This needs to happen. I had no idea that you had to buy EVERY SLOT up to the one you needed to unlock, and like, that's really surprising we'd be made to do this. I fully support being able to unlock a slot of your choice, and it'd be great if we got a scrying stone option to see what the hidden marking is. I can only imagine how mad someone would be to pay 1gb for a slot only to find out it was something like silky unders 1 or sommat.

I want to agree.. but unfortunately there's a bit of a downfall (at least to me)
If we got to pick which one to open
We would have lion with the 10 normal slots and then a slot 16(for example)
But wouldn't have slots 11-15?

It is a good idea. But it's a rather odd one :P

The idea would also be cheaper, but lioden doesn't want cheap. They need a way to make good money and this is how they decided to do it ^^

An idea I started doing was looking at the dad (and Mom if she has extra slots)
To figure out what Mark is likely in what slot and which ones I'll go up to and if the higher ones are less desired marking then just don't go up to them.
If only the dad has extra slot markings it's likely the cub would have same marking in those slots

Its a bit too much to ask for tbh - Paying for 4 slots, 6, or even 7, for every lion that gets a mark in slot 14,16 or 17 for example is rather steep. It's also very unfair on new people too. I'd like the admins to find a better thought out way to make money - and one that may be taken to better. It needs to be thought out.

There are several lions that existed before the update with no slot 2, no slot 7, etc. So it's not that different.

Also, sometimes the parents dont show up - like the mother when shes chased or not saved in a dynasty, so if the father doesn't have the mark it might be hard to tell what the cub might have. On top of that, not everyone has the time to look at several cubs parents - 2x per whatever kinda batch they get on whatever day.

They did have those slots, they just didn't have a Marking.

For the extra slots if you were to pick they wouldnt have those in between slots.

People don't have to breed with studs that have 11+ markings and they don't have to make their lionesses that way. Therefore they don't necessarily have to get Cubs that cost to open the slots.
By breeding are making your lions have more slots to begin with you are aware of the gb possibly needed for the cubs.

It's just an extra feature you get to choice to have.
If it was fair to everyone not many would bother to buy gb

You don't /have/ to breed with those studs, but there's always a possibility in the future that a stud with the markings you need/are looking for will be one with a marking in slot 15 or sommat, and no other options work for you. Especially if you are breeding for stats, your options become more limited the higher stat studs you are looking for.

If you need a 6k stat stud to balance out your 5k lioness, and you can't find a stud with glacial whatever, celestial whatever, ebony feline whatever, and ice whatever and ALSO an onyx base that doesn't have one of those markings you need in a basic 10 slot, guess who's suddenly out of luck and going to have to drop an extra heap of GB just to get that single marking they want ON TOP of the stud fee? Stat Kings aren't cheap, and I feel like enough people already buy GB to breed with Stat Kings, buy stat-up items, buy muties, and whatever else, that making this an option won't hurt them overly much. Besides, if you wind up with a litter of three cubs and two of them have 3 hidden markings and one has 2 hidden markings, that's still 8 GB you're gunna have to spend to reveal them, versus the insane amount to open all other slots additionally. I pity the wallet of whoever gets three cubs with markings in slots 18 to 20 that they desperately need for a breeding project.

Over all, I feel like this will *encourage* people to buy extra slots, rather than make them stop and go "Jesus, I'm not sure I can afford this just for one marking".

Would be kinda cool if there was something in the scrying stone that you could use (pay a fee) to at least know what the mark was. Not like the opacity or anything just what's it called so we knew if it was even worth the gb to unlock. I have no problem spending up to 10 gb to unlock a hidden mark if it was going to be what I needed/wanted but it kinda sucks if you waste the gb and reveal a common ncl mark.

That was implemented last update. For 150SB, you can know all the hidden markings your lion has in which slots.

@GoodMi̶t̶h̶i̶c̶a̶l̶More (#45863) :: Currently, as it stands, if you have, for example, undesirable marks in slots 11 - 14, but a mark you REALLY want in slot 15, you HAVE to buy slots 11 - 14 before you can unlock slot 15. That's what this is about. With the current system, you cannot just pick to unlock JUST the slot with the nice mark you found by scrying.

My male has Zebra on slot 17 (used a lot of RMAs and that's where it appeared, unfortunately) so if I can't move it to slot 11 I would love to have the option to only unlock 17 on my pretty cubs. Right now I have to decide if a cub is worth 7GB to keep and it rarely is, but I would be willing to pay 1GB. I think people would end up spending more GB this way and the game would get more revenue if we could just choose.

Yeah I have an onyx rosette in slot 17. I haven't paid to unlock all those other ones just to see the one I actually like. I can buy a rosette for cheaper than that. Totally support being able to only unlock specific slots of your choice.
