In a parallel universe, dogs are not as we know them. Here, where the weather is harsh and the terrain craggy and the forests coniferous, where tropical is unknown, dogs are different.

They are the size of horses. Some, such as terriers, are only the size of Shetland ponies. Others, like the Newfoundlands, tower as tall as a shire horse. They retain their normal looks and anatomy, but the are the size of horses.

Now, man, being as inventive here as he is on earth, has tamed these great beasts and made them his mount.

But dogs are not like horses, which are skittish and none too bright at times. These dogs are brave, and smart, and even headstrong. So headstrong, in fact, that they have molded man to their lifestyle. They live in packs of strict hierarchy, where fights erupt if insubordination occurs.

But this hierarchy extends beyond dogs. If an man rides the Alpha, he becomes the leader of the humans in this strange pack. And if one rides an omega, he too is an omega.

And just as on earth, these packs are in forever competition for food and land. When they meet, they more oft than not fight. Some packs are stronger, garnering more resources and respect, and effectually ruling their region. Some are meeker and are content with their little corner.

There are three regions: the mountains, the forests, and the plains.

~There are no packs that I have already set. You can create your own packs and gather loners to join you! However, your packs can disintegrate/be forced into another pack
