely would sire many children in their lifetime." A pause, almost hesitation as if he may offend the other, yet he carried on nonetheless.

"A break of tradition may be required." Alatus sighed, seeming much more like a weary leader than a youthful lion in their prime. Perhaps inherited from his predecessor, whose demeanor anything but exuberant. "Whether it be a male from another bloodline or a queen to carry on the pride."

"While my own pride has only been led my males so far; I would choose a female as my successor instead if they surpass their peers, regardless of gender."

Alatus put his gaze on the next, "What are your traditions for naming cubs, if you have any at all? Do they pose any meaning or significance?" He grimaced, almost out of nowhere, "I can't say my pride has any, though they have quite... unique monikers for themselves.

Queen Nephthys is looking far away into an invisible spot.
"Huh? Oh, yeah."
She takes a breath. "I'm also newly crowned, and the last King let the mother's name the cubs, so I'm also allowing that. Lionesses should know that they have freedom. They usually like to name their cubs after events, gods, things in nature... Never names that seem like... Human names." Her face turns into a face of disgust as she says humans.

Nephthys looked to the next lion. "Do you have any projects in your pride? How are they done?" As soon as she asked the question, she turned away once again to look in that one spot.

"Projects? I wish! But no ... They're too time consuming and eat away too many beetles," Ice replied. The king was too childish to focus on something so serious, way too young to know anything about projects and way too confused to be any good at it. "Plus, I don't like the idea of lionesses being temporary goods instead of family members. "

Saying the last sentence, an invisible lightbulb lit up above his head. Usually, the confused lion would have a problem making up a question, but that gave him an idea. "Are your lionesses family members? Is there a rhyme and reason to which lionesses you're keeping?"

“As with kings before, no relatives are within the Wastes” Kløver says with a sigh. “All the Wastes kings will keep lioness that are related to the previous king so they may live through them. Thus keeping daughters is a way to continue the line within the Wastes”. Kløver shakes his mane and with a chuckle says “also maybe getting some lionesses from the rouges’ land keeps the gene pool clear”.

Kløver chuckles die down and actually sits with a frown. He looks over to the next king. “I actually worry about a new clan called ‘the collector’. If you do know them, what are your thoughts about their goals and how they go about it?”. Kløver finally sits and waits for their answer.

The question brings Nephthys's attention, as she knows The Collector and is a part of the Clan. "Yes, I am familiar. I am a part of it, too. It's definitely working, even if it's very slow. If anyone is going to buy cheap lions, then now is the time. Otherwise I would love to be selling lions for when the prices rise, although buying would be a pain... I mostly buy the lions to give to The Collector for some nice rewards, like applicators to make my pride be the most noticeable, even if we do live in the middle of the jungle..."

"Hmmm... With that being said... What do you think of the current market situation and prices?" She turned to look at the next lion, and did not look away to stare into an invisible spot this time as the topic interested her.

Stars huffs loudly and rolls over onto his side, sunning himself on the heated savanna grass. "Ugghhh, don't get me started on the market prices. Lions are all over the places.. rare markings are becoming more common, yet super expensive, and rare mutations are becoming cheaper by the second..." He stretches. "It's all so confusing. I can't be bothered to involve myself with the higher prices... I sell things for less then they're worth to sell them out quickly. Perhaps I'm contributing to a crash, but sobeit."

Stars lazily turns his head to the next ruler. "So... are you an avid breeder of mutations? If so, do you breed for profit, or for noticeability of your pride?"

Icelysium glanced behind at his own body. He'd been told the white blotches on his body were also caused by a mutation! "Mutations happen. I heard some are hereditary and some are random, which is so fun. Most of lions with mutations born in my pride end up staying in the pride - they're family members, after all. Mutated lions aren't overly profitable anyways - save for a couple of variants - and I'm happy to have all my family stay close by!"

His gaze left his own body to check the next lion in line; did they also have a mutation? Were they similar in any way? His thoughts drifted away, so he shook his thick mane to compose himself again. "What do you think of the so called maneater lions, the ones who wander to our lands in August? Are you afraid of them or excited to meet them? Or completely indifferent?"

Coin stopped mid-lick, his barbed tongue flicking back into his maw. 'In all honesty, they aren't much of a concern to me. I don't plan on sending any of my lionesses to those brutes. Completely pointless, i'd say..' He huffed, his voice sharp. 'Much better to spend the beetles on useful things.' The king placed one lithe paw on the ground, his unnatural pelt rippled in the light as he lay down and boredly redirected his gaze to the next leader.

'What do you do with your pride's unwanted cubs? Such as ugly ones, useless ones, runts..'

Sensational Dusk seemed shook by the question, then shook her head slightly. "We usually keep them, and they leave on their own." She paused, lowering her head. "Though some don't make it until adolescence." She said, seeming quite upset. A small bandit cub came inbetween her legs. "Though some that are unwanted are attempted to be sold. If they don't sell, they stay." She smiled, turning her gaze to the next leader.

Zozo turns to the speaking king, tail flicking frantically as she gets distracted from the bug under her paw.

"He is a misguided friend. Friend who seeks power but never knows how to get it. A friend who hurts his friends but not like Zozo does. Zozo does because the shadow says to! He says it will make them Zozo's friends and then they will stay with Zozo forever!"

The Tobiano queen bounces around the other rulers, eyes wide and almost manic from the insanity she has come to possess from the Shadow Demon that haunts her stride.

"He needs friends who will guide him and stop him. Not friend like Zozo. Zozo would do something bad and she wouldn't know til later. Then it's too late and Zozo will just laugh."

She giggles and bounces towards the next ruler, prancing in place.

"Zozo wonders. Do you think the locusts are from the gods? Plague and punishment and all bad things? Or like Zozo think it just happens and the ones who say it's punishment are crazier than Zozo?"

Liontari was new to such gatherings as he sat amongst the various other kings and queens, two weasels bounding around his paws and across the lion pelt he wore.

"I believe that the locusts are simply doing as locusts do. They are not a sign of anger from the gods, but simply a part of life. Locusts are just another species in this world doing what they can, and what they can happens to be destroying everyone elses way of life."

Liontari nodded slowly once he finished speaking before turning his head away from the energetic blood soaked piebald and looking to the next king or queen.

"I must ask what your thoughts are on the locust plague, and of course the strange creature who calls itself The Harbinger."
