Title says all. Seriously just let people unlock shit please. Do you know how disappointing it is to see the event bar getting close to unlocking, only for the percentage to suddenly be way farther back? Like, seriously- let people unlock what they worked for without increasing the amount needed at the start of the month.

There is NOTHING wrong with things being unlocked sooner. If you want certain things to only unlock after a set amount of time... we have the storylines for that, their chapters are scheduled. Half the time when the bar is raised we end up with only like 4 days to use the last tier by the time it's FINALLY opened... and tbh that gets really annoying. No one likes waiting almost the entire month for the final tier to unlock bc the staff decided we were unlocking stuff "too fast".

Hell, sometimes the staff have to manually unlock the final tier after increasing the amount needed bc you raise the bar so outrageously high that we can't unlock it, and in that case, the staff only actually do it like 3 days before the event ends. We should have AT THE LEAST a week with the final tier open, not everyone's gonna be on for those last 3 days.

And I also clearly remember one time where the staff refused to unlock the final tier after increasing the bar in the first place to penalize the users for not being able to unlock it at the increased price... like?? why??

please just stop doing this no one likes it, its disheartening and annoying. just let people unlock stuff without ripping it away from them and making them wait longer.

tl;dr pick a number and stick with it at the beginning of the event

TBH I never minded this, I mostly like it as it's a continuous goal and motivation for me to keep active especially in like October which is my favorite event. If it's open super soon I'm gonna get lazy lol. I really don't care if it's changed or not though I guess.
I mean, given how many people play and their play styles as well as how many join/quit each month it's not gonna be easy to give a balanced amount each month. I also don't see why it matters much? Like, you get it open still? Kinda the same as letting people open whenever though I mean it's still open one way or another.

-shrug- I can't support because I don't really agree, but I don't disagree fully either. Just adding my 2 cents idk.
Edit just to add I would probs support something like staff not changing the amount once the month is like, halfway over or something. 2 weeks should give them a general idea if they need to change anything and edit accordingly if needed and if we open early after that so be it. But like I said I don't mind either way in the first place~

I think it's less about the "you'll get it open anyway" and more so having to do with the principle that came with Events in the first place. The whole point is for us to work as a community to achieve the things we want. And having them come and push us back is being taken as a slap in the face basically.

Is this the same as what you're talking about?

If it isn't, sorry, its super late for me and I'm tired.

I too was disappointed in the raise. I might not be here this month when the first tier finally unlockes. Same with people that can't be online as often so they might just as well miss the whole point of the event if they miss the last halve of the month when a shop would finally open.

I got the answer of 'lol just work harder!' in chat. But this isn't even about 'hard work'. If your boss asks you to do x for an extra that day and you accompish that just for your boss to say 'oh.. seems that was too easy. I don't want to pay you for what you did. Just do this and that too and maybe I'll pay you then. But make sure you are not too fast or I'll not pay you anything again'.

That is what people have fought agaist for centuries. Now we have it back in a game. I thought this is a lion sim and not a 'working under imperialists' sim.

When the July incident happened Finnegan made a thread just like this (British Linked it) and it garnered 42 supports before the staff locked it and said "Added to the game" [Screenshot below]. So, this makes me think they've already promised not to touch our bars during game. If you can't access the thread I've provided screenshots below of the suggestions Finn gave at the time.

But I'm supporting again because they really need to understand that we all feel slapped in the face when our rewards are pushed because we did too good a job.

Proof of thread:

Solutions listed by Finn that they "Added to the Game":

I'm not meaning to sling accusations, but if this was really added to the game, they clearly didn't add dates, so they would have "Added" them not touching bars anymore... you can probably see where I'm going with this. I don't like being deceived.

I agree with Nny, but I'm still gonna support.
In July, I really didn't give a shit about the stone, never even touched it, but I felt bad for everyone else who wanted to open it and it being the last few days of the month.
It wasn't fair to the players at all.

they increased the bars last month I'm pretty sure, and they did it for this month too. They obviously did NOT add that suggestion to the game.

I haven't seen the bar raised for this Month (as of yet). Maybe they raised the amount before the event started and it is a little higher than last year. Finn's topic was only about raising the tier bar while the event is going on. I believe one of the solutions were to adjust the tiers before the event begins.

Haha, never mind this post then. Thanks, Angela for telling me.

This event started with the bar at 25 million locusts needed, and was raised the first day to 40 million needed.

| disclaimer: I don't mean to sound rude in this response! If sorry if some of it does sound harsh |

Unlocking tiers is a challenge to encourage people to participate and put more effort into the event, so the amount of things you have to get to unlock a tier is based off of the amount of people participating in the event and how long it'll take them to unlock it. Liodens player count increases each year, so it's safe to say last year it may have took longer to open the current tier than this year. To keep things consistent, the staff increase the bars. But how would they know how much to increase it by? They need numbers to go off of, so that's why they sometimes increase the bars during the event after we've already filled some of it out. The staff make mistakes and raise the bar too high, but that's understandable. They don't know the exact number to to raise the bar to.

I know we all like convenience. I know lots of us want all the tier to be unlocked right off the bat and get free pons from explore encounters and gb by digging in elephant shit, but the reality is this game will challenge you. In fact, it'll keep challenging you--forever! So the staff have to increase the event bars because it's all part of a challenge. :)

I'll tell this to you straight, they don't care if we are unhappy about changes, they could care less. I wish it was different but it isn't.

It's that they do it after people have already been working on it for a while and they do it so that we're unable to unlock things "too quickly" however that is arbitrarily decided.

That's not exactly fair considering we've put the effort in to get the bar unlocked but they're like "Nooo you can't do this so soon, so we're going to make it harder."

What people are irritated about is that it doesn't MATTER if we put in effort because they aren't letting us unlock the tiers any earlier than they want them unlocked.

But we are trapped into putting in effort and having to meet their set goal and be told "That's not good enough" because they don't want us to succeed on our pace, instead on theirs. And if we don't meet the ever-increasing goal, they refuse to unlock things.

See April 2016. In which the admins raised the egg donation bar halfway through the month by a lot and then refused to unlock it even though people had met the original goal. I don't know if anyone else here was on lioden then, but I can tell you that was extremely disappointing.

We aren't wanting things to be handed to us. We aren't wanting pons in explore or free "no-effort" rewards. We're wanting our effort to actually mean something other than "Well you guys have to work harder because you did 'too good' at this."

Guys, I think you're forgetting that Lioden is still in beta phase, and people are creating new accounts every day - no matter how many players stop playing or go on hiatus, the number of accounts online doesn't lie. Adjusting the tier bars is kind of needed so the event is given the right amount of challenge and doesn't get toddler-easy or the tiers get impossible to unlock.

They're clearly having a hard time dealing with balance issues, and even when it all works out in the end it doesn't make them look good. Especially when their responses to complaints almost always leave something to be desired.

I realize that it can be difficult to predict activity levels, but Lioden is hardly the only game with a constantly growing playerbase, and even if they can't help but experience balance issues, they can help the way they handle them and the way they respond to player concerns.

Personally, I'd feel a lot more charitable if they went the opposite direction and made the tiers too difficult to unlock and had to later reduce or manually unlock them. It would still obviously suck, but it would feel like less of a slap in the face. But that's just me.
